Hey guys, a couple of quick corrections & clarifications 1) Apparently there is 1 new Inkling amiibo costume. 2)The Mercedes-Benz DLC has been confirmed to be in the game. And 3) The 2-item system, though similar to other Mario Karts, is a bit different in that you don't have to drag an item for the 2nd.
Finally, I forgot to include any questions about my HD Rumble impressions. In short, it's neat but doesn't really stand out much. You'll feel a quick bump when you collect coins or earn a mini turbo, and a slightly *harder* one when breaking open item boxes or getting speed boosts. Also, you'll feel the controller vibrate a bit roughly when you go off road, like in the sand.

If you need a list of reasons why this game is definitely worth it:
* Proper battle mode added with 5 game modes and 5 completely new arena tracks plus 3 returning ones
* Now native 1080p60fps (even in 2 player splitscreen) instead of upscaled 720p and an odd 59ish fps on the WiiU
* Fire hopping exploit removed, but purple boosting stage added to compensate
* Complete rebalance of stats on almost all karts and parts to balance the game and nerf heavies a bit
* Can now switch character and kart while in the lobby, no longer have to back out
* Can now hold two items at once, no more getting stuck with just one coin
* Everyone has ALL the DLC now since it is included and unlocked from the beginning - this means maps can now all be weighed equally and will appear equally as often online, no more either this or that
* New items, characters, karts and parts
Yes, it's absolutely worth keeping that in mind. We're jumping from a home console to a handheld here. Given that going from 720p60fps to 1080p60fps is pretty amazing in its own regard. I don't think people could ask for anything more in that aspect.
But is the item system reverted back to the original?

The ability to see who had which items was what made me like MK8 so much. There was just something satisfying about getting better to the point of being able to firehop while taking your eyes off the road to get a better idea of who's able to do what. I hope other people will still play the Wii U version online.

In other Mario Kart games you only got a second item while you're already carrying an item like the shells or bananas. Here you can just flat out carry two items at once.
I'm so hyped for this game next week! My dads getting it at midnight for me and next friday we get to bring devices at school and I can play mario kart with them
A couple corrections: the Mercedes karts do return and there is one new Splatoon themed amiibo suit.
I have two questions:
1) A News bulletin in the switch said you could brake in 200cc mode, which you could do already in the Wii U version, is there a difference?
2) Are there dynamic reflections in the Switch version, a la Fast RMX, opposed to the static specular maps in the Wii U version (this can easily be determined in SNES Rainbow Road with a metallic character) ?

I wish they make a mario kart on switch that is like a sequel to double dash. It makes sense because you can "switch" characters. They should also make the best roster that includes characters like birdo and diddy while also having newcomers. They should also bring back the mega mushroom and have at least 10 battle stages. This probably won't happen but I think it would be the best mario kart.
especially considering the 2 item thing they should have at least added a Double Dash mode...and 2 new cups ffs...
One of the final sections of sunshine airport is perfect for the purple sparks (P.S it is purple not pink)

I'm going to miss checking to see what item my opponents has via the Wii U gamepad screen. I'm going to have to look closely on what they're holding on hand and predict if they have a second item once they use the first item.
Deluxe I feel is going to play very differently from the Wii U version.

Having 2 items might make it a little easier to front run since you'll have that second item for defense. Assuming of course the second item isn't a frickin coin.
I like the power-up that Dry-Bones uses.... 1. He causes a nuclear bomb to go off. 2.. He turns into a Squid Kid. I WANT THIS POWER-UP!!
Some good answers. Certainly hyped about the new battle mode, and even without any new race tracks, this is probably going to beat the amount of time I spent on the Wii U version. One week to go, then I'm playing this portable.

You dont need the app to use voice chat, thats separate feature. you can still plug in a headphone + mic into the switch for voicechat.
The experience of following this stuff is surreal if you're like me and never had a Wii U

Can you use motion controls for the pro controller like the Wii U Gamepad. (This can also apply to Joy-Con grip and Handheld mode).
Also, when using normal controls can you shake to do tricks.

I love ya Gamexplain but what is there to know? It's Mario Kart 8 Switch version. New battle mode, a few new characters like King Boo, Bowser Jr, and Inkling boy and Inkling girl. Nuff said!! I'm excited for the battle mode though!!

if you haven't noticed auto drift is in the normal Mario Kart 8. Just turn without drifting and you should see a spark

all I want to know is if you see a friend playing online can you join them, you couldn't do that in the WiiU version which is crap cause you could do it on the 3DS on mario kart 7. sometimes I wanna play with friends and randoms and not want to host for like an hour and get lucky if a friend decides to join.

Honestly I wanted to be able to hold two items but not like this. I wanted it to be like other titles where you could for example hold the item button and have the green shell behind you. Then you could grab a second item. I did not want a totally new slot and still have the holding item = slot problem. Oh well the game is still amazing.

Hey Andre, is it possible to turn on or off smart steering for specific players? And is it possible to turn it on or off in a tournament?
The Mercedes Benz kart pieces have been confirmed to be unlockable just like any other vehicle part in another video. Also there is one new amiibo costume being the Splatoon one
What I am curious about is how Ultra mini-turbos affect 200cc. Once 200cc hit the Wi U version, I could never go back to 150cc willingly. 200cc + Ultra mini-turbos sounds... volatile.

I got a question for a small pet peeve in one of my favorite levels. When you're doing Electodrome, when I hit the speed boost bumper when it splits into two roads, it slows me down like I hit a wall when I should be boosting, have you had these issues at all in this version of the game? I know a few others do but this is the one that gives me the most problems.
