Great video!! My dermatologist said this is what I have. My hairloss started as early as 6th grade. I'm now in my late 20s. My hair grows back and falls out again. I've recently started losing hair on the sides of my head. I'm the only female in my family (that I know of) who has hairloss. Both males on both of parents sides do have hairloss.

Thank u so much for the quiz.. Although I'm not sure if they're really accurate, this put a smile on my face as I was really really depressed & worried if I've androgenic alopecia though my part hasn't widened.. I lost severe hair loss within a year when I was 13.. After that, my hair kept shedding.. I've dandruff.. My hair mineral analysis test came out that I was behind the minimum levels in all minerals. My haemoglobin is also low.. Nowadays though my hair fall is less, I notice the full hair being shedded.. Certain hairs are loosely rooted to the follicles when seen in the software operated camera.. So I wishes that it must be only due to nutritional deficiency cos that's easy to correct more than DHT related hair loss.. Thanks for this.. God bless u abundantly.. Lemme concentrate on my food & yoga from now..

Really interesting vidéo. I'm dealing with hair loss for 15years now (I'm 34). Tried almost everything to prevent it: Minoxidil, different DHT blockers, PRP injections, laser comb... Until my 30's where I finally decided to have hair transplant (1300 follicles) on the top. After the surgery I started using finasteride with pretty good results but side effects as you described were too bothering. I even tried the topical finasteride (les side effects but still present). I still looking for a product with the same efficiency as the finasteride with no side effects. Maybe the DHT blocker that you suggest will help!
Try the NutraM Scalp Serum in addition to the internal Dht blocker. Also I bet your vitamin D three is low which does actually naturally increase your DHT. So you need to make sure you’re Blood Levels of vitamin D three are at least 60 ng/mL
In watching this very clear and helpful video I realize this probably isn’t my situation. I’m a 64 yr old woman and have had very thick hair for most of my life -as do my three older sisters. (My three older brothers have had some hair thinning). About 2 yrs ago I started to noticing that newer growth hairs (3-4 inches long) were falling out (this had never happened before)and my hair seemed to be thinning . I’m very healthy -I take a lot of natural supplements and herbs, but don’t take any drugs -not even aspirin. However, I do use prescribed Bio identical hormone creams and have blood work done each year to make sure they’re at the proper levels. That doctor said she didn’t see any indication from my blood work that would be the cause of hair loss. Then about 5 months ago my hair loss started to become dramatic coming out in greater quantities than I’ve ever experienced. I would say I have lost almost half my hair in the past five months, but it is predominantly on the sides. When I went to have my haircut, she said she did notice the hair loss and that it was predominantly on the sides. There has been increased stress, but I’ve been under increased stress before my life and this didn’t happen. The only thing I wonder about is I have a housemate who vapes and smokes pot constantly and it blows in my windows. Could this cause it?? You seem to know more than anyone I’ve encountered. I would so appreciate if you could tell me what you think might be causing this dramatic hair loss? And direct me towards a supplement/protocol that you think could help regrow my hair? Thank you so much! Wendy
I was told, through my MD who took a few photos of the top of my head and forwarded/discussed with a dermatologist, that I have Androgenetic Alopecia. As I told my MD, there is no history in my family, male or female, that I'm aware of, plus I've lost 1/2 my head of thick hair all over my head, not just the top! It's very frustrating when I'm trying so hard to learn and address my issues that I keep hearing 'age related' instead of LOOKING AT MY SCALP AND LISTENING TO ME! Yes, I'm very frustrated! I hope your informative podcast can help me because I'm very distressed.

