Wacom Bamboo Tip Capacitive Stylus Review

- Lisa Gade reviews Wacom’s latest stylus with a 1.9mm fine tip for touch screen devices- primarily iOS and Android phones and tablets. The pen uses enhanced capacitive output and is designed for devices that don’t already have active digitizers. It requires no drivers or pairing, making it simple to use- just charge and write or draw.

I was focused on her shirt the whole video..
Oh god ! Someone noticed
At the moment I saw it, I thought "OMG where did she buy this? I must have."😂
woh same here
You’re one of the few people who actually pronounce Wacom correctly. Thank you! :)
"This is like tryn' write with a crayon." 😹 That was so accurate of you!
It actually works quite great on my s9+, I really liked it. It does depend on what kind of device you have based on the screen/ digitizer make.
She says it lasts for two hours but she is incorrect. It takes two hours to charge. It lasts for 20 hours.
A Random Sad Boy
He hates you
Can i use it to write on monitor of lap top ?
@@ahmedmadhy842 Only if your monitor is a touchscreen. What this pen does is basically a finger replacement.
@@lenmediastudio
Thank u i already purchased atablet
@@lenmediastudio do it have pressure sensor?(not sure if that's right). And if it have does the pressure stuffs works in Android
Excellent review. Thorough explanation of how the stylus works or why it doesn't. Well balanced review that allows reader to make informed choice on whether to purchase this stylus and what performance to expect on most devices.
Thank you for your very honest review on this pen! I bought one just a week ago and I am finding that even though it's more accurate than my regular finger for drawing on my screen, it's still not 100% accurate.
I love your reviews, Lisa!
Great Review! it shows in details the poorly performance of this Stylus, thanks for the video, I was considering this product for drawing and sketching, but not anymore! you save me!
I have this stylus and it’s great
If you use an art glove like you sometimes do does it allow you to rest your hand on the glass and still draw?
Not so much- you'd need something more like a ski glove. I did try my art gloves and they didn't help much because the capacitive sensors are always active. With active pens and digitizers once they sense the pen they ignore touch until the pen is no longer detected, and that makes all the difference.
Yeah, they're often too thin to stop your hand registering a lot of the time. Using them might be even annoying, as it'll make the experience even more 'random'.
cotton gloves and vinyl gloves will work
Thanks so much, exactly the information I was looking for...the whole stylus-digitizer-tablet thing is very confusing. You made sense of it!
Awesome review as always and awesome shirt.
when writing on the android tablet, does it skip lines? is it the same as if you were to use it on a galaxy tab a 10.1
Thanks for another great review!
I love your videos😍
Awesome t-shirt!
I love the fact that she gives her honest opinion
Good review. I was going to get one of these for my phone but having seen it in action I don't think I will. I have been spoiled by the SPen and Pencil.
Thank you for the video, I hava a question, do you think it could work on the screen of my Yoga book by Levono or on the screen of any smartphone (I'm currently searching for a stylus for touch screens without all the Surface/Ipad/Samsung technologies but precise enought to write down things on the screen) ? thanks for you answers
About the palm-rejection: if you use good Apps on the iPad like Goodnotes or Notability, there is built in palm rejection that works astonishingly good. So whether you are writing/drawing with your naked finger or a huge-nibbed Stylus, evertyhing you write is registered even when you put the "meaty section" of your hand on the screen as a rest.
Lisa, I’ve been using an Adonit Jot Pro/Mini stylus for a fine tipped capacitive pen on my iPhone(s) for the past few years, I find it’s in a very similar class to this product and was surprised you hadn’t mentioned it in this review. Have you used one before? Did it track any better?
Cant wait for your art review on the 2018 bob spectre.....im wondering if the pen will be better with tilt? Or is sb 2 still your fav? What about third place apple ipad pro?
Hi Lisa: Thank you for the information. I bought an HP Envy 15-nd1250cn which seems to have a digitizer!? But HP says there are no compatible digital pens. Would have any advice on this? Arthur
You save my pocket! A little more and I buy the Bamboo Sketch (expensive one) for a Dell P2418HT capacitive touchscreen. Hope you someday explain the difference between the Tip and Sketch pencils :)
I have the adonit jot pro and works pretty well, is this better? or worth it?
Hey Lisa, do you know if a non-rechargeable/non bluetooth Wacom bamboo pen would work with the 2017 iPad? not the iPad pro but the 2017 regular iPad.
I'm so glad I caught this video. Was considering one of these, but not now. Thanks for the demo. Just gonna save my $ and get a tablet that comes with a pen.
As Lisa said in the video, you're always better with active pen support if you want to use a device for pen input. Active pen will give you palm rejection, pressure sensitivity, buttons on the pen and, on some models, tilt sensitivity. This product is intended to give the best possible experience on devices that do not have active pen support.
