Full Credit to Louis C.K's show "Louie"
When I was like 12, Louie was the only person I could relate to, and when I reflect on that, it doesn't make me feel good
Same
😂😂😂
This is hilarious but I feel like it's not supposed to be lol
Wait until it doesn’t end well
Hilarious
“So anyways that’s why (callback to the weirdly juxtaposed first point I was trying to make)” is my favorite Louis tactic
That's... not a tactic, and it's definitely not a new invention either, it's stand up comedy 101
@@kova1729 A tactic is, "...an action or strategy carefully planned to achieve a specific end.".
There can be no question that it's an action planned to achieve a specific end. Is your contention therefore that Louis is not careful with the way he writes?
@Kova you may want to learn what the word tactic means

The “arguing well together” hits especially hard.
how he makes existential feelings into something so funny truly makes me happy. its like he puts all the confusion i have into the most perfect, hilarious words hahahahahaa
For some reason this whole bit made me weep. Every joke hit me where it hurts. It’s a very strange sensation.
Same here
They say the only way people can stand to listen to hard truths without becoming defensive & refusing to accept them is if they're delivered through comedy. You can't ever tell anyone in a serious way that none of their relationships will ever have a good ending without them hating you. But deliver it as a punch line & they'll pay for tickets to hear you say it.
You're gay as shit.
All conditional phenomena are in the nature of suffering. Amazing we can laugh at all.
Because it’s true.
😆
A comedian's curse and gift is being able to see the world for what it is. I guess the only choice we have is whether to laugh or cry
i just dance stangly to 60s music & my mood is on drugs, drugs that are cheap & healthy . (learn to dance to music, u like)
@@mistRJumpcut Metoo# 🤪🇬🇧
this.
everyone has the ability to see the world for what it is, you idiot. a comedian's "curse and gift" is it to point out the absurdity in it.
Louis is on a whole other level of comedy. Please never stop producing new material
He’s still got great stuff but this is really old.
I hope I die b4 he stops doing standup
@@NYCMarkus He makes a completely different show with different jokes in all of his specials, so you're not making much sense.
this bit is like 10+ yrs ago
He’s 55 now so this clip is older than most people in the comments.
One of the best bits by anyone ever
Truly
@@ImNotLouis you should just say thank you louis
We're all gonna die, quoting Louis C.K actually... That's arguably our ultimate goal in life.
Dog deaths are some of the most painful situations to go through but this was FUNNY AF!

The misery of life will never go away, and it will never leave you alone. You all might as well come to terms with it so it won't bother you so much
That’s some Marcus Aurelius level stoicism right there
@@DonRoyalX what does stoicism mean?

