It is perfectly okay to be single. It's okay to want to be in a relationship. What's not okay is to be desperate for it, and it's not okay to have the feeling that you won't be happy until you get a girlfriend. You have to learn to love yourself first. That's where I'm at. Everyone is on their own path and we shouldn't judge each other based on who's single or who's a virgin etc.

This hit at home my brother is also 29 and he’s also never had a girlfriend. He had a tumor in his head when he was a child ( surgery caused him to lose function of certain areas of his face, paralyzed half of his face) as a result his physical appearance affected him and brought out a lot of insecurity. I remember in elementary school kids would mock him and tell him he looked like a monster, he acted tough ignoring them. He’d go home and lock himself in the room breaking down in tears thinking the world looked at him like a monster…. He’s now very successful in his work life bought himself a house. I love him to death and it honestly brings tears thinking about what he went through.

Damn man. I am a guy who turned 23 just 13 days ago and I never had a girlfriend before. I had my first ever date over 3 months ago at the age of 22. She is 19(turning 20 after a week) and we went to the mall and ate in Mcdonalds and took some pics and hugged each other and I was pulling her cheeks a lot too. But 2 weeks after the date she turned out to be mean and toxic and blocked me on all social media. She basically used me for free lunch and take pics of her so she can post on social media. I also have a big crush on this girl who is in my class where I go for preparation of exams to get into an MBA B School as I just graduated college like 5-6 months ago and now planning to study MBA. She is also 22(turning 23 in a few days). She has called me cute several times before and I pulled her cheeks too and gave her chocolates once but I mostly see her with her male friends and I am shy near her in person and she is the one who initiates conversations with me so it gets difficult.
Over 2 months ago, I went out with this another girl who is also 23 in that same classes. We roamed around the city and had lunch in a big restaurant. I pulled her cheeks too while taking selfie but was shy to ask for a hug. She also has called me handsome before and even said I am an amazing person she met when wishing me on my birthday a few days ago and we may again go out somewhere this month but we are just friends now. I also follow several girls from our institute on Instagram and they are all within 21-25 age range but I am yet to message them. For several months I also have been chatting with this another girl on Instagram who is 19(turning 20 in April). She was in the same school as me but we didn't know each other that time. She is very sweet and we send each other virtual hugs daily and plan on meeting soon to eat somewhere as we are both foodies. But I am still single in the end.

I used to identify so much with the idea of myself as someone who is not good enough, who is undesirable, unlovable, etc. but now I can see that that is just a thought and is not what I am. The aim of life should be peace within yourself, not the acquiring of things which you think will finally make you a worthwhile person. The depressing part is that I put myself out there: I asked women out, I signed up on dating sites or joined new groups to meet new people. But every girl rejected me before I had something as a date.
More and more I think it is due to my disability (Fetal alcohol spectrum disorder) I am suffering from. It seems that whenever I tell women, I only work minimum wage jobs, they seem to be less interested in me. Once a woman even told me, I am a loser for working as a dishwasher.

Just wanted to say, I was in a rough spot mentally about my own lack of a dating life a couple weeks ago and I found your video. I related so heavily. So I watched some more of your videos and it’s honestly inspiring how open you are with your emotions and how you try to put yourself out there and face your fears. You’re awesome man, and clearly the rest of this comment section thinks so too. And I also have been getting into guitar so you seem like an older version of me. I also wanna say that the comment about getting in shape is true. I started hitting the gym a few months ago, and even though it hasn’t helped my dating life at all, it’s made me so much happier in my own skin and it’s honestly invaluable for your sense of self confidence. Even if you can’t join a gym, try doing callisthenics. Self care really really helps, because girls or no girls we all die alone and the only person you’ll always have is you. So it’s really very important to take care of yourself. But I know you know this, you started meditating and doing the hard work for a reason. Stay awesome man.

