As a die-hard Fela, I'm having shivers listening to this rendition of upside down. The delivery is so good that, i have no doubt Fela would be smiling down each time this track comes up. A very big shout out to the lead female singer and the band, i've lost count of how many times I've seen the video already!

Look for Abayomy Afrobeat Orchestra my brother, its a band from Rio de Janeiro that started as a Fela Day tribute from musicians!
They still host annually a Fela Day meeting around the city, but the band developed many original songs that are just incredible like Fela's.
      Kalakuta lives!!!

Don't let their looks fool you, they may look non African, but this group is from Chile, South America. Chile and most of South America is known for having West African slaves (their descendants still live there today) and some of them in this band (not all) might have some African ancestry in them, especially the female lead singer (I know a mixed person when I see one), this is probably why they feel comfortable doing Afro-beat music in which Fela Kuti influence them while taking on African cultures, because they know their history, but music is music no matter what race is doing it.

Damn, definitely the best Fela cover assembly I've seen - wasn't expecting that. Normally people try but miss the beats, or try to 'innovate' in a way that shows they don't understand the source material.
Seems like you all legit get it - props.

I can never get enough of this version of Upsidedown by Neween Afro beat Great Performance indeed. Thanks to progressive forces who fought for freedom in Chile against Dictator General Augusto Pinochet who must be turning in his grave hearing Afro beat in Chile. Allende the man of the People lives for ever in our minds for giving his live for freedom of the people in all ramification as encapsulate in the music of Newen today, Afrobeat with a Latin American touch!