Hi, thank you for posting this informative video. One thing is confusing me a little bit: you say that androgenetic hair loss only occurs on the top of the head. I’m a woman and I’ve had androgenetic hair loss since I was about 13, and unfortunately also on the sides of the scalp. The hair loss is entirely diffuse. It is clearly genetic though - with miniaturization occurring - my mother has the same issue.
Then you don’t have a Androgenetic alopecia exclusively or at all. That’s the confusing part about people diagnosing this. Many practitioners would just say androgenic alopecia because they don’t know what else is going on. There must be something else here because someone at 13 years old will not be experiencing Androgenetic a alopecia exclusively. There is another type of hair loss of play there.
@@WilliamGaunitzTrichologist Thank you for your reply. It is so puzzling in that case. And it is so hard to find a good practitioner. I’m in my forties now. Currently making some progress with minoxidil and dutasteride. If I was in the US I’d book an appointment with you 😉
Hello doctor, I loved the way you explained this. I wonder If I have this. I'm a female. My mother has great thick hair. My father always had hair but he's been thinning from 40s. He has a male pattern baldness. I suddenly lost my hair when I was 15, I had a several stress and anxiety situation and also low iron. In 3 months my hair felt drastically. In summer my hair went better again, but next two years I was really stressed so I didn't leave time for my hair to grow back. I also messed up with my hair and I used to scratch it a lot because of stress. When I was 18, I did a home made exfoliaton from a man that said that he cured baldness... It was a lie obviously but I did it because I didn't know at the time. It was really painful and I applied through my whole entire scalp. All my scalp pieces were falling and falling with some hairs included. And that year my hair falled like crazy. So after that I had much less hair than when I first lost hair... I went to the doctors and told me I have androgenic alopecia. My blood tests were fine, I didn't have too much male hormones. But anyways, they've told me that. This year I did a stem cell treatment to my hair and it doesn't fall at all. I did 2 treatments of this and my hair doesn't fall and the thickness has improved mostly on the sides and lower side of the hair. But in the middle it hasn't improved. I don't know if I have androgenic alopecia or not. So I don't know if I should start taking hormones and Minoxidil or wait to see if my hair will grow back with the mother cell treatment. What do you think?
Make sure that your vitamin D three is at least 60 ng/mL and your ferritin is at least 70 ng/mL most physicians do not read blood tests for your hair and them telling you that it’s fine really means nothing. You must get a hold of those tests and understand where you are there. That could be half of the problem

Very informative video! I took the quiz about a year ago and it seems my hair loss was mostly due to inflammation. It started to lack volume, scalp irritation and I could tell their was a diffused hair thinning issue. I’ve been using the Hairstem spray, Nutra M serum and the EFA Complete Omega supplement since then and I can tell a big difference just from looking at the shower drain that my hair shedding has decreased and my scalp doesn’t itch or feel irritated. I would encourage anyone to take the quiz on their website. Even if your hair loss or shedding is minor, these products can halt and even allow hair growth to return.
My thick hair thinned out drastically over a 4 period of severe stress it stayed that way and it thinned out within 2 months out of nowhere when this happened. It got so oily, but I did not have any wide part in those years whatsoever. At any point. It was thin all over and it was the same. Not one person in my family has androgenic alopecia, not anyone not even the males on either side of my family as far as back as my mom could go. So how on earth could they say I had it when no one in my family on either side had it or has it and I never had a widening part at all despite losing half my hair density in a 4 year period?? But I did shed very short hair along with long ones so I am so confused.

Many thanks Dr William for sharing this video. Very useful info as usual :) will hairstem spray help to block DHT on scalp? And new products will launch soon ?
So if my hair loss is on the sides of my scalp, does that mean it's not androgenic alopecia? My dermatologist said it was female pattern hair loss. It's a part that starts on my right temple and goes all the way down to the back of my head.
From William’s Assistant Trichologist MJ: Hi Ibraheem! Yes, if you have some markers for nutritional hair loss. I recommend taking the hair loss quiz to find out which products will work for you: www.advancedtrichology.com/pages/quiz
Minoxidil does not treat DHT. It simply is a growth stimulant. You must treat the underlying condition utilizing DHT blockers for androgenetic alopecia and then you can growth stimulants to support regrowth
Interesting but kind of confusing. I’ve been dealing with hair loss from the age of around 11 or 12? And it diffuse but more loss has occurred on the top of my scalp. My derm believes it could be due to PCOS or AGA. But in this video you said AGA can occur as early as 18 and hair loss is confined to the top of the head.
From William’s Assistant Trichologist MJ: Hi! For women, AGA will typically show after the age of 35. If you have PCOS, it can occur earlier than that. Check this video about PCOS: ua-cam.com/video/enNUWf5jfkk/v-deo.html. Additionally, you might want to check your ferritin and vitamin D3. Hair loss at that age is usually related to nutrition.

