- Welcome to my Mer-MAY series! This is video 1 of 3! I made Ariel's Purple Victory Gown from Disneys Animated Classic "The Little Mermaid". All through the month of May I will be posting mermaid related content and because I got a little bit of a late start to this series ( I took some time off from content creation) The series might go into June, but I'm embracing the imperfections of my current schedule 😂👍🏽
Purple glitter fabric was from Joanns, but I have no idea if they still sell it as it was purchased a while ago 🤷🏽♀️ the satin lining fabric is a similar story wherein I bought it for a different project and had a bit left over to use for my purple Ariel dress
Sewing the dress took me about 2 days in total, but I took a break after day one to work on some personal business 😂

lol I definitely tried my best to edit out the worst of the butt issues, there were a few shots that were really bad 😂😂 im glad you liked the video and the dress too!!
Oof burning your finger on hot glue I FELT that!
I burned my finger on my hot glue gun soooooo bad the other day, it immediately created a blister and it hurt like crazy! Stay safe out there!

Oh, I bought that fabric. IT WAS THE WORST TO WORK WITH. It kept gumming up my machine. The quality was low for how much it cost me. And the glitter just sheds everywhere... which I kind of expected. I'm glad you had better luck with it. Great Ariel dress.
Dude that was literally my experience with it too!! Its got this weird glue film on it and my machine DID NOT like it! I got the fabric on sale, otherwise I think I would have waited and kept looking 😂

Ok I’m freaking excited for this Mer-May content! I really love this , chefs kiss ! I’m so excited for the live action but hesitant to get my hopes up … cause Disney live action films are hit and miss ( cough, looking at you beauty and the beast, cough lol). I saw your instagram story today about feeling burned out and how your creative side is a little low right now. If I can say, I’m so grateful for every piece of content you put up and get excited for each new upload . Your channel is probably one of my favorite channels to watch! But, as a fellow creative person, it’s important we pour into ourselves and take time to recharge. So don’t put any pressure to push out insane amount of work when you’re having a rough time, those of us who support you will ALWAYS be here waiting when you need a week off or break.
ok well I just read this and I can feel your sincerity coming through in spades!!! I love creating, but it definitely can burn you out if you aren't careful 😂 I am adjusting my content schedule to accommodate some new life changes and its been really good! A change of pace is exactly what I needed to get back into the swing of things, but slowly and more mindfully than before 👍🏽 also the beauty and the beast was a disaster, and so was Mulan and pretty much every live action they have done! (although I did enjoy cinderella and the maleficent movies..)

Oh I agree on the fact Disney misses 98% of the time with life action lol I haven’t seen maleficent, cause I was worried it was bad too … but now I’ll check it out !! Let’s hope this little mermaid is good but I’m not getting my hopes up too much cause Disney and I’ll have to fight if I get my hopes crushed lol

lol there was only one other person on the beach that morning and they stayed farrrrr away from us 😂 which I was grateful for because I always feel so awkward and silly dressed in cosplay out in public 😂😂

dude im stoked to show you all the mermaid tail! I am working on that video right now! And the best part is that the tail is *swim-able* so I can actually use it to swim in! I just need to build up those muscles before I can actually use it proficiently 😂

lol ya its definitely one of those outfits that is best appreciated at a distance 😂👍🏽 its got its issues for sure! lol but I think overall it worked ok!

the dress pattern is one of my favorites! lol the Wig is so bad 😂😂😂 im not even ashamed to say it, like major thumbs down 😂👎🏼 I have a lot of room for improvement in the wig styling department! Im looking forward to growing that skill, because it has A LOT of growing to do 😅
I have the worst time buying fabric online but I also am bad at picking out fabric in person 😅
Buying online is tricky!!! I do better if I can touch the fabric, a lot of times what I do is go find fabric I like in the story and then try to find something similar but cheeper online 😂 I am only successful l ike 40% of the time 😂
Thought the dress was blue? But this looks nice too
the dress is like a bluish/silver/periwinkle reflective color, but I had glittery purple fabric, so thats what I used 😅👍🏽

@@twjr2855 no not at all!! the original animation was done with animation cells and the colors vary shot to shot, add that on top of everyone originally watching it on older TV's and VHS tapes and its no wonder the dress looks blue, then silver, then periwinkle 😂😂 gotta love old school animation!
@@AlexandriaLayne that’s the same exact problem with Cinderella’s dress. Everyone sees blue but it was actually silver. Also Belles gown being gold but people see yellow.

I work as a sweets baker and have a lot of fun with my bakery family. You will likely want to head across the street to our cake shop…where the cake decorators get all the glory for all the cake we make twice a week😂

the mermaid scale fabric is what I used to make my mermaid tail!! Good eye! 💕
