Speaking of Bonham, that little riff of his during the finale is so powerful that it just shakes the Earth itself. The guy was a beast. I have yet to hear any opening to Rock and Roll that even comes close to that thunder that he produced.
Let me tell you pups how it went down in the 70's. Damned near every high school dance ended with stairway to heaven. You grabbed that lady you liked, and you slow danced to Stairway to Heaven, but when Jimmy Page kicked into his solo and the tempo kicked in, if that lady kept slow dancing with you, you had something going on!! But if she pushed away and started to fast dance? Well, enjoy your dance, cuz the night is coming to an end!! :) Play it again, imagine a lady you like, imagine she keeps her head on your shoulder as the rest of the gymnasium is rocking out!!!!! TRUTH!! Thanks for respecting the tunes of my day, even though it almost put you to sleep!! :) .
i think the same with free bird...in that 70s show too, when kelso and jackie dance to free bird at the prom, and the fast part kicks on and they keep slow dancing
There is a technique called "active listening"... Its different from regular listening. Musicians know what the difference is. When this guy says right when the song ends that the other guy was not listening... he means it. There's different types of listening... and it looks like 2 out of 4 here figured out the secret ;) Knowing how to ride the ride and go on the journey is often a skill in and of itself. Its an emotional vulnerability... Friends circles always have different types and that's ok. but, may you all get it one day. It's real special.
Yall gotta check out more of this bands music. Since I've been loving you Dazed and confused I cant quit you babe Kashmir In my time of dying You shook me Achilles last stand
Led Zeppelin is my favorite band and I have to disagree. Robert Plant's live vocals unfortunately weren't up to par with everything before mid 1972. The version on How the West Was Won a much better performance, and definitely the best official release.
Tbh though this is my opinion, very iconic moment for Led Zeppelin, that's also the only reason why when someone talks about MSG they always come to my mind. It's everyone's likings guys.
@@BilliamBillion How the West Was Won is Zeppelin at their peak, according to Jimmy Page. Although I love The Song Remains the Same due to the DVD, there's no denying that musically they were much sharper on How the West Was Won.
I love watching reactions to vintage rock song like this one. This is a song that was so edgy when I was a kid... You'd be at a party and someone would put their big brother's Led Zep album on and everyone started vibing... getting wasted and talking about deep shit,, feelin all grown up hahaha good times You guys all started head banging at the same time in the video (5:25). Imagine if you'd never heard music like this before, and how much it would affect you, like it's some mystical magical fantasy - that's what it was like for me & still is.
I was reading your comments and saw something about "black reactors" (I assume they meant you) but I just wanted you to know I couldn't care less if you were purple or beige or iridescent green because this is all about the music. There's even a lyric in this song you're reacting to that speaks to this: "And if you listen very hard The tune will come to you at last WHEN ALL ARE ONE AND ONE IS ALL To be a rock and not to roll." I interpret that lyric using the universal meaning that "All is One". That the same basic essence permeates everything that exists. And only having "compassion" for those who are in your in-group, and then vilifying or even becoming violent toward those who you perceive as the out-group, is not only antithetical to world peace more broadly, but is also counter-productive to political progress that advances the greater good of all humans on this planet. It's weird how this comment is sounding like a #BlackLivesMatter rant - because I didn't intend it that way. But I think that sums up the basis for the #BLM philosophy that equality is a fundamental right, and that everyone deserves to be treated with compassion and fairness (especially by those in positions of power). I hope your eyeballs aren't bleeding from reading this 😆
This band is renowned for their live performances. Almost every track they played live was better than the studio recording. Now you’ve done the studio version of Stairway check out the live version performed at Madison Square Garden in 1973 and you’ll see what I mean - enjoy!!
Jay W. : I disagree that Zep was better live. They were masterful in the studio, i saw them live twice . Whenever i listen to them it's always their studio albums. Just my opinion music is subjective.
I too agree with Cesar. Studio is much better than live. Studio they had so much instrumentation that when they played live there were only 4 of them and they could not recreate all the extra instrumentation.
@@toddtoho3606 Most bands were better in the studio, with a few exceptions that i saw. The Allman Bros when Duane was still alive. The J Geils band. George Thorogood n Cheap Trick
This was the number one rock song every year, for years, when we grew up listening to Zeppelin. I'm guessing it is still regarded as that. Led Zeppelin is considered rock royalty. I'll bet you all know this band, but wasn't aware of it. Thor: Ragnarok. Immigrant Song. Listen to it, and if you saw the movie, you will have an "Aha" moment. We listened to it for decades before they put it in a movie.
Thank you for your honest review and not some BS I see on so many other reaction channels. ❤ You got a subscriber in me. The four of you made me smile just for being you.
The volume and intensity just got a little louder and a little louder until they built it to an epic scream. So perfectly paced and extremely difficult to do. Their musicality is so spot on! They have many songs with very strong beats, then they'll switch it up with another great one in the same song. This is one of the things that they are known for and is what attracted my ear right off the bat. You may even recognize a couple of them, they are that iconic. This is just one song. A slow one that has become the symbol of Zep but their is so much more to them than you could know. Try: When the Levee Breaks, The Ocean, The Crunge, Kashmir (studio recordings) Keep Listening!
React to Black Dog from Led Zeppelin. Also, the band Heart played this song at the Kennedy Center Honors, in front of Led Zeppelin; had them in tears. Led Zep’s drummer’s son was playing for that performance and they had a full choir behind them. Absolutely amazing performance!
To truly experience the rock from the 60’s and 70’s you need to use headphones...you’ll be amazed how the music alternates between left and right headphones.