Hi Doc, Can you tell me, What is the difference between a guy with androgenic alopecia and a normal guy in terms of DHT, and androgen receptors in hair follicules
Purely genetics. Think about the guy who has a Andro genetic alopecia as having an allergy to DHT at some point in his life and the normal guy with no allergy.
@@WilliamGaunitzTrichologist ah okey , cause i'm trying to understant the root of the problem, finally it leads to genetics which we can't change, and DHT production is purly naturel process the probleme is in how the body responds to it according to its genetics thank you very much sir.

Testing for DHT sensitivity or excess levels directly on the scalp is not a standard clinical procedure. However, a healthcare provider can measure serum DHT levels through a blood test to get an indication of overall DHT levels in the body. This test, while not measuring scalp-specific DHT, can still be informative especially if you're considering treatments for conditions like androgenetic alopecia, which is influenced by DHT. To assess sensitivity to DHT specifically at the scalp, it is more about observing clinical signs and symptoms of hair loss patterns typically associated with androgenetic alopecia. This includes thinning primarily at the top of the head and a receding hairline in men, or thinning across the central part of the scalp in women, often presenting in a 'Christmas tree' pattern. For those concerned about androgen sensitivity, it's important to consider both internal and external approaches if you're looking at natural remedies. Internally, supplements like saw palmetto and nettle root may help reduce DHT levels, while topically, products like shampoos or serums formulated to reduce DHT's scalp impact can be beneficial. It's always recommended to discuss with a healthcare provider or a specialized trichologist like us at Advanced Trichology to tailor a treatment plan based on your specific condition and health history. Doctor I’m a 28 years unmarried female and was recently diagnosed with androgenic alopecia. When tested my vitamin D level was really low to 9 and my dermatologist suggested me with a vitamin supplement and minoxidil. But I’m scared to start up with minoxidil. Will only fixing my vitamin d level fix my hair thinning. Or should I start with minoxidil. It’s really depressing to think what I’m going through :(
Make sure your vitamin D three level is at least 60 ng/mL and your ferritin level is at least 70 ng/mL. It is likely that that will be the only thing that you need to recover at your age

