when I hear that the Gen-z's comparing the original Afrobeat to Lazy styles .... how i wish they see the efforts put in place to produce this kind of original sounds
Exactlyy.. I have personally chosen to not engage in the afrobeat conversation. Because it seems like these young ones know more than all of us now.
Those same efforts could be done in the studio. All instruments recorded by just one person. So, if it seems lazy for you non-genZ, this is also lazy. Music is Music, performed or recorded
@@Rodeo.Wone person in the studio, playing and recording every instrument, that’s putting in work and I respect that. Bradley on Sublime’s Robbing the Hood comes to mind, the man was a musical genius. I can also see the purist’s view, knowing what it takes to get a twelve piece band to play with such focus that the song is elevated. Meaning, something special is captured in the performance. Music has a mystical element within it, everyone in the video experienced it. I’m a little high so I’m gonna stop rambling and listen lol.
@@olohialli9289 lemme just say I saw the original Fella( fully loaded) in NYC in the 90’s! So I feel and share wholeheartedly where you at!🙏🏾
No wonder Seun dey brag. This is music abeg. The arrangements is top notch. Qudos to the ladies. Una head dey dia
That’s his wife singing lead in black
Fela's struggle was never in vain. A great tribute to the man.
100

The bass guy is a disciplined musician, it's not easy to remain consistent.
Same thing goes for the guitarist 😮
Yeah, it comes with the type of music also, this is something missing in our generation, most people want to learn riffs and scatter the music. This is how music was back in the day, everything is clearly communicated, clean, and understandable.
swrs!!
If I was the one, I'll have steeped away to quick notes. In and outs tho buh d man's discipline is Soild
He should... He's a Rastafari
Kudos to you Seun!!!! This sound is now UNIVERSAL!!! Long live the LEGEND!!!
When Fela said " I can't die because I have death in my pouch", many did not realise he meant death can't take authentic legacy. Ojoro no dey, na true talk.
Seun is more than what nigeria youths think of Seun musicaly, Seun is multi talented individuals ❤
Honestly speaking 👍

Reminded me of the OG himself on stage. May his soul rest in peace 🙏🏽 😢
These are the real musicians not studio mixed tune n songs they are calling afro beat now

@@oworu The dark, short lady beside Seun singing
If you’re lovers of good music you will patiently watch to the end ❤❤❤❤
Just seeing these beautiful people from different races and backgrounds joining force with funmilayo gave me Ayo (joy). So beautiful 😍
What a lifting up instrumental music !!!❤🎉ouuiiuf. Thanks.
Ashé 🙏🏾👍🏾🙏🏾
Am on high way from Germany to poland feeling it all the way ...... BABA FALA You live on Sir.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Oh no. Not again.
The Lady on the Keyboard is Great
Drums and Bass… deep pockets. The whole band absolutely outstanding. I wish my dad was still alive to hear this. He was the biggest Fela Kuti fan… this reminds me of him and his vinyl records. He/we named my daughter Funmilayo.
Again, outstanding Band! 👏🏾😤
I’m like your father !
May your daughter live long and become a great person ❤ what a great thing to read 🎉
Before hearing this beautiful tune, I was perplexed and overwhelmed by the harshness of life. Listening to it reenergizes me and restores my hope.
I must say that African music is spiritual.
Omo. There's so much musical royalty in the video. I will pay anything to watch this band play. First time I am seeing Yetunde Kuti sing. Thought she only danced. The female Keyboardist killed it, so did every other player there. Fela is the Greatest! 🇳🇬 🇺🇸
Loved this too!
It's amazing!
He really was the greatest and anything that can truly get next to that energy can only produce something Golden.
I never knew Yetunde sings
Yea
Unparalleled Jazz- Funk- Afrobeat Orchestra !! Power to the People
Shout out to the Bassist. Keeping it locked down.
***
Yes. You are right. Despite that the drummer kept dropping the tempo
The bassist was spicing it with fela aroma …
Only a bassist will perceive that locked groove by the bass player.
ua-cam.com/video/-WxMBQINfBg/v-deo.html
The level of professionalism backing up these talents is out of this world; the concentration of each player on his or her instrument to produce coordinated sounds needs to be studied💯
How would someone watch this band play live and not get entertained?
God bless the Kuti family for upholding good music👍
Who else watched this more than two times? Pls signify by liking dis comment ❤💯🦅
The Trumpet lady can't be lovedless ❤❤❤❤❤❤
The keyboardist,
The drummer,
The guitarists consistency for me🤔
The Bassist held it down on that loop . Bravo
Seun! Seun!! Seun!! You are indeed a chip of the old block on Sax! you guys killed it!!
I was glued . Holistic performance. Everyone was engulfed by the spirit of Fela .
My God! This is a complete music system that passes the message, gives joy, and happiness flowing . Everyone plays his / her role effortlessly. This can make even the dead jump up and dance. Thank you guys.
Wow!!! I know Fela would be proud, thank you, Seun Kuti.
It's the bass guitar consistency for me
It's the life force/backbone of this creation, the bass & the drums(central core). It's as though it's from a machine, no mistep, no fall of speed. It just continues flowing like the ether.
U gerrit ❤
ua-cam.com/video/-WxMBQINfBg/v-deo.html
This is a real Afrobeat. Original to the core not studio mixing. God bless you Seun. Baba Fela lives on.❤
This is music; the harmony is powerful. Specifically, I love the women’s delivery 💯 ❤❤❤
i can't believe i watched this video to the end.
It is worth it
i enjoyed it
As a Pan Africanist
This reminds me of the great Fela Kuti. May he rest in eternal peace
Spiritual music. I miss Shrine . I am waiting for you in London , November 2014.
This song makes me emotional. In Africa, everything is upside down and disorganized. God will help us in Africa and we also need to help ourselves
I beg go bring Grammy home for us joor❤❤❤... This is real music not all those gbarogudu
That was Seun's wife singing, these folks are the best on stage and off stage, down- to - earth folks.
I thought so too but needed a confirmation, didn't know she is this good..Kudos to her❤❤
I love the rhythms and how the separations flows indeed seun is a good musician
This is what you call music. GOOD music 🖤
Whoa this is awesome
Fantastic. The brass is so tight! Perfect❤
This is pure Music to the soul, Seun kuti I sight you brother! Keep grinding my legend seed@Fela Anikulapo kuti May his soul rest in peace❤
I am still 🎉in awe. The perfect fusion. Afrobeats at its best 👌 👍. Nigeria 🇳🇬! Brazil 🇧🇷! Cuba 🇨🇺
This is Afrobeat and not Afrobeats. Stop confusing Afrobeat with the British-named genre Afrobeats which initially was known as Naija Hip-hop/pop.
@@hapexconsulting3789 I am not confusing the genres! It was a typographical error and I am fully aware of what the differences are, having attended many shows at the original shrine at Otigba Street, Ikeja, Lagos.
Very beautiful souls....no one is gentle here....all musically dogged.
....if music be the food of the soul play on....
I just found this video yesterday. I had to come watch it again today. A room full of beauty and talent. What an incredible performance. Upside Down is one of my favorite Fela songs, and THIS performance of the song is one of the best I have seen. Incredible energy and talent.
A smile on their faces can light up someone’s day . 🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️💕
The true lovers of music are hunters and seekers of any conscious, spirutual, original-raw and enjoyable sounds they are not feed neither are they fan-atics.

