Things I’ve read looking into hair loss
    1) dehydration
    2) not enough sun
    3) blood flow
    4) notice a difference when drinking gatorade when I was sick with covid. My hair became significantly softer than drinking water. Is there a more healthier dink that does not have sugar?
    5) over weight/ plus other health issues Diabetes/menopause
    6) dry scalp
    7) brushes that pulls hair out -- (not just hair ties)
    8) flashbacks of a negative memory/ stress

I've tried a zillion things. The single things that actually worked in my case: A good diet, proper sleeping timings, moving your body atleast for 20 mins, eating right, using good shampoo as well as oil. I use only liiitleextraa cocoonnion organic hair oil shampoo for this reason plus it does the work. My hair fall got under control with it.

I appreciate the effort you put into making this video-it's truly valuable. My personal best decision in life was to turn to natural hair loss prevention products, and that's why I saved my hair. I’m 23 and I noticed my hair loss/thinning was getting pretty noticeable a year ago. I started taking minoxidil, took saw palmetto, vitamin D, iron, and vitamin B supplements (bc I’m deficient) and started derma-rolling my scalp once a week. I also use rosemary and peppermint oil in a carrot seed carrier oil on my scalp for 30 minutes before i shower. These were all things that i have read were helpful in treating female pattern hair loss. I don’t know what exactly has been most effective since I’m doing everything at once, but it’s been a year later and my hair looks better than it has in a very long time! I’m glad that what I’m doing is working, is there anything that I’m doing that actually may not be as effective as i thought? Also, i hope to have kids in the future, but I know I can’t take minoxidil during my pregnancy, what alternatives are there so my hair doesn’t all fall out? Thank you for the informative video!

@@asliguzel7494 yeah definitely be careful. You could wear a satin bonnet on your head and make sure he doesn’t use your pillow. I know kids flip flop a lot in bed and the bonnet could come off. That’s a tough call. There is a study where researchers found out minoxidil is as effective once a day. You could put it on in the morning and most would be absorbed by night and wash your hair before bed. I use minoxidil every other day once my hair was in a good place.

The only thing that helped me with my hormonal hair loss was laser cap and massaging.
To see results with the cap took a good 16 months to see growth. And now it’s on its way. It was a pretty severe wide part situation that no doctors had answers for.
It totally makes sense because I have always had anxiety, that I have a tight scalp. And lack of blood flow from that. So I do believe the massaging has helped with the tight scalp. No doctor will tell you this because you didn’t study it.
Also my mom has thinning hair and has always had anxiety.
My siblings that don’t have anxiety, have thick hair.

In between shampoos I treat with tea tree, peppermint and lavender essential oils with rosemary and glove water EVERY Night❣️( I alternate these oils every night as well)😘😘

Thank you for doing these videos. I had alopecia in one spot that was a little larger than the size of a quarter several years ago. At first, it looked like my hair color was just a little lighter, but it continued until all the hair was gone. I went to my dermatologist who gave me injections just in that area. I was very lucky that all my hair in that spot grew back and in my natural color (he said it might grow back gray or white). He also recommended using minoxidil and explained that it was the ONLY type of OTC product that would regrow hair.

I started losing my hair in my late teens early 20's. I've been on minoxidil for about 10 years. I still lose a lot of hair but I continue to use it not to lose whatever little I have. I'm 50 now and I think peri-menopause is causing my hair to shed more so I stated viviscal about 6 months ago. I also use good quality shampoo for hair breakage and scalp scrubs to keep my scalp clean. I'm thinking of oral medication next but my biggest regret is not seeing a dermatologist when I was younger. My PCP never took me seriously when I was younger and I just struggle with ways to cover my baldness. They never even mentioned a dermatologist. So this is my hairloss journey and I won't give up because as a woman it's devastating. 😞

As a nurse, I was able to personally care for my Papa weeks before his passing, which was just before the Christmas-- before COVID 19 hit. I also came home to a partner who was newly diagnosed with low low WBC. I have always had very thick, strong, shiny hair. However, I started shedding all over the place, and didn't care about it at first-- as I was grieving-- until my SO (Significant Other), complained about it! I purchased some hair and nails supplements, and in short order, my hair stopped falling out. It has been my experience to support my body by giving it what it needs to do it's job properly. But first I must know how my body works. I was trained in Eastern Medicine and Eastern A&P looks at the body differently than Western Medicine...

Then decided to wash hair more often (every 2 to 3 days) but really massage my scalp throughly each time. Also started taking hair and nail gummies. My hair is looking thicker again and seems to fall out less. I am 64 and graying so dye my hair with Loreal Excellence creme every 4 to 6 weeks and use the pretreat that comes with it.

I now avoid combing and brushing my hair incessantly. I now use my fingers to gently work the tangles out. I also use a wide-tooth comb to gently comb out my hair before having my shower. Wet Detangler is my new bestie. I have found that the minoxidil does work if used correctly. I had written off my list till one day I ran across an article and realized I was not using it, as per the directions. Collectively, these things have made a huge difference in addressing my hair loss. As always, thanks for the great information.

Stop eating things and supplements that block your estrogen, for example coffee and black tea or spirulina and diary. Try chlorella and more soy products or buy some phytoestrogen supplements. Also bad cholesterol and pre-diabetes can make hair worse, liver and kidneys affect hair as well. I started to lose hair after I implemented spirulina pills. I've noticed I started to have some thick hair growth over my body and my hair was similar to male hair loss. It took me years to realize that spirulina is the enemy of estrogen. So now that I've stopped taking it, and I have removed diary, sugar and bad cholesterol as well the little hair on my belly! Yup on the belly and around mouth suddenly disappeared. If you are male, you might have too much testosterone. Try chlorella pills to balance the hormones, or shatavari.