Great question! Testosterone levels in females can vary, and what is considered normal can depend on factors such as age and individual health. In general, adult women typically have lower testosterone levels than men. For adult females, the normal total testosterone range is usually around 15 to 70 nanograms per deciliter (ng/dL), but these values can vary slightly between different laboratories. It's essential to interpret testosterone levels in the context of an individual's overall health and any specific symptoms they may be experiencing. If you're concerned about your testosterone levels, I recommend discussing the matter with your healthcare provider. They can provide personalized guidance based on your health history and any symptoms you may be experiencing. Take our hair quiz✅ www.advancedtrichology.com/ Melissa / Customer service
Thank you. My hair loss took 15 years to really start noticing. If I can get back at least 5 years, I'll start using minoxidil regularly now. I think my alopecia is dht related to what is your opinion, Dr. william Gaunitz.
That really depends on your stomach. For example, I can take pills on an empty stomach, no problem, but my wife feels nauseous with even the most gentle of natural supplements. It’s really up to your body.
From William’s Assistant Trichologist MJ: Hi Parsee! When someone is losing hair since their teens there's usually nuritritional deficiency or sensitivity that is diriving the early onset of the hair loss. Most young people below age 25 their vitamin D3 is low. Have you checked your ferritin, vitamin D and zinc levels?
I have Androgenetic Alopecia my hair has been thinning since the age of 20 I'm 29 now hair was thick and later down the line it started thinning thought it was due to stress related but recently it got alarming! My haor started falling out in clumps clogged drains and all I noticed my hairline is receding and on the crown and sides are very very thin I I have over all hair thinning . My hair is dry from using rogaine and I shampoo everyday my hair on the front is very sensitive to the touch and also on the crown area...my dermatologist said I was healthy and that this was a result of a virus I contracted years ago called the coxsackie B virus . He also said there was nothing he can do but for me to continue rogaine he wasn't the first I've seen but will be my last I'm tired I'm depressed I feel defeated . My question is....what can I do now?
From William’s Assistant Trichologist MJ: Women losing hair before the age of 35 usually have nuritritional deficiency or inflammation that is diriving the early onset of the hair loss. My hairloss started, or I noticed it, in October 2022 - clumps of hair were coming out and my overall hair when I was washing it seemed sooo thin. I had covid on 7/30/22 and blood tests in February 2023 that showed ferritin at 14 and vitamin D at 24. So the dermatologist stated I needed iron IV and 50000 IU Vitamin D3. My levels were all fine by May 2023. My hair stopped shedding by February, but my overall hair is so much less dense - my ponytail is less than 1/3 of what it was. I do not notice bald spots or really a substantial spreading of the part but my entire hair is overall much thinner. I notice tons of new hairs but the front of my hair under direct light is very thin almost see through and honestly I don't notice those new hairs growing long enough. Is this really TE and not Androgenic Alopecia? Other than my father no-one else in my family has this. I am not on any medication and I am a 50yo female. My hair is not just in patches it is literally overall less hair and really more on the sides of my head. The hair is definitely lighter as well. So how do you determine if this is hormonal from the change of life vs androgen alopecia? Also, it has clearly been two years - so would oral minoxidil even help me?
Based on your detailed description, it seems that your hair loss could be primarily due to Telogen Effluvium (TE) rather than Androgenic Alopecia (AGA), given the triggering events (COVID-19 infection and nutritional deficiencies). However, it's important to differentiate between these conditions, especially as you approach menopause, which can also influence hair health. Understanding Telogen Effluvium (TE) Telogen Effluvium typically occurs after a significant stressor or shock to the system, such as illness or nutritional deficiencies. In TE: Hair sheds diffusely across the scalp rather than in patches. There's a noticeable thinning all over, including the sides of the head. Recovery usually begins once the underlying cause is addressed, but it can take several months to see significant regrowth. Understanding Androgenic Alopecia (AGA) Androgenic Alopecia, on the other hand, is characterized by: Gradual thinning at the crown and frontal areas. Family history of similar hair loss patterns. It is often progressive and can be influenced by hormonal changes, particularly around menopause. Steps to Take: Consult a Trichologist or Dermatologist: An expert can conduct a thorough examination, including a scalp biopsy if needed, to differentiate between TE and AGA. Monitor Hormonal Levels: Since you are a 50-year-old female, it's important to assess hormonal changes due to menopause. Blood tests can help evaluate hormone levels, including estrogen and androgens. Consider Oral Minoxidil: Oral minoxidil can be beneficial for both TE and AGA. It's known to help stimulate hair growth and increase hair density, though it can take several months to show results. Consulting with a healthcare provider will help determine the appropriate dosage and monitor any potential side effects. Topical Treatments: Minoxidil 5% topical solution is also effective. It can be used alongside oral treatments for better results. Maintain Nutrient Levels: Ensure that your iron and vitamin D levels remain within optimal ranges. Regular blood tests and dietary adjustments can help maintain these levels. Hair Care Regimen: Use gentle hair care products that support scalp health. Avoid harsh treatments and excessive heat styling. Patience and Monitoring: Hair growth takes time, so it's essential to be patient and regularly monitor progress. Document changes with photos to track improvements over time. While your situation suggests TE, it's essential to rule out AGA and hormonal factors. A tailored approach with professional guidance will provide the best results for your hair recovery. ➡️Reach out to us at www.advancedtrichology.com/
@@WilliamGaunitzTrichologist Thank you so much! I started .125mg of oral minoxidil about 24 days ago. The past five days, my hair is shedding extremely bad and considering my hair is already thin this is really stressing me out. Is this normal? My derm lacks in so many ways, you have provided more details than she has the past two years. I am encouraging a biopsy when I see her again in December, and I asked for minoxidil. I just feel like no-one listens and my hair is now so thin...ugh!
You have a 3 to 5 year window to get it back. Once that time is passed and it's too far gone for those hair follicles that's resting for that amount of time.
I started working out at the gym in August 2019 and I noticed hairfall.. so I got myself Brazilian keratin treatment. After that I noticed a bit more hair fall.. like strands coming out while conditioning my hair.. it went on for quite sometme. In March 2020 lockdown started in India and after that I wouldn't take much care of my hair.. i noticed hairfall.. but later one night I washed my hair and tied it and slept all night.. and the next day I opened my hair I noticed it's still damp so I combed it and that's when I had a massive hairfall.. I must have lost 30 % hair..this happened in August - september 2020.. but still I was care less.. I would tie my hair up in a bun.. this year I started to take care of my hair . Like using a better hair mask that made my hair silky and that's when I noticed that how much hair density I have lost... My hair used to be wavy frizzy because of which I didn't rrally notice the loss of volume . Now I see that scalp is visible on the crown... It's been 9 to 10 months since the massive hairfall.. and I still lose about 50 to 100 hair per day ... I have noticed that my hair has grown but new hair growth is very slow.. I am not sure if I am even getting new hair growths... I consulted a few dermatologist ( video consults) who told me it's androgenic alopecia.. one doctor said its not . Hi Doc, I started shedding in Sep 2020 and was diagnosed with TE due to my extreme stress and poor diet. However 10 months in I’ve lost 50% density in a diffuse thinning hair loss. Some hair shed are finer and shorter . It is possible that TE may have unmask my unknowingly AGA but what should I do at this moment?
Yes sounds like there is an underlying nutritional problem and or also androgenetic alopecia. You must treat Nutritional issue as well and get your vitamin D three, zinc, and ferritin to optimal levels
From William’s Assistant Trichologist MJ: Hi! As mentioned in the video, you will have hair loss that is prominent at the top area of your scalp specifically the crown and/or frontal area for men will start to receed and for women hair loss at the frontal area or widening of part. This type of hair loss is typically very gradual. For men this will start after the age of 18 and for women after the age 35.

