- This ridiculous spiritual bracelet ad appeared as a youtube ad a week ago. It was making so many promises and claims that I couldn't stop myself from reacting to it in a video.

I watch several version of these ads. There are lots of clues that the ads are fake.

Can confirm: A lot of people have no idea what pseudo means. When some people hear it, all that registers is, "I can't spell it, and it sounds smart, and it comes before the word science. It must be the real deal."
True story. Probably they think: "Pseudo-science? That's probably science which is so good that scientists can't even explain!"
I will say this: the bracelet looks nice. I'd wear it for the fashion!
Nothing wrong with wearing for looks, for sure :) What frustrates me though is that this ad is clearly preying on people who lack critical thinking to understand that it's just a thing

This the thinking process that will prevent homo sapiens to evolve: being too naive and wanting to believe magical shit INSTEAD OF DO THINGS BY YOURSELF.
This thing with "Feng Shui" is to promote better luck. Some people are just more lucky then others. Items isn't going to work. Its a natural luck of the draw and no one can control it.
If you sell 100 items to 100 people. The chance is out of those 100 people not all of them are unlucky. A small portion may have extremely good luck and they will promote the item.
I have a safety charm from a temple. I like to believe it keeps me safe when I driving. However I'm not naive enough to hit a tree to test out the power of the safety charm

In my previous gym some scammers went in and advertised their "Chi stickers" They claim that it's the latest Japanese tech. Linguistically it's already laughable cause they use Chinese terms yet claim that it is Japanese tech. During the demo they would ask someone to stand squared as they push/pull them out of balance, they would then let them hold the sticker then pretend to struggle. I tried debunking them but they wouldn't let me stand in a balanced position (one foot forward). What's bizzare is that they managed to fool some Boxers/Ex-boxers into buying this sham product.
I hate when scammers put their own conditions and limitations to make their scams work and then use it as "proof" 😂
The last point you made about boxers is interesting too. I witnessed on more than one occasion that people who are generally grounded in one field, may still fall prey in being shamed in another.

I don't know if it is possible to extract information just by touching, but I bought a book called "How to talk about books you haven't read" (Pierre Bayard) and Damm, what a great book about not-reading techniques (techniques that teachers and academics in general uses all the time to not-read their students thesis and still be able to talk about it and even evaluate it). So, anyway, people, you should read this book I am suggesting... Seriously!! :D

So, grateful for your video. Thanks for breaking all this down & exposing the truth about the ads & their claims. Preying on people's misfortunes & giving them false hope not based on scientific studies should be a crime.
By the way, I got a brasalet like this free, it was a gift from a teacher of mine, nothing had changed but it looks pretty in my desk. Great video,its a shame that you dont have a spanish channel, my family is full of crazy people that believes in this nosenses, and tell me that I'm a "closed mind fool" for not have mystical believes.

It is very important the crítical thinking development, in many fields, such Martial arts, and oriental stuff, there is many mythology. In my family I am an outcast because, a lot of my uncles and aunts, belive, in a very deep way, almost fanaticatly, in conspiracies, reptilian people, anunaky, or what ever is called, mystic peace alíens and they argue with my a lot for not believe in the "indiscutible facts that are hidden to the people, just look at that facebook or that youtube channel the proof are to the taking" one of this very heavy fights was for a stuff called MMS or miracle saline, solution, or Chlorine dioxide, that Supposedly cures the covid 19, cáncer, Aids, malaria, and even uglyness, but, no real facts, just drink
Chlorine and wait for the magic, and many people here in latinoamerica get very sick for drink that awful thing, but i'm the idiot with very close mind, I was really bullied by my uncles, when I stop them when they try to give that crap to My father and grampa, telling to them there was no evidencie or scientific proof, and almost get beated and for almost 3 months get harrassment in the whatapp groups and in face to face, just for not gave crédit to that nosense. Thanks Rokas, I hope you can give us advice to the posibility of how to train bjj in the gym that you go in the EEUU, I live in a country with no many help for sports people. Living surrounded by crazy people it's easy to start believing that you are actually crazy and that they are sane, but what's truth is truth, even if the majority of people around you is telling it's not. I understand your sentiment, but also too, most of the people who buy these are simply victims of a lack of education in critical thinking. Most of them are not hopeless and would be much better off if they just knew what to look out for. That's actually the very intention of this video and channel. To get more people there :)
