I was just looking for a tutorial on Hyprland and this video literally dropped by today. I almost forgot about your channel despite being subscribed to you as I've watched a lot of your installation guides.
basically all those problems will be gone if u use AMD instead of Nvidia GPU, I'm using nouveau driver because the proprietary nvidia driver is so frustrating if u want to use wayland. Buying Nvidia was the biggest mistake of my life 😔
@@NovaspiritTech maybe I should revisit proprietary driver again because it was a lot worse than just missing cursor before,I had the entire WM crashing randomly and browser hanging problem when I tried it a long time ago.
90% of Gaming computers run on Nvidia graphics so don't blame yourself. Nvidia is the Google of Gaming. Atleast the hyprland project understands that not every user has the money to just replace their Nvidia GPU with an AMD one in order to gain support from project maintainers.
GNOME KDE Panteon window managers? O.o that is a weird statement, GNOME KDE are full blown desktop suites, not window managers ... GNOME uses Mutter as it's window manager, and KDE uses KWin
I would like to see more of this. I tried hyperland a few months ago when it was causing random Firefox crashes. And I had to go back to Qtile. But I'm on this adventure with you now and it would be cool to do it with someone who is not quite on Brody Robinson's level. I am also using vanilla Arch, BTW.
Funny enough SWAY is the Wayland variant of I3 developed by a Wayland developer of whom is in a group of X11 devs phasing out X for Wayland. Hyprland takes SWAY (inspiration) to a new level with built in animations and "ricing" designed to be friendly concerning integrations like custom menuing systems and bars which it's all getting better with time. I feel SWAY, Hyprland and Wayfire are all awesome Wayland compositors. Good vid.

I absolutely love the content in this video! There is a small change you should probably make though! Your tag Line.. Hyprland uses Wayland. Wayland doesn't have WM's, it has Compositors. It's a pretty important differentiation!
A heads up - Manjaro keeps its repos held back by two weeks from the Arch repos. It would be a much more stable choice (counterintuitively) to use a distro called EndeavourOS due that it keeps up to date with the Arch repos.
Hey I really would be interested in seeing more about this with a fresh install of Arch. I’m particularly interested in whether or not Hyperland could be used as a window manager for Plasma. Or am I thinking wrong? I haven’t used Linux in a long time and back then none of this stuff existed. At least not like now.

Like it but is only arch linux has it pre installed Arch linux will not touch my systeem because i have nothing but problems With arch i cant find it pre installed on Ubuntu you can install it but it not easy
ins't there a installation script that install some themes and configs? (I saw that there's a install script to install Hyprland on Ubuntu, you just use git, chmod the install file, and run it, and boom, you're using hyprland on Ubuntu, lol)
Lost faith in this video right at the beginning when you said Gnome and KDE were window managers... Those are Desktop Environments, DEs. Window managers are something else.
it really doesn’t have to be this complicated. if you were to install linux mint you’d have a very fine time and probably wouldn’t have to use the terminal at all

Thanks 🙏 for the tip about the nvidia Wayland fix. Fixed all my issues (sluggy performance) on Arch with hyperland and Nvidia 1070.

… or it could be fixed in Wayland instead? Why should I depend my hardware decision on what my window manager can handle?
Proprietary works well for me
Note: X11 and Wayland are not compositors, they are window systems. The compositors and window managers use that backbone to interact with.

0:30 gnome kdes are desktop environments , while the dwm,bsp, awesome , hyprland are window managers.
gnome has its builtin windowmanger called mutter and kwin for kde

Webstorm has problems with pop-ups, with dragging and dropping tabs. But this is a known problem, but not known
when it will be fixed.

In my manjaro system, mouse isn't showing right click options. Also cannot do copy paste operations to the terminal. any help?
Why not login to other TTY instead of logging back to another DE when you only need yo install what you're missing

Sadly, my Asus refuses to run arch Linux. I would like to try it, but I will have to wait to buy another laptop