From William’s Assistant Trichologist MJ: No it won't but depending on the blood work, it may help diagnose hormonal issues (e.g PCOS) which may have caused the early onset of hair loss. Blood work can also confirm nutritional deficiencies which can cause hair loss or expedite AGA. You can tell from the family history, areas of hair loss and the age if the person has AGA. If you haven't already, take the hair loss quiz to find out: www.advancedtrichology.com/pages/quiz
Is ketoconazole effective? Could decrease a bit dht topical I have see studies. Is finasteride and ketoconazole enough to begin with? My hair getting dry tho of ketoconazole. Any good tip there? Thanks for good videos
I’m 22 years olds and I suffer from sudden onset of hair thinning all over, but most notably the temples regions. My hair was thick and l full 4-5 months ago. But now noticing small recession corners come out of nowhere. I have absolutely no family history for pattern baldness in the last three generations and in my distant family. Could other form of hair loss cause hairline to recede at the corners? Something like this had happened to me when i was 19, but my hair made a full recovery within a year. Recurrence of this made me think that there might be other underlying issue.
From William’s Assistant Trichologist MJ: If you have hair loss that is at the top of the scalp or receeding hair line but the portion at the back of the head and the sides of the scalp right behind your ears aren't affected and you have family history of hair loss, then you are probably dealing with androgenetic alopecia and that means you're genetically sensitive to the hormone DHT. DHT will only affect the top of the scalp.
So what happens when taking products orally to reduce test 5ar into DHT? That would mean a spike in testosterone, that isn't good either right? How would you allocate that access? As for the androgen receptors, since DHT and test is somewhat reduced internally and externally from topical, what other nonsteroidal anti-androgen topical could be applied that would most likely not cause systemic symptoms long term? What are your thoughts on RU58841 and mircro needling in conjunction to the other products as well as yours?

hello doc! i am a 14 year old male, i have been having thinning in the middle of my hairline since i was 13, i went to a pharmacy and they told me that its because of dandruff, i went back home confused, because google told me that dandruff cant cause hairloss, can you tell me what is going on please?
Great to watch your video and do the test!! However for me it was inconclusive (as far as l could tell). I was told the thinning at the front was androgentic alopecia, but I also have all over thinning especially above the ears and then a lot of thinning at the lower part of the head at the back. So it would seem I have genetics, nutritional deficiency and inflammation, though I don't have any scalp irritation ... hmmm so basically I still have no idea what approach to take. Any suggestions? Thanks 🙏
How long on average does is take because the past 5 weeks Iv had so much hair fall out, had full head of hair and was just receding before Christmas, now can see my scalp, if it carries going il be bald in 6 months, already thinking about booking flight to Turkey for a hair transplant 🤔
From William’s Assistant Trichologist MJ: Are you actively shedding? If yes, that is not typical for androgenetic alopecia only. If it's just androgenetic alopecia, the hair thinning process is very gradual. There might be other underlying reasons for your hair loss and I would recommend taking the hair loss quiz on our website to know which products will work for you: www.advancedtrichology.com/pages/quiz