I like dating at 40. I dont really care if it doesnt work out and I know all the tricks n games women play. Just live for each day, dont torture yourself with what might happen.
My man is spitting facts. I had the best case scenario, and now she passed away and it hurts so much...
Hey Russ sorry for ur loss. Nothing like a loving relationship. And it hurts to lose one. I know we’ll too. Your not alone.
Give it time brother. Be thankful for all u shared and that will help ease the pain - and if that doesn’t work read the comments here to see how fortunate u both were to have each other. Stay strong and God bless 🙏🏼
Same. I hate to tell u the truth, but it doesn’t get better , i hope your situation is different and does..
Oldy but goody. Love Louis!
It feels strange laughing and crying. Brilliant!
Like his bits but this was one of the most depressing bits I've ever heard, cuz it's undeniably true. I was also on an absurd 9 day drinking bender around the holidays walking to an awful depressing bar restaurant the first time I heard it.
a bar restaurant?? that sounds like a great idea! 🍸😋
Yikes. Hope you gave up the booze
Nothing is true unless u believe it into reality. Besides how optimistic a romantic could he be if he was pulling his dick out wo asking ?😂. Always consider the source. YOU R LIMITLESS
The content is tragic. The form is comedic. Like life.
It is true, but it isn't. Life is meant to lived in the moment, not to think about the end. Just enjoy the moment(s), that's what you will take with you, and that's what people will remember from you.
Thank you Louie for helping us laugh through it! Hope for many more years of your wonderful sense of humor.
This is Buddhism in a nut shell
Greatest of all time no contest
That's a fact.
This is gold…morbid af but gold 😂😂
I'm 41, two kids, wife just left after 10 years... I'm listening.
Heart goes out to ya brother.... I'm 3 years ahead, and it does get better (shitty PSA platitude, i know)
Spend the money on good lawyers and get as much time as possible with your kids.
I like meeting different girls and enjoying their company, yet still be able to have space. It's kinda great to not be fucked with daily or required to do things you don't want to.
That said, I'm real sorry for the pain... it's rough for awhile, but there's a light if you're looking 🕯️
This is pretty much what the Buddha said
This is what comedy is really about deep down.
To laugh about the tragedy of existence.
Yes, laughter is truly medicine
Only sad stories yet everybody's laughing. I cracked half a smile at "are you shitting me?"
GOAT
I have a theory that the reason I was a huge fan of Louis CK growing up was because other comedians were aiming to get on HBO or SNL whereas Louie just completely gave up on any hope of fame and just said whatever he felt was real and honest. And after his fame he maintained the standard of realness. I think he mentioned his writing process in an interview with Stephen Merchant.
BTW Louis Ck was being real and raw, while also constantly testing out his real and raw material in small rooms and dealing with constant bad feedback. Its not an easy process, its long and tedious and it brought Louie a huge backlash when he was secretly recorded testing out new bits and many people on twitter were angry at him.
Ummm...he did NOT give up on fame. What Louis did was create his own medium. He is one of, if not, THE first comedians to sell his own shows and specials on his own website, on his own terms. So he could pretty much do or say anything he wanted without any care in the world. There was no big corporation pulling his strings and shit like that.
it's not about the destination, it's about the journey young fellows. 60 yo here, widower, no kids, my 16 yo dog is about to go, I hug him more than ver. I saw and lived a lot, I went to all continents, except Oceania. I worked for many years as a volunteer at a boy's orphanage and today they all call me Uncle. 106 illustrated children's books. Don't be carried away by the sadness of the world. Love and be loved. there will often be pain and disappointment, but it will always be worth it
Louis CK always a bright beacon of hope lol
Truly the greatest. No one else would've been able to describe such a depressing subject in such a humorous light. I loved how efficiently and effectively Louis summarized the feeling of futility and hopelessness in everything that we do. It's somewhat comforting knowing that we all share the same sense of loneliness and sadness.
Quite possibly the funniest bit I’ve ever heard
Many people don't have giant comedy careers to start over with. Louie did alright.
Many people also aren't as funny as Louie.
Fantasticly deep.
Probably one of his best bits. A fav of mine for sure. So unredeeming it's beautiful
I would think living a life of loneliness filled in selfishness would be the worst form of life. Sure on the outside it's all puppies and ice cream but on the inside it's just bliss and peace. You need to share in the misery of being stuck with kids that hate you and a spouse that disdains you for true happiness.
