"Don't get too excited and don't get too sad " is the KEY.

Definitely both fear *and* euphoria can be a mental trap. My Dad was asking me about my trading about 6 months ago, and he asked if I got excited about the wins. He was a little surprised when I told him that I didn't; I wanted my trading to be boring. Another key is the pre-acceptance of risk, as mentioned -- learned a lot of good insights about this from Mark Douglas (RIP).

As an lnvesting enthusiast, I often wonder how top level investors are able to become millionaires off investing. . I’ve been sitting on over $545K equity from a home sale and I’m not sure where to go from here, is it a good time to buy into stocks or do I wait for another opportunity?

Many individuals overlook the importance of advisors until their emotions cause them problems. I recall a few summers ago, after my lengthy divorce, I needed support to keep my business going. I searched for licensed advisors and found someone extremely qualified. She helped grow my reserve from $175K to $550K, despite inflation.

Successful investing/trading is hard work because it means disciplining your mind to do the opposite of human nature. Buying during a panic, selling during euphoria, and holding on when you are bored and just craving a little action. Investing is 5% intellect and 95% temperament.

Been trading for 18 years and in 2005 there were no such videos - it would have reduced my learning time drastically but then again maybe I would not have listened or learnt it without those huge losses. If you are new in your trading career my only advice is that this video is pure gold and to follow the rules presented here. I have developed a nearly identical set of rules but that cost me money!

And to the comment above, psychology is NEVER the biggest success element in trading. And yes I am making profits.

People are flocking to the dollar because they believe it is safer. I'm worried the rising inflation will cause my $420,000 retirement fund will loose value. What else can we do with our money.

If you wanna be successful, you most take responsibility for your emotions, not place the blame on others. In addition to make you feel more guilty about your faults, pointing the finger at others will only serve to increase your sense of personal accountability. There's always a risk in every investment, yet people still invest and succeed. You must look outward if you wanna be successful in life.

This is quite educational. It's crucial for newcomers to keep in mind that the financial markets are highly irrational in the short run. You should constantly be ready for the unexpected. That is how chance operates. Because of the inherent risks in the market, I always favor long-term investments.

When you started as a day trader, how many options contracts and days to expiry did you start with and how much stop loss on each contract? These are helpful ideas that can guide new traders. Experienced traders are not very specific in their advise. They will tell you to have rules, plans etc. What plans and what rules when you are new and learning. Giving examples are very helpful to new entrants to the market particularly number of shares and options contracts and specific amount of stop loss as a guide. The main reason new traders blow up their accounts.

To be 100% honest with you. I had the same question 4 years ago. I was confused as heck. Now copying other traders for over 3 years, I would like to tell you, YES copy trading is a good approach. Just keep in mind that the success of copying another trader lies in their transparency. Make sure you know who you are dealing with before copying them. My two cents.

This is precisely why I like having a portfolio coach guide my day-to-day market decisions: with their extensive knowledge of going long and short at the same time, using risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying it off as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, their skillset makes it nearly impossible for them to underperform. I've been utilizing a portfolio coach for more than two years, and I've made over $800,000.

Respect everything you saying.! Honestly every single thing you saying makes sense in trading. I have been trading for year and a half and lost around $27,000 in my first year but fortunately I learned from my mistakes I am now I’m making back what I lost. Biggest thing I learned was not to trade everyday but look for opportunities big gap up or down or big news also i never had problems let my lost take over my emotions I was pretty good at controlling my emotions because I only invested what I was willing to loss and I think think about my lost instead I viewed them as investment and opportunity to learn and grow my knowledge. I kept falling down and I kept getting up and I finally learned how to walk.!

The market trend can turn around very quickly. In fact, the indexes often switch from a bear market to a bull market when the news is at its worst and the mood of investors is at its lowest point. I read an article of people that grossed profits up to $150k during this crash, what are the best stocks to buy now or put on a watchlist?