mice to hear continuation of Fela's legacy
Magnificent, most musicians are the most loving people around. Just look at the diversity here😊
Good to hear the real AfroBeat sounds! Magical..
Everyday I listen this....the mammywater on the keyboard is something else !
I can’t wait to turn my music students on to you at school ! woof!
Fela is a legend, like father like son Seun good job 👏
I listened carefully to what the musician is saying. It is a bitter truth!
Seeing Yoruba/African from the motherland and their diasporic Brazilian Yoruba brothers together play in one session just brings me tears of joy.
We have been separated for centuries physically but we our core soul,God given talent is One.
Love you from all my soul and heart.
Must you call Yoruba here, just say Nigeria
Africans
@@anthonyford3797yes, Yoruba must be mentioned, this is Yoruba music and that band leader is a Yoruba Brazilian, the fact that it's also Nigerian is a bonus.❤
@@anthonyford3797it's yoruba.Nigeria is a British expression
@anthonyford3797 Yoruba is the Brazilian black heritage.
Absolutely wonderful music and feeling in this soulful music..
I am just loving to see a majority woman afrobeat band. this is incredible. Big up Seun! Fela would be proud
The Band was named after Funmilayo Ransom-Kuti, Fela's mum and Seun's grandmum so I'm not surprised at the Bank comprising of majority women
I love when I love a band right from the first note.
🤎🇧🇷
@@funmilayoafrobeat Yeah!.. I saw Seun Kuti last year or so in Santa Fe, NM… I hope you all get to play here too, soon!
Also, look into Tico Time, Aztec NM. Such a great venue on the Animas River…
And one nobody with no rooted family want to mess with this legacy. Who God has blessed no man can curse. Kutis live on and they are not dieing soon
This is what they call original music… it touches the body and soul… everyone on the instrument are great… Good JOB… @Seun I sight you bro for keeping the good work of the legendary ABAMI EDA ANIKULAPO FELA KUTI going
And one idiot said seun kuti is not a musician that he is living only on his father popularity, saying he is not to be compared to p square.
Pure vibes....from start to finish❤
I love 💕 this Thank you very much
👏👏👌 Absolutely CRAZY !!! VERY BIG UP TO YOU ALL Girls and Boys!!!! The FELA sound is out of sight thanks a thousand times for this moment of pure Music coming from the Soul and Heart 🎉🎉
the arrangement, the discipline , the synchronergy, abamieda music was not just the ordinary kind of music... FELA LIVES ON
Legend Fela Kuti footprints, I remember , Nigerian social and political revolutionary
Sonzera!!!!💥💥💥
Na this song we go use dey move during the protests.
It's the consistency of that lady playing the drumset for me
Plus that woman doing the keyboard!
Funmi is so beautiful and so Fatalie feminine ! I wish I knew her.
That bass guy is excellent, so consistent
Great band
Good music
Good sound
Good mixing
💯
This is a panafricanist dream made into song! Kuti Vive!

Well done Sisters and Brothers ❤🎉❤
I don't need to listen all the way" sO cool and we all" know it❤️🇮🇪 peace love and music👍🙏what's not to love about this ' ❤️
My heart is melting right now ❤️❤️❤️👍🏾👍🏾
I thought this was NPR’s Tiny Desk for a minute. Anyway: the music reminded me of James Brown. “All around the world, same (African) song…”🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
James sang it firsr on "Same Beat" as a response to those who weren't funky enuf''...Digital/Shock G rapped about same shhh....happening around the world esp re:Black people on Same Song, both classics...1st time i heard Tupac...From the Motherland to this land and around this world...check Femi Kuti too if u don't know....peace
Good ears and observation! Fela indeed drew a lot of water from the James Brown well.
Afrobeat came, it saw and it conquered.....if music be the food of the soul play on...................... on my continuous play !!!!!!!!!!
Fela lives on.Glory be to God!!!
Is this kuti a son of The great Fella Anikulapo Kuti ?
Yes
Africa is rhythm. Rhythm is the beat of the Earth. Thanks from the heart
Best of all, afrobeat❤❤❤ long live Fela. Baba 70