Absolutely okay! I've never had a girlfriend either. I was jealous of everyone for years because of my insecurities and weaknesses. But then I made a New Year resolution to end it, because I realized something. I do not believe in society anymore. I say two words to ultimately eliminate the self-doubt that tries to attack me: screw norms.
I'm 27, still live at home, having _never_ moved out. I have never had a girlfriend or a date, and I don't even have a driver's license. I have both a learning disability and ASD, and sometimes I say unfiltered things or act weird in social moments. I assume my ASD makes me "less normal." I don't have too many friends now that I've graduated from college and most of my friends have left town. My coworkers all seem to fit in; I usually stand out. I used to feel like a misfit at work, but now I realize that it's not a big deal. It's just they're not my people, they're each other's only. If my ASD makes them not like me enough, that's their problem. Sure, I don't have a great filter, but it doesn't define me; nobody is perfect. I don't care if people find me weird or annoying. I don't care that my both my sisters have boyfriends and started dating at 16 while I've always been single. I don't care that I can't drive. I don't care that I appear dopey because of my learning disability. I don't care that I seem slow and helpless and do better with a guide than by myself (my boss basically said that to my face). I don't care that I still live with my mom. I don't care that I went to a small charter school than the "superior" public school that has many more activities, adventures, and organizations. I don't care about any of my weaknesses; I still have confidence in myself. It doesn't matter what others think of me, it's what I think of myself that matters. I will never fall for society's tricks again; society is buIIshit, and that would explain our government and political leaders. I say "SCREW NORMS!" I am absolutely fine the way I am, I say confidently. I am not a loser. A disabled man who doesn't match standards, yes, but not a loser. There is nothing wrong with being different. Different is good. Normal is boring.

It's almost as if our mood changes sometimes and a 20 minute video isn't the most accurate reflection of someone's life. Guy could be crying as I'm typing this for all we know.

Saw your other vid a while ago, I'm glad you made a follow up video. I think relationships are great but I also think having or not having a relationship shouldn't take away from the rest of your goals in life. It should be something that makes you happy, but not something that you need to be happy, if that makes sense. Take care.

6:50 so happy and kind of impressive that you mastered your emotions like that. What really sucks is it's normally the people who have gone through unsurmountable pain and mental confusion that come out on the other side stronger, like you have. Your words are proof.
I read something that said, "How can you become the person you wish to be... unless you live the life that you wish not to live? How can you be brave, unless you've felt fear? How can you be strong unless you were once weak?
Thank you for being you and inspiring people to live the life they wish to live. And when you do find love, which you will, it will be so genuine and mutual. And we can't wait to see it. 💎

Cudos to you my brother. You probably don't even realize but you are doing so much good for the world by sharing your story and being unashamedly vulnerable. I am almost 28 and I've also never had a girlfriend. I've gone through it all man.. suicidal ideation, overthinking spirals, private emotional breakdowns. One thing I've learned through it all is that mindset is most important. If you talk down about yourself, you will stay down. I'm so happy to see the positivity radiating from you now. Honestly dude, and I'm not even BS'ing, but you honestly aren't unattractive. Just by the way you're carrying yourself in this video is instantly better than how I perceived you in the last. You're not making excises for yourself and asking for pity. That right there is beautiful. You will find a woman who will be so lucky to have you someday. Just keep up the good work. I'm progressing along with you bro. Sending you my love and respect 🙏

Life isn't fair, that's just the way it is. Everyone is born with different privileges that are completely out of our control. There's a movie called "Falling Down" with Michael Douglas that really hits hard and drives home that reality.

Wow! I just discovered your channel from this other video you are talking about. And now, this one. You've done such an amazing shift ! Thank you for sharing 🙏
Recently, I've been studying about healing depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma and relationships with the Centre for Healing. They have many free videos and I truly believe that you could benefit from them for your healing journey. They summerize very well all the new scientific discoveries that have been found in neurosciences and psychotherapy. Matt and Ryan explain so very well what's going on in our nervous system and why it shows up as depression or anxiety.
I wish you all the best ❤

So basically, don't obsess, fixate, and crave a relationship and try to make it the basis of your happiness? The "only once I have this, I will be happy"? And focus on what you love doing?
I think I understand what you're talking about because I think I'm going through the same thing.
I've been trying to let go of this fixation on being in a relationship and being okay with myself and accepting myself even if I'm not in a relationship. So that I can be more present in the moment and receptive to what I am experiencing and feel more happy and healthy in general.

Even though it may seem like such a small thing, learning to let go of our ego is one of the most important things we can do.
