Carlos Gonzalez Activity Log. 3DS version is better because you can list your games by most played or alphabetically or by longest avarage session. Wii U version lists every game you played by day or month, i believe, and that's all it lists.

My last Nintendo product was the n64. I bought the switch on black Friday and I am just loving it.
Reasons why I´m getting mk8 deluxe even though I have mk8 on wii u:
-It´s Mario Kart 8 on the go!
-It´s more chaotic(and i hope they improved the CPU´s as well, because they were way too easy)
-Battle mode looks AWESOME!
-It´s Mario Kart 8 on the go!
-My Wii U is pretty much dead now that i got a switch so it´s much easier to just have mk8 on switch instead.
-And It´s Mario Kart 8 on the go.

If you do have Mario Kart 8 but without DLC buy Deluxe
If you do have Mario Kart 8 with DLC wait for a price drop

I don't understand why people are complaining about this games pricing for a number of reasons
1:The original Mario kart 8 costed 60 bucks, and that was without the dlc and new deluxe stuff.
2: It's incredibly stupid to think that Nintendo would make the game cheaper just to please the small fan base that even had a Wii U, let alone owned the game.
3:It's a port. It's made for the people who didn't get to play it on an older console. It's not meant to be a completely new game
And this is coming from someone who owns the Wii U version
EDIT: And in terms of the argument of there being a discount if you have the game, if you sell the game and use the money from it towards the switch version, that's essentially a discount cause you're not going to need the Wii U version anyways

The Super Horn is not useless in first place it protects you from Blue shells AND other shells too if you time it right
AcesofJustice It kinda is though. It's the only protection from blue shells, so you don't want to waste it. If you use it on other things, it is kinda a waste since shells and bananas do the same thing. Plus, horns are rare while blue shells aren't.

Thank you for mention the last player standing balloon battle. It seems like players forget about this mode, which is why I think battle mode in Mario kart 8 wiiu, is better, because it has that last man standing mechanic.

I doubt it, Andre would have told us it there was.
btw I think it's because all of the item boxes in Toad Turnpike move across the track, and Nintendo might have forgot to apply the doublebox model to these. If true, it should also happen in Baby Park.

now i know why i'm so excited for Super Mario Odyssey. it's the first Mario game in a long time to actually look alive.
when Mario Kart 8 came out, lamented that there was more life, more detail in a racing game of all things. it annoyed me to see sterile worlds in the platformers, the games where exploring mattered, where a living world would be welcome. Toad's Turnpike and other city tracks fascinated me. i wished for a Mario game with an explorable city. and years later my wish will come true! i'm not just excited for a Mario game. i'm excited for the Worlds in a Mario game.

It seems like an awesome game. The graphics looks great along with the newer looks of the game in general compared to the previous games that I still own. I just don’t think the price of $59.99 for retail is reasonable at all, $40 maximum as the price would’ve been fine.

I have Mario Kart 8 for Wii U, but I never bought any of the DLC's even though I wanted to, so this is a good chance to get them along with a new battle mode.

Before I start I am a big fan of your channel I have been checking back every day for new videos and they are all equally impressive and well thought. I like Mario Kart too and I think that you should in my opinion (of course if you don't want to that's fine by me) e-mail Nintendo on your review and Q&A so they acknowledge your interest and other people's because (if you want to) it is preferable that you do it because these are your videos and if someone else were to do it from your videos it wouldn't be right and also since it is an upgrade on Mario Kart 8 it could be even more successful than Mario Kart Wii. I mean they could do two battle cups like they did in Mario Kart Wii for example which was pretty cool in my opinion because of having a 'demo' of the previous Mario Kart games in Battle Mode.

Mario Cart DS was was one of my all-time favorite games. It was basically perfect. I could see myself getting a switch just for this game.
The battle mode looks insane!
Hopefully they end up adding more courses as DLC down the line. I wouldn't mind if they kept this as the only Mario Kart for Switch, but continue to add more content.

I'm getting it for three reasons:
It's a more enhanced version of the game I love
My friends didn't really bother with the Wii U, but they have the Switch so I can play MK8 with them now
It's Nintendo

Honestly, for me personally, it really isn't worth it. I bought all the DLC and the game day one back when it got released. This game wouldn't leave such a sour taste in my mouth if the Switch actually had more games. I wouldn't mind skipping it as much, but this is a HUGE title for everyone EXCEPT a small amount of people who bought the game on the Wii U, and sadly I'm part of this number. I liked Mario Kart 8 and all, but this purchase is just way too hard to justify. I might pick this game up when it goes on sale, but as of right now I refuse to play this game.
It's a shame that people on here are actually saying "it's your fault for supporting the Wii U". So, what? Are they just gonna keep giving us these ports that offer almost nothing to those of us that already played the gane? I know MK8D has a LOT of content but most of it was in the old game.
Anyway, I won't be picking this up and instead am going to pick up Kamiko and Puyo Puyo Tetris. Sorry, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, you just aren't worth it for me.

Entirely not worth buying this again on the Switch, pretty disappointed they didn't make this more accessible for those with the Wii U game already, like 50% off on the eshop or something.
I understand they want to use it to sell the Switch but it kinda shits on those of us which purchased the Wii U and the Switch.

I'm getting this for the battle mode and the portability. Just like Andre, I played Mario kart 8 a lot on the Wii U, and am glad that I can get an upgraded version with the DLC that I paid for already in it, that is portable unlike the Wii U version.

