I really like this review. I had several questions pop into my head about these disc tip styluses and you seemed to answer them as soon as they popped up.

Great Review! I have 2 questions...
1. What do you find most comfotable to use regarding the compression of the tip on the first two pens vs no vompression on the Mini? Do you find the Mini slipping in your fingers more?
2. Does the shape of the Mini stylus (somewhat triangular) help you hold the pen better than the typical round shape?

Hi, thank you for a very decent review. My question: I have a very small smartphone (JELLY) with a very small touch screen. Do you think these Adonit styluses can be used on such a device just to tap letters or numbers (to write text, ...)? The screen's dimensions are appr. 1.33 inch x 2.75 inch. Appreciate your help.
It should work, but it is going to be awkward to write on such a small screen even with a stylus

All I can say is that while your review is great and fair, Teoh, be advised BUYER BEWARE. I spent a lot of money on my Jot product which was great until it failed a few months after purchase. Support was dropped for it and they were impossible to deal with. I won't be buying from them again. Thank you for your great review! Cheers!
+M.D. Campbell Which one was it? I think the ones with batteries can break down.
It was an older version of the Jot Touch and there was an issue with the charging and connectivity. Turns out they changed their support for Bluetooth to a newer version, dropping previous support, altogether. No notice, no updates, no refunds. Very disappointing. Unlike your review, which again, was terrific! :)

Even their pro pixel pen version has only around 2048 pressure sensitivity point vs the basic of wacom pen has over 4000 pressure sensitivity. I found this from google because they don't have this information on their website for a reason. Think of a walker vs a runner. Good for beginner and basic daily notes taking.
After 3 years, do you have the updates to the adonit pro for review?
Does a Tablet/Phone's Touch Sampling rate help in getting better/lower Latency figures for Capacitive/Passive Styluses ? What Touch Sampling rate is required in minimum for a decent drawing experience ?
Hi. I have a cygnett disk-tip stylus. My old ipad is capacative touch only. I'm using an older version of Procreate. I think it's a 2015 ipad. You mentioned that some capacitative stylus' have other electronics and features in them. Mine is basic and doesn't, though it works fine. I don't think palm rejection works. Would any capac. stylus with other electronic features work on an older ipad? Palm rejection would be very helpful.

my ipad mini don’t have screen protector. how likely will this cause scratches?
I noticed my stylus has to be pushed down (retracted) in order to write. Does the jot pro and switch need to be pushed down and retracted in order to write? I do not like having to push down in order to write. Please let me know! thanks!
It's no different from using a pen. You also have to push down a pen to get the ink flowing.

Would you recommend disc tips or hard tips for drawing?

Adonit mini or snap? In Adonit Mini I am afraid that the tips often have to be changed. Do they(mini and snap) work equally fast?
Mini is faster more accurate. Snap has smaller tip.

This is how to make a different type of one so first get a earing back(clear one) and hold the medle piece and put the clear piece on the screen and that's it
i bought the ormosia stylus but the tip that is (as it looks) supposed to be inserted into the actual pen, but it doesnt go in??

Hi Teoh! Thanks for all the stylus reviews! I am using an Ipad and need a stylus. I had previously bought some cheap disc style stylus but the tips just stopped working after a few weeks. As a result, I am hesitant to purchase another disc style stylus. I do not use it for drawing may for writing. What are your comments about the durability of the adonit disc stylus or should I be considering the adonit dash 3 stylus or pixel instead?
Maybe you can try the MEKO disc stylus. They have a lot of replacement tip

Anyway I haven’t used Adonit disc stylus before, I am just hesitant to use disc stylus in general because of my bad experience with a no brand stylus lol. Hence I was wondering if a branded disc stylus durability was better or should I just heck it if the disc types are all similar and use the non-disc type like the dash 3 or pixel instead. What is your advice?
Most disc type stylus performs similarly. The Adonit and Meko ones are not bad. As for Adonit Dash 3, it has a small tip but it will have slightly misalignment. Check out my review. Adonit Pixel is more accurate, supports pressure, but is more expensive. If you want to get the disc tips, make sure the connection part is not those spring type.

Hi. I just want an stylus for basic writing and drawing, like for example on Instagram stories. I found many cheap options on ebay. Do you thinks it is worth getting an Adonit mini or should I just buy the cheaper options? Thank you.
Also, how long the discs last?
I guess you can get cheap ones from eBay but make sure the disc connection is a ball and not a spring. The spring allows the disc to spring back to original position but you don’t want that all the time when you are drawing. There are also different version of disc tip stylus from Adonit, just get the cheaper one. Not sure how long they will last but quite long. You can buy replacement tips when they wear out.

Ask for a replacement. It should have a disc. Or it may have fallen out somewhere. It's difficult to find if it has dropped on the floor.

I’m trying to find a precise stylus to use on procreate app for my art, I have an iPhone 8 Plus. Can anyone tell me if any of these are precise enough for detailed art? If not, can you suggest any? Sadly Apple Pencil does not work on iPhone :(

Unfortunately you can only get perfect palm rejection if you use an active stylus, one that mentions specific support for your tablet.

Why is the disc needed on the disc tip? Why not use just the metal tip?
Capacitive stylus require a large contact point. E.g. disc tip, rubber tip
So, the JOT PRO is the best for write?
For writing go for those stylus without disc tip.

It's to have a larger contact point. Tablets cannot detect small contact point for non-active (capacitive) stylus

I've not used that brand before so I can't say much. But I don't their their active stylus means what it really means. Active styluses usually have palm rejection and pressure sensitivity. Ciscle did not advertise palm rejection, so I think that stylus will perform like the Adonit Dash or Adonit Snap.

+Whatdoes that Does For writing, perhaps Adonit Snap or Dash 2. For Meko, make sure that the connection behind the disc is not the spring type which is not very flexible.

JABALABA Art hes talkong about the tip.. most of these styli themselves will last a lifetime. They're made pretty simple.
careful with the adonit pro 3, got one that probably slipped through quality control... the disc had a little pointy spot that scratched my screen while writing! + adonit does not take any responsibility for damages like this.. in fact, they didnt even seem to care as i contacted them

Actually it does scratch the screen, so be sure to use a screen protector or use it in a lab environment

Of course i used like normal pen. I am designer, normally i used sketchbook & photo edit app for quick free hand details. But it doesn't works like Samsung Note series.

It depends on your usage i guess, its a plastic disk if you dont use it aggressively honestly it could last a good 3 years, assuming you use it all the time

These kind of styluses scratches my screen as hell. Not recommended if your tablet screen is not made of gorilla glass.