I would like to know how the Wacom Bamboo Tip compares with the Adonit Pro 3 and Adonit Snap? The only issue with the Adonit Snap is that the black tip surface starts to wear off and eventually drops off the tip in a short time of wear and tear.
Hi Lisa, I would like to ask does the bamboo tip can be written in Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft word in I pad? (Not I pad pro), many thanks
Hello there. Can i usw this Bamboo Tip for PDF Scripts for de University?
Im a Student and I have a Samsung Tab A. Is it possible to use this Bamboo pen for the Tablet? If yes then how?
How do I know if my fire hd10 has a digitizer for active pen? Thanks.
Can this be used in other apps like Lightroom Mobile or as a stylus instead of a finger?
Or is it just for Wacom Apps- sketching and notes?
Just to let folks know that it works pretty well on my Magie Trackpad 2 which is attached to my Mac mini (I'm using it for OneNote amongst other apps).
For how long you can use it before you have to replace the tip , and how much the replacement cost? Thank you.
Hi Lisa, I am saving money to try and get my husband a surface book 2 as a surprise but I know he loves the walkum pen can you suggest which pen will work the best?
Will this work on windows 10 touchscreen devices that don't have digitizers (generic capacitive touchscreen)
Adonit makes an “active” fine point rechargeable Li-ion battery stylus, too!
The Adonit Dash 2 and now the Dash 3 which my wife owns and uses on her iPhone SE
Beautiful looking stylus and a little cheaper than Wacom’s active stylii.
I love this product and I also gift two of my friends 😄😄😄.
Very best and informative review which stylus is best for palm rejection for artists
what's on your shirt? is that a mic, if yes, where can i get one? good review
Lisa, can you recommend a pen to work with the Pixel Slate besides the Pixelbook pen?
Giving a thumbs up just for the shirt. Very clever and funny.
i have dell inspiron 13 5000, i really want a stylus, do u know by any chance which stylus would work with my laptop which has palm rejection as well? thanks
Would this work with a Fire HD 8? The screen requires a capactive type stylus so I would *think* it would work...
Medibang haves palm rejection thanks for the review. Now I know it haves pressure sensitivity on certain apps
Can you please tell me whether it will work on my oneplus 6. I called the customer care, they simply said it will not work because its not listed in their compatibility list. 🙄
Hi and thanks. Could you recommend something that will work with the iPad Air 2 as well as the new base iPad 2018/19/20 models. The former I own, the latter I plan to buy. Will be using it for a little writing and some drawing but am not any kind of pro. Going nuts trying to find a solution. Thanks again.
How is this model different from Wacom Bamboo Stylus Tip CS 710B and Bamboo Fineline 3rd Gen in terms of usage and functionality ? Also, does this model works with Microsoft Onenote app in iPad 2017? Which one do you recommend for note taking and pdf annotation usage ?
the fineline is iOS only (needs to pair using Bluetooth) and allows for pressure senitivity. This is a capactive pen that needs a battery to great the field effect, it should therefore wok wherever a touchscreen is available. It will be more accurate, but not provide more functionality (no pressure sensitivity is possible)
I have a Lenovo Tab A10-30 and i want an stylus to paint with. i have Wacom bamboo solo, is fine. but i would like to have more precision on the brushtrokes. Could i use this stylus in this device? Anything better on the market for my needs? . i also have a Huawei P8. please can you help me?
omg its a nightmare...cn't afford an ipad right now can you suggest a samsung tablet with an active digitizer s pen? Great review by the way!
Do you know if this will work on a HP x360 Chromebook?
I'm trying to find a pressure sensitive pen for a kindle fire :(
Is there a stylus that works with laptops that don't have active digitizers? Maybe a Bluetooth enabled capacitive stylus? I recently bought the laptop you tested this stylus on and I was preparing to buy this stylus, but your video makes me think otherwise. Any recommendations?
Hi i have got a window surface pro 2017 without a digital pen, i need it but can't found surface pro pen, kindly suggests a best pen for surface pro 2017, thanks
Does it work in Lenovo yoga 2 10.1 Windows
Model 1051L
Plz clarify I searching from year
Nice demonstration
One can wear an artist glove to ignore palm inputs on screen :)
Easy solution to lack of palm rejection: a drawing glove.
Do you know how to replace the tip once it wears down?
Do this pen works with any smartphone with android?
@@Nazo_Sil80 is it have plam rejection
Do you recommend it to iPad 2017 (5th generation)?
Any plans on reviewing the HP Zbook X2?
So far, HP doesn't have a review loaner for us. The price and last gen CPU honestly hurt it a lot too.