@GameExplain How is this game if you're a weapons first racer? Are the tracks too wide for weapon mastery to pay off like in 1-6? Even in wide track mkwii I was able to memorize and master choke points to out smart and out skill my opponents, let alone the prior entries, but MX8 seems to have no good setup spots for item jamming/placement memorization/strat/counter strat and other high end weaponry play. Is this the case or is there a way for me to have fun and win more in deluxe than wii-u (in normal mode, best believe I'll battle mode it up)?
Andre, at 2m55s, you say "but now, you can keep it as a backup item". You said in another video (50 questions) that you can't switch the items.
How can you keep something as a backup? Only if you pick it as the secondary item, no? If the horn shows up as your first item, nothing changes, it seems.

I own a Wii U which I bought back in December 2014 along with Mario Kart 8, but don't own a Switch yet, but am planning to buy one soon. Mario Kart 8 has easily been my favorite Mario Kart of all time. I own all of the others in the series as well & still play them all from time to time. I was originally not gonna buy MK8 Deluxe when I buy a Switch, but now I'm going to & will be worth it. I would gladly buy any of the Mario Kart games again! Nintendo could possibly stop supporting online mode for the Wii U within the next year since it's been discontinued for months now & that the Switch has been a huge sales success so far.

King Bradberry the game mechanics were completely broken. you could ride in 1st place for the entire first lap and then get hit by one red shell and never be able to reclaim first place. it was the first Mario Kart i played where i felt like skill was thrown out entirely. you just have to hope nothing goes wrong. meanwhile with Mario Kart 8, i could be hit by multiple blue shells and red shells each lap and still be able to finish at a good place. MK8 felt balanced and fair, MK7 felt broken and aggravating

I might have to pick this up after all. I'd love to introduce my 3-year-old daughter to Mario Kart and the auto-accelerate and steering options would let us all play as a family. She's tried playing MK8 and forgets to accelerate or steer, so this would be perfect. Not looking forward to rebuying this game plus more joy cons though.

I am 11 now and I had the VERY first mario cart game for my dsi when I was four, I still have it now and still play it till this day. I will never get sick of mario cart and i am getting it for my switch next week and im super exited to try it out :)

Honestly, I am very excited for this port! When I first got my Switch and had actual time to sit down and play with it, I noticed right then and there that this system is what I would want to play Mario Kart and Smash Bros on. I like how the Switch controls and I like the availability of being able to take my games anywhere I go with me. I also like how the buttons on the Joy Cons don't feel exactly like the 3DS and instead feel more like the Wii U Pro Controller, this means that I will be able to play a Mario Kart game on the go while not having to experience much pain by hand cramps longer than Mario Kart 7 on the 3DS! In Mario Kart 7, my hands would cramp badly just after I get past one three lap track, and that just hurts when you want to play Mario Kart on the go. But with this Switch port I will be able to finally play one of my favorite games wherever I go without having to worry about hand cramps as much and the Switch just overall feels like the system that I would want to play Mario Kart on! :)
Have you tried pressing y to accelerate? That reduced my cramps a lot

Wasn't too fond of this game when it was announced, considering that they didn't even add any new race tracks. However, after this review and seeing how cool battle mode is, this game seems lit

I only ever got to play Mario Kart 8 at my friends house, getting my own copy with the four DLC cups, characters, a battle mode very similar to Double Dash's has me stoked, day one buy for me!
I've had an on/off affair with Nintendo. I've had most the Gameboy generations and finally stopping at the first gen Advance. Because back then, trading games and equipment didn't mean you had to remortgage, I could afford to own an N64 on several occasions, I have very fond memories with that console. Then years later I tried a DS and literally fell in love immediately. The operating system and friend capabilities, online gaming, the genius adaption of a dual screen with amazing titles to play (I played Metroid Prime Hunters to death). Then I didn't touch it for years, the Switch (lite) to me was just an evolution of Nintendo's excellent handhelds. I finally decided to bite the bullet and pick up a Switch Lite. So far I've only really got Pokémon, but its honestly amazing, playing a childhood game that's as beautifully made as this, a perfect remake of the classic I played to death is simply a joy. I loved playing Mario kart online on the DS so I think this will be my next game!
Also dying to find out more about the upcoming Metroid Prime 4! Oh man! I should definitely of grown out of this shit by now but I can't help but love a good game.
Actually, I found that the Megahorn is useful for dealing with all shells, not just blue ones. Those Red Shells are far more frequent are are an absolute pain to deal with, and if you don't have a shell or a banana to protect you then the Megahorn's your best bet.

I just realized they more or less HAD to add double item boxes back into the game since every track had only 2 rows of item boxes compared to the usual 3 + additional ones that might be scattered around certain shortcuts and corners.
I'm still torn about 3-4 players not being at 60fps, the option not to choose the original retro course music and choosing Inklings over CAPTAIN FALCON OR EXCITE BIKER, but it'll still be a fun game.
Also, this series officially became Nintendo Racing after Inklings were added.
I LOVE that they added changing your character online without leaving the lobby!
I never owned it on Wii U, but I will get it on Switch. I hope when they get the virtual console going that I can download all the older MarioKart games as well. I LOVED MK64 and the original SNES game.

In the double power up boxes, is it possible to get the same power up in both of them? I think that happened in double dash for me.
35 characters...? Did you add a correction speech bubble I can't see cause im on moblie or did you miscount 42 (43 if you count gold mario) for 35? Thats a 7 (8) character difference so it cant be the 5 new ones you mentioned in the video.