What is “loneliness filled in selfishness”?
@@awesomebeast7509 a life of solidarity focused in thought about themselves
@@aceofspades6667 I didn’t know that was a bad thing to do. I seem to learn something new everyday.
@@awesomebeast7509 to each their own. But there’s an increasing mass of women who regret focusing on their careers and never having a family. That’s basically the gist of what OP’s saying
No one tells it like Louis. Miss his TV show so much 😂
The movie "Arrival" addressed this subject. Aliens give a lady powers to see into the future, including the untimely death of her teenage daughter from cancer. Knowing in advance, she chooses to fall in love and have the kid anyway. Because enjoying life while you can is still worth it. The opposite logic is: none of us should've lived. Nothing good ends well, but it's nice while we're here.
This is the first thing I've laughed out loud at, by myself, for I don't even know how long.
My dog is looking at me very strangely while I listen to this. Especially the mass grave part.
“Countdown to sorrow” great title for a special
Nothing like optimism! 😂
The way he says "dog" makes it even funnier
Where bill burrs comedy is rooted in anger and frustration, louie is nihilism and pessimism.
Both funny in different ways. High energy vs low energy.
Burr is an Optimist. A crusty one, but don't let his anger fool you. He's actuallly kind of a little bitch for getting upset at every minor delay in life.
Louie knows the horror. Made friends with it.
This video is like a masterclass on how to structure and execute a good joke.
Important question: Does the pain of something good coming to an end outweigh the positive memories that happened before then? Something that each person must think about in their own unique situation
It's already true at birth. You now must learn, change, lose, hurt, age and die.
That depends on whether you are depressed or manic.
"to grieve deeply is to have loved fully"
@@thereisnosanctuary6184Makes me wish i was never born to begin with lol.
@@billcipher3946
You never had a say in being conceived or born. What your name is, who your parents are. Your race, culture, sex. The era, place, socio-economic position, religion or language you are steeped in. You didn't choose your height or face or hair colour. You had no say in childhood where you moved, or what was for dinner.
You only have a little say as an adult: do I want to be alive? Do I want to make the best of it while alive? You have no say in whether you die or not, just how soon. And maybe not even that. With what little freedom you have, use it.
Louie is the man , my type of comedy exactly.
I'm a single dad at 46...dating is ridiculous.
I think by 46 you should just hang up the phone on dating. Isn't it just kinda grotesque to even be trying at that age?
@@imageword5576 Dude, I'm 46 not 86 lol.
@@je25ff At least he had the decency to use an old timey metaphor like "hang up the phone" so your old ass could understand.
46 year olds watched the original Star Wars at the theater, played with the first Transformers, played Super Mario Kart, smoked weed, got phone numbers instead of DMs.
46 isn't old anymore. It's just what life does to everyone: chews you up, spits you out.
I personally cannot speak to the automatons born today.
True talk. That's y anything that brings happiness especially with relationships especially with women every day you are together you'd be pacing in your heart cause you know it could end any minute.
This material is about 10 years old and it’s still f--ing funny!
Laugh or cry. I try to pick laughter.
Both and sometimes you don't which Is which
The upside to this nihilistic message is that most bad things don’t last either.
100% true all the way through. No wonder "they" tried to get rid of him.
Oh come on lol, you know why. I love louis btw.
I literally don’t get how people have large dogs. They live for like 8 or 9 years, and they are the closest to a human companion, in comparison to small dogs or cats who can live up to 18 years and beyond. I could not do it. I’ve always had cats, most of them lived till 19, and losing them was still impossibly hard.
Because people are dumb?
Not too many comedians can get a laugh out of “a pile of dead dogs”
dog ownership has always bewildered me for that exact reason. its just count down until the saddest day of you and your children's life. also its weird that dog owner's have their dog's balls removed. wtf is that all about?? just casually having their pet's genitals mutilated.
Can you possibly go any darker than that? 😁 I love this dude
Is Louis back? I mean really back? Real - I mean real as in honest - comedy is saved.
"Either you break up or somebody dies" is what an old man used to tell me.
Still single and avoiding pain. Lol
Absolutely 1,000,000% true.
He's not wrong, and that's comedy.