Wouldn't a compasitive styles with precision disc (almost double the price as the cheap $5 one in this video) work just the same. Also I don't notice any pressure sentitivity, so I'm really confused of why it needs to be charge (other than to act the same way as if a finger was touching the screen).
The charge is to increase capacitance, which is needed to amplify the signal with such a small tip, as I mentioned in the video.
Think I’ll stick with my Fineline 3 ...I want the Apple Pencil but I only have an IPad Air 2, planning on getting a dedicated tablet that’s made for digital art pretty soon
I love her shirt tho!
These active styluses don't work on Galaxy Fold 2 because of magnets under the screen. Would you know any thin tip stylus that works with galaxy fold 2? I've only been able to find the thick crayon ones or the disc type styluses that ar passive
Does anyone know if this pen will work with the Wacom Pen & Touch? I lost the damn pen and I need a replacement..
"... goes out to lunch before it comes back again..." LOL
can you please do hp envy x360 ryzen artist review? PLEASE! I WANT TO BUY IT if it works good for digital artists :) and please tell how will it work with other pens like wacom bambo and surface pen.
Can it be used on all android devices? Mine is Huawei tablet. Thanks.
Cool new intro!
nice tshirt lisa!
Will this stylus scratch a plastic screen like the Switch or Samsung Galaxy Fold?
They're plastic screens, so probably.
Lisa, as always a great review. The ONLY person I trust for reviews, you should be a personal shopper, take my money and buy me my tech!!
Since you're an artist have you any views on the best application for vector graphics on the Play Store? I'm used to Adobe Illustrator but no longer have access to a Windows machine but have an old Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
I'm not much of a vector artist, but Adobe Illustrator Draw comes to mind.
MobileTechReview Thanks so much for your reply Lisa, you're a star!,
Are the replacement tips expensive?
Apple Pencil on iPad Pro 10.5 is one of my most favourite experiences! (though Wacom being better for more pro stuff)
Does this work with the Lenovo Tab4 10 Plus?
Love your videos.. And your SHIRT!! Link please?
Great job. You're talented.
grate video mam....
Nice review
Any pen currently on the market that you would recommend? This pen is what I want but I can't find it anywhere
Great review!!!!!!
How does this compare with Adonit's Active stylus'?
I’m a bit confused. Why would the stylus need to be charged and turned on if it is for a capacitive device? Will it not work passively if you don’t turn it on?
it needs to great enough capacitance field effect, which is not possible with such a small tip without using a battery. I expect it will not work without turning it on.
Quentin's Family Show
Thanks for explaining that to me, I really appreciate it. That said, are there similar types of styli out there which are as good and maybe less expensive?
i have an ipad pro and i use this pen and personally for my use it works amazing
would it be alright if I asked some questions?
I've seen other people say that it was wobbly when trying to draw a straight line. HOWEVER! when they changed out their nibs to harder nib, it worked amazingly.
So, are there 2 nibs in the package?
Thank you!!
AriaIsNotHere unfortunately only 1 :c
@@deeznutsgotemhahagotem thank you so much though! have a good rest of your day! :,)
um does this work on samsung tap 3? i need to know before buying it
can i use on my dell inspiron 5378 2 in 1 laptop touchscreen
Does it work on Samsung Galaxy Note 9 ? I dont like the grip of Spen that comes with it.
Hi, my bamboo fineline doesn't work on my drawing app on my Android phone, or on any drawing app in general. I've charged it and checked to see if it was accidentally off, etc, nothing. Is there any reason why it doesn't work?
Did you contact Customer Service for that issue? Or maybe there's a problem with tge stylus? (assuming you've used it for years and that it isnt newly bought) It could also be because it falls a lot??? (tbh idk what im even saying lol)
Do Bamboo's stylus work with Apple's default Notes app?
When does the winner of the latest competition get announced Lisa?
It was announced in all the places I stated it would be announced and the winner has already received his laptop.
What type of stylus for Lenovo Yoga C930?
This stylus pen for Nokia 3 android work or not??
Does it work in ipad air 2??? I’m getting it the day after this comment is posted!
wacom should make a pen that's just like the pencil but is compatible with most devices, for future devices that is to be released. or even an app or software maybe
Please give me a link to buy that shirt! I live it so much.😂
does anybody know if this pen will work on the acer laptop? I am tired of buying different stylus which will make dotted lines instead of a continuous one. Any thoughts out there, please?
Is it compatible with I pad 6 gen 2018
Ma'am good day, did you test this product with other Galaxy devices other than the Note and Tab S or Galaxy Tabs? Please test it out with the Galaxy S8 and/or other Galaxy S series devices; in one video of koolphoto he showed that it doesn't work that well with other Galaxy devices his Galaxy Tab E and S8+.🤕
It works on S6 edge plus, but that's all I know
Can it used on ipad air? Which is better compared to wacom fineline 3?