If DHT caused hair loss, why isn't every 18 year old bald? If it's a sensitivity to DHT, wouldn't that be akin to autoimmune disease? DHT should be perfectly normal, and if it and the hair follicle are interacting incorrectly, why isn't any studying why that relationship is going bad? The "DHT bad" argument just makes absolutely no sense.
Hi Mr. William, I have noticed hair fall in the age of 19 started from scalp itching and dandruff. Now I am 23 and facing hair fall in a well pattern. It started from hairline and now affecting the Crown part. I have history of Androgenic Alopecia(My father). I am using Ketoconazole for dandruff and itching scalp. What should I do to recover from it completely. As i have visited one surgeon for PRP sessions but he recommend me Hair Transplant. I am thinking to use some DHT Blockers but same time about hair transplant. Kindly suggest me the best of best treatment for this. Thanks
Hi doctor I had anorexia for 4 months and my hair shedding in clumps and know I recovering and gained weight but my hair doesn't stop shedding I checked everything and my vitamin d was 8 and ferritin 10 so what should I do ?
No minoxidil does not stop genetic care loss. It will accelerate the growth cycle which may discontinue the advancement of genetic hair loss for a period of time until eventually the DHT issue overrides the strength of a minoxidil
I'm sorry to hear about your hair loss-it's tough, especially at a young age. Since you're only 16, it's important to approach this carefully. Hair loss in females, especially if it runs in the family, can have various causes, including genetics, hormonal changes, or nutritional deficiencies. The first step is to talk to a healthcare professional or a trichologist who can assess your situation and recommend the best course of action. Early intervention can make a big difference, so don't hesitate to seek help. ➡️Reach out to us at www.advancedtrichology.com/
I am so confused - have no family history at all of androgentic alopecia. Had diffuse hair loss a few months after being very ill. Early menopause at 42 / now 61. Biopsy confirmed androgentic alopecia but makes no sense - was sure it was T.E. Not sure which products to try at this point to help with regrowth. Don’t want to use minoxidil or take oral meds. Thx
It's understandable to be confused, especially when the diagnosis doesn't seem to align with your family history or the timing of your hair loss. Here’s a breakdown of your situation and some potential options: 1. Androgenetic Alopecia vs. Telogen Effluvium (T.E.): Androgenetic Alopecia (AGA) is a genetic form of hair loss that usually develops gradually and is often linked to hormonal changes, like those in menopause. Telogen Effluvium (T.E.) is a temporary form of hair loss triggered by stress, illness, or hormonal shifts, which seems to align with your experience after being ill. Since your biopsy confirmed AGA, it’s possible that your early menopause could have triggered it, even if there’s no family history. Hormonal changes during menopause can contribute to hair thinning. 2. Non-Medication Approaches for Regrowth: If you’re hesitant to use Minoxidil or take oral medications, consider these alternatives: Natural DHT Blockers: Ingredients like saw palmetto, pumpkin seed oil, stinging nettle, and pygeum can help reduce DHT levels without the use of synthetic drugs. These are gentler and may be effective in slowing hair loss or promoting regrowth. Topical Treatments: Look for products that contain natural DHT blockers and other beneficial ingredients like caffeine, rosemary oil, and peppermint oil. These can help stimulate blood flow to the scalp and promote healthier hair follicles. Microneedling: This technique can enhance hair regrowth by promoting collagen production and increasing the absorption of topical treatments. It's non-invasive and can be done at home or by a professional. Nutritional Support: Ensure your diet is rich in vitamins and minerals like biotin, zinc, vitamin D, and iron. Consider adding a supplement specifically designed for hair health if you're not getting enough through diet alone. 3. Managing Expectations: Natural treatments can take time to show results, so patience is key. Additionally, even though you might be dealing with AGA, combining these strategies with a healthy lifestyle may help you maintain and possibly improve your hair density. 4. Consultation: Consider consulting a trichologist who specializes in hair loss. They can offer personalized advice and recommend specific products or treatments tailored to your needs. ➡️Reach out to us at www.advancedtrichology.com/
Thanks so much for the reply and explanation! I most definitely feel I have a better understanding of the diagnosis. Will implement the natural treatment recommendations and hope for some regrowth - thx again!
Hi, I am 19 (almost 20) years old, female and I have been suffering from this since i was 16. I have lost atleast 70% of my original hair, is there any chance of getting some or most of my hair back. Please be truthful. This is/ has been very hard for me. I also have a very irritable scalp and immune system.
Also I have used your quiz, it says I have Nutritional and Inflammatory Hair Loss, but I am 100% sure it is also androgenetic as my mum also lost her hair in her late teens/early 20s. PLEASE HELP, I AM BEGGING YOU
From William’s Assistant Trichologist MJ: Hi Fariba! That is very possible but it's not typical. There are some factors that can expedite female pattern baldnes like nutritional defeciencies, PCOS and birth control (depending on the type of birth control used). WILLIAM!! 🙏I hope you see this🙏 Can you suggest advice? Or any hopeful thoughts on this??? I am 36 y/o female. My dermatologist said aga can affect a woman’s hair all over like mine. I have thin hair equally all over my head. Not just the top. (But no widening parts at all yet) Also I have NO family history of aga. Zero hair loss on both sides!! But the dermatologist did a biopsy a week ago and it came back I have aga. I was devastated. 😢 Also I am confused. Can biopsies be wrong???? Should I get a third opinion? 😔 (because the very first dermatologist I saw 3 weeks ago reassured me that he saw no miniaturization with his trischope when he looked at my head) he said I had chronic telogen effluvium. But because I was shedding baby hairs in the sink less than an inch long, I still was worried. The second dermatologist a week later did that biopsy and confirmed aga so I am confused and hope maybe the second dermatologist who said aga could possibly be wrong😢