This is why he’s the GOAT of comedy. Every bit of his is so layered and perfect and hilarious
I remember the very first comedy bit that i ever seen... gabriel eglasis on about a bus tour "what happens if it rains? Ya get wet"
When I was a kid there was a vet down the street from where we lived. One day when me and my friends were in the woods we came across one of those mass dog graves and I still have nightmares about it. There was a huge hole and dog skulls and maggots everywhere
lol, master of the circle back
That's what I thought when Louis was taken from us because a few people didn't want him around. I prefer to decide for myself who I'll watch and listen to.
Fuck censors. Always and everywhere.

Holy shit, this old material. I wanna say 2008.
Well that depressed the shit outta me
It’s funny because in his scenario, he is some sort of god who exists forever
jeeeesus .... this is brutal....at least there is a punchline at the end
My theory is a plane crash means it's safe to fly. No plane crashes in a long while means you're. going down in flames, screaming.
i know you say you're "not louis" but are you actually louis?
Why am I laughing at 'pile of dead dogs'? Only Louis CK can make that funny.
“Waiting my turn to be nothing” 😂😂
i have a tattoo of this sentence
that is so true
The first thought I had when my ex and I made it official was “countdown to sadness”. Took 5 years but it happened lol
yep, life is lke that, so its better not to think about it, laugh while you can
Always easy said and done
No offense to you, i rather wish i was born as a golden retriever instead of a human being. Because having the human mind feels like curse never stop wanting and craving for any purpose or pleasure.
Damn bro I feel like if anybodies got this life shit figured out its loui for real
fr fr brah lowkey sus brah, lets go, fam.

It's much sadder of a life to not put effort into thing because you know they'll end poorly
I look at a new episode of the Cheek Clappers Podcast the way a family of meek medieval peasants look at a fresh loaf of bread. Ah, sustenance. Life. Preservation. Joy. (͠≖ ͜ʖ͠≖)👌
Nothing good lasts forever. How many of us are still friends with our 1st Grade best friend? Or married our high school sweet-heart?
This time four years ago my friends and I parted ways. And after a little soul-searching I came to realize two things:
1. There isn't a lot of advice on how to deal with friendships breaking up. But looking at romantic break-up advice can be helpful, but you just have to water it down a bit.
2. It's all about balance, boundaries, and communication.
Louis is a Buddhist monk without actually realising it. So much of his more recent stuff makes it abundantly clear.

A dog mass grave is every bit as depressing and awful as it sounds, Louie basically describes the plot to Detroit: Become Human, where a discarded android comes back to life after being thrown onto a scrap heap after being presumed dead, returns to take revenge.
Damn Louie..
Thank you Louie.. 🤣😂🖕
I think Louis c.k. has been reading ecclesiastic. :-) he just doesn't understand what he's reading... GO to chabbad
So true about being 41, divorced, 2 kids and then you try dating someone new. It’s nothing like when you were 21 and dating and nothing like you were 31 and getting married for the first time. At 41 you both know relationships are compromised and not great - just desperation because being alone is worse. So you can be a couple or miserable and alone…
It goes both ways, I would imagine. Anything that makes you sad gives appreciation to what makes you happy. But everything happy does come to an end. Depending on circumstances, it could be a catch 22.
So profound
Baffling dichotomy
Nothing nothing good ends well ,especially when Louie looks at you and laughs, hand full sweat flowing down his face pants around his ankles and him repeatedly saying …. Mmm that’s dirty.
This is straight out of the Buddha's Teachings. He explains that happy feelings, like all feelings, are impermanent.
That's horrible sad story. Everything happened so fast and to know part of your love is death in hole like garbage its sad. I feel bad for him
This is hilarious but it’s also the basis for Buddhism. There is suffering with anything in life. But that doesn’t mean we can’t laugh at it!
What makes Buddha a special kind of guy?
"...and you'll get divorced, and split your friends & money..."
Brilliant visualism.
worst advice lol
Dog thing is a Carlin joke. Took his tragedy joke about pets and made it long.
Paul F Tompkins had a bit forever ago about getting a puppy being a "countdown to heartache."
George Carlin did a bit how when you get a new dog, you need to know upfront it's not going to end well.
My little guy is 15, can't hear, takes thyroid medication, enlarged heart, suspect liver cancer. He's still got some life, he's not really suffering, but I know his time is approaching. I'm just hoping he goes in his sleep cause brining him to the vet to be put down is going to be horrible. I can honestly say I love him more than any human I've known, alive or dead.