Maybe it would have grown back anyway, but I noticed improvements in my nails and skin, too. The typical American diet is probably already nutrient deficient. Especially if it's mostly processed foods. Now I eat once a day, feel great, keep the weight off, and have all my hair.

I'm sure there are plenty of brands that do a fine job. I've used both Collagen Peptides Powder and Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides Powder Supplement and I've been happy with both.
Colorless and tasteless, both are powders that mix in well with any liquid, hot or cold. When used in sauces they can act as a mild thickener, too.

@@halimam4583 My understanding of vitamin supplementation - any supplement - is that it's only useful if your body is deficient in those vitamins to begin with.
So, if your body has adequate stores of, say, B7, taking a B7 supplement won't do you any good. On the other hand, if your stores are really depleted it may take up to a couple years of supplementing before the deficit is resolved. In the case of poor nutrition over many years it's possible for that to happen, and then I can see where discontinuing B7 would result in the symptoms of a deficiency returning.
Now, that's my understanding but I'm not a certified nutritionist. In any case, all my hair hadn't fallen out in the first place and I think if it did, I'd be consulting a doctor!

I am in my 60s and have been on diuretics and cardiac medication for 11 years. My hair used to be thicker than the average woman's and grew almost 2 inches a month. Now the individual shaft seems to be thinning - my hair is fly-away, brittle, and electrified in winter (I am not kidding - actually see blue sparks when touching metal or even kissing my husband). As you mentioned, I used to be able to only use a scrunchie 2 to maybe 3 times in a ponytail but now I can wrap it 5 or 6 times. I do have an itchy scalp and can never wear black. I have no bald spots and my part is not widening. Have you heard of anyone with these multiple issues and if so, what can I do at home? I dislike going to the doctor and I am attempting to figure this out on my own. I am trying homemade hair treatments with coconut oil, avocado oil, geranium oil etc. I don't know if this will help. Please help!

Great video. I had noticed significant hair thinning for the past six years. I had a blood test back in 2017 to check my thyroid. Even though my TSH level was borderline for hyperthyroidism, I was told all was well. I was told this in 2018 and 2019. Then Covid hit and I did not go back to the doctor until 2022. At that point, I was in full hyperthyroidism and referred to an endocrinologist. I was also diagnosed with iron deficiency anemia. I am hoping that now that I am on proper medication that some of my hair will come back.

My question is, I have read online that frontal female hair loss just across the hairline, with deep margins on the sides like male pattern hair loss, and complete loss of the eyebrow tails has been shown or speculated to be caused by some ingredient in sunscreen. I'd like you to way in on this. I use sunscreen religiously AND this type of significant hair loss is my problem. I'm 60. Thank you!

I used it for 8-9 months but it did not help at all. I did not get a diagnosis but she said it could be due to medication (hydroxychloroquine). I believe it's either the medication or, more likely, autoimmune disease.

Is hair thinning in the "scarring" hair lost category? Like if people usually notice hair thinning after they lose 50% of their hair, do they still have hopes to grow the lost hair back? How do you know if your hair lost are in the "scarring" category?

Scarring hair loss can present as thinning, but so can non-scarring hair loss. The best way to know what kind of hair loss you’re experiencing is to have an in-person visit with a dermatologist because making the diagnosis can be very nuanced!

I have female pattern hair loss. I have tried different schampo's and topical treatments and they worked somewhat. The backside to Minoxidil is that once you stop using it, the hair you've grown out will fall off in time. And trust me, you will get tired of applying it every single day, especially if you have thin greasy hair (you will experience a lot of bad hair days).
BUT, then I found the solution for me: PRF and microneedling. I went to a doctor and got it done 4 times (once a month). It really made a difference, I now have my scalp full of short new hair strands (they stand up like a halo). The treatment is a bit pricy, but if you have 1000$ to spare and you really want your hair back, I can recommend it. 👌

I was diagnosed with male pattern balding when when I was 21. Very depressing. I tried Rogain and found it expensive and made my hair greasy which required me to wash my hair very often. By the time I was 45 I was wearing hats and wigs. I am now 71 and thought I would have been completely bald by now, however, my hair is thicker and more beautiful than ever. That has all been the result of using red light therapy (Hairmax headband) 90 seconds every other day.

I had covid in the beginning of the year in Jan. I started noticing hair lost in Feb by April I was very worried. I started to take Biotin and and brought an over the counter minoxidil. I do have a lot of regrowth , so hopefully the fall out has stopped. I'll give it some months to see. If not I will make an appt. with a dermatologist.

Issues such as peeling, soft bendable nails, and split down the center of the nail. I know toenails have their own issues, but I’m particularly curious about fingernails. Will a damaged nail continue to grow back split forever? Are there any products or treatments to help with this?

Okay so I have this issue. I stay on a prenatal vitamin, d3, zinc, biotin, and I take collagen peptides daily. I also eat a lot of green veggies and all of this combination has turned my nails from see through, bendable, and constantly breaking off to strong and the ends that extend beyond my finger are now white. I've been doing this for like 4 months and I expect them to get even better over time. I hope it eventually starts helping my hairloss. The collagen peptides alone helped a bit but when I added a daily biotin pill it truly made the difference.

Look into nutrition. You should take a blood test and see where you are lacking like D3, Iron, B vitamins etc. these doctors only talk about chemicals and stuff to put on your hair and nothing about nutrition which is directly responsible for hair loss. Doctors are not educated in nutrition unfortunately so they will recommend only medication,