Well done, Will! Great informational video.

So you need to make sure you’re Blood
Levels of vitamin D three are at least 60 ng/mL

Doc, Thank you so much.😊
In watching this very clear and helpful video I realize this probably isn’t my situation.

Doctor how to do cure hairloss due to inflammatory in the scalp
That is a very long winded answer. I will give you a link to a video that should give you a general overview ua-cam.com/video/M4Df_KC0jFs/v-deo.html
So if my hair loss is on the sides of my scalp, does that mean it's not androgenic alopecia? My dermatologist said it was female pattern hair loss. It's a part that starts on my right temple and goes all the way down to the back of my head.
I have hair loss in my temple thru my sides and the scalp biopsy said early stage androgenic alopecia with some minimization of the follocle
Should we also take the foligrowth along with this?
From William’s Assistant Trichologist MJ: Hi Ibraheem! Yes, if you have some markers for nutritional hair loss. I recommend taking the hair loss quiz to find out which products will work for you: www.advancedtrichology.com/pages/quiz
You didnt mention minoxidil why?
Minoxidil does not treat DHT. It simply is a growth stimulant. You must treat the underlying condition utilizing DHT blockers for androgenetic alopecia and then you can growth stimulants to support regrowth
Hairfall is on the sides too for women
Hi 👋
What is the benefit of using minoxidil in this cases ? Please 🙏
How do you know if it is not due to too low testosterone?

Interesting but kind of confusing. I’ve been dealing with hair loss from the age of around 11 or 12? And it diffuse but more loss has occurred on the top of my scalp. My derm believes it could be due to PCOS or AGA. But in this video you said AGA can occur as early as 18 and hair loss is confined to the top of the head.
From William’s Assistant Trichologist MJ:
Hi!

Hi Doc,
Can you tell me, What is the difference between a guy with androgenic alopecia and a normal guy in terms of DHT, and androgen receptors in hair follicules
Purely genetics. Think about the guy who has a Andro genetic alopecia as having an allergy to DHT at some point in his life and the normal guy with no allergy.
@@WilliamGaunitzTrichologist ah okey , cause i'm trying to understant the root of the problem, finally it leads to genetics which we can't change, and DHT production is purly naturel process the probleme is in how the body responds to it according to its genetics

Can you test the actual DHT on your scalp or if you're sensitive to it? Or if you have too much of it?

My son's hair started thinning in his mid teens and was all gone in his mid twenties. He is 31. Can it still be reversed?
From William’s Assistant Trichologist MJ: Hi Elissa! He can regrow the last 3-5 years of hair loss. He will probably need some growth stimulants like laser cap and/or minoxidil due to the length of time his hair's been gone and especially if it's very visible hair loss. You can call us at 480-222-4247 or email us at support@advancedtrichology.com so we can find out more about his hair loss situation. There might be something else causing his hair loss if it started before his 20s.
Iam a girl so my hairloss is not AGA because my ferritin is 10 Ng/ ml and vit d3 is 8 Ng/ ml in your quiz its nutritional hairloss but iam scared
Don’t be… Nutritional hair loss is extremely easy to fix. You need to be on our ferritin, vitamin D3, and Foligrowth

How much testosterone is normal for female?

And did you hear about vichy dercos aminexil? Does it work?
Understanding Telogen Effluvium (TE)
Telogen Effluvium typically occurs after a significant stressor or shock to the system, such as illness or nutritional deficiencies. In TE:
Hair sheds diffusely across the scalp rather than in patches.
There's a noticeable thinning all over, including the sides of the head.
Recovery usually begins once the underlying cause is addressed, but it can take several months to see significant regrowth.
Understanding Androgenic Alopecia (AGA)
Androgenic Alopecia, on the other hand, is characterized by:
Gradual thinning at the crown and frontal areas.
Family history of similar hair loss patterns.
It is often progressive and can be influenced by hormonal changes, particularly around menopause.
Steps to Take:
Consult a Trichologist or Dermatologist: An expert can conduct a thorough examination, including a scalp biopsy if needed, to differentiate between TE and AGA.

So overall can your hair come back? So much hair is gone, i just need to know if it can return.

My Father who is a doctor says it's not androgenci . And I am very confused...
Also there has been some changes in my diet and I was doing cardio every night before going to bed..
I am very tensed because of my hair.. I really don't want to go completely bald..

Asides from what you mentioned, can blood work identify AGA?
From William’s Assistant Trichologist MJ: No it won't but depending on the blood work, it may help diagnose hormonal issues (e.g PCOS) which may have caused the early onset of hair loss.
I’m a male, so I’m i at risk even if i have no family history of androgenetic alopecia
how can I determine if my follicles are sensitive to dht, is there a test or something.tks

From William’s Assistant Trichologist MJ: Are you actively shedding? If yes, that is not typical for androgenetic alopecia only. I'm sorry to hear about your hair loss-it's tough, especially at a young age. Since you're only 16, it's important to approach this carefully. Hair loss in females, especially if it runs in the family, can have various causes, including genetics, hormonal changes, or nutritional deficiencies. The first step is to talk to a healthcare professional or a trichologist who can assess your situation and recommend the best course of action. Early intervention can make a big difference, so don't hesitate to seek help.

Here’s a breakdown of your situation and some potential options:
1. Androgenetic Alopecia vs. Telogen Effluvium (T.E.):
Androgenetic Alopecia (AGA) is a genetic form of hair loss that usually develops gradually and is often linked to hormonal changes, like those in menopause.
2. Non-Medication Approaches for Regrowth:
If you’re hesitant to use Minoxidil or take oral medications, consider these alternatives:
Natural DHT Blockers: Ingredients like saw palmetto, pumpkin seed oil, stinging nettle, and pygeum can help reduce DHT levels without the use of synthetic drugs.
3. Managing Expectations:
Natural treatments can take time to show results, so patience is key. Additionally, even though you might be dealing with AGA, combining these strategies with a healthy lifestyle may help you maintain and possibly improve your hair density.
4. Consultation:
Consider consulting a trichologist who specializes in hair loss. They can offer personalized advice and recommend specific products or treatments tailored to your needs.

PLEASE HELP, I AM BEGGING YOU
can someone get female pattern baldness at 21?
From William’s Assistant Trichologist MJ: Hi Fariba! That is very possible but it's not typical. There are some factors that can expedite female pattern baldnes like nutritional defeciencies, PCOS and birth control (depending on the type of birth control used). I recommend taking the hair loss quiz to know which product will work for you here: www.advancedtrichology.com/pages/quiz You can also call us at 480-222-4247 for any questions!
how do you decrease the inflammatory hairloss ? might be a dumb question, but would be nice to know :P

Hi I read your message and was wondering if you were able to get your diagnosis correct???
As I'm going through this myself was it chronic TE or AGA .
Either way have you been able to get on the right path to manage your hairloss. I really hope so 🙏 x
I try to buy these products, but there are no way to buy this, in Amazon currently not available this, 🙃 if I directly buy this I should have to pay international shipping more than this product, doctor do you have any idea for this ?
Please tell me if you found a way to get the products, bcuz I live in the Middle East too.
