Texa A & M is playing with the back up & Ewers would not beat out starting QB Haynes King when he’d back healthy. So no Texas A &. M would not be a good fit. Texas Maybe because Casey Thompson is done after this season ( eligibility is up) & QB back-up, Hudson Card doesn’t have as much upside as Ewers. Plus Ewers was initially committed to the Long Horns. So that may be more feasible.
Casey Thompson has 1 more year of eligibility. But Ewers probably could beat Card & Thompson for the starting job. Problems is the program is in so much turmoil which is why he didn't come in the first place.
Defenitly agree, but I think Baylor might enter the picture too. I am not sold on Haynes King yet as he only played a couple of games but he has potential. What is worth mentioning is A&M has a 5⭐ Qb coming in with Conner Wiggman. I think Ewers was committed to Texas at one point but then again would he want to go into that dumpster fire? I think if Baylor can keep Aranda that might be a good place
He's probably be playing right now if he originally went to A&M. When Calzada was injured and unable to play a couple series vs Bama a walk-on came in to replace him.
110% he regrets going Early should've played it out and been humble. Why rush your career? Live it out, get all the experience you can. Become a better athlete over that year
Hey Matt you are correct about being able to declare for the draft after your redshirt sophomore season. The rule is you must be graduated from high school 3 years to declare.
Matt, that word was martyr (marter) like smarter without the s. It means you die for your a cause, generally a religion or principle. Basically you're sacrificing yourself and are praised by being called a martyr...That's my description, not an official definition out of Webster's or anything so don't jump all over me for not being the exact definition.
In a society that places money above everything, this is no big shock. I’m glad he’s moved on from Ohio State. I’m not saying he’s a bad kid, but we don’t need him and his money-seeking baggage. He was a convenient insurance policy for the moment and now Day has another kid in the fold.
I watched this video couple days ago, after hearing the news about Ewers entering the transfer portal today…. I had to come straight to this video. You were right! And the school that he might move to is Texas
There's nothing wrong with Quinn ewers he knew that he wasn't going to play this year he was coming to get a head start on learning Ryan days system the nil came second.
The only thing he did was choose the wrong school. Him chasing the bag had almost nothing to do with the situation. I say almost because I assume Ohio State players have better opportunities at endorsement deals than players at other schools but Ewers is such a big name he could have gotten those same deals anywhere else
Yeah, but wouldn't be nearly as competitive as a team. OSU has one of the best WR cores in the NCAA with one of the best RBs (also a true freshman) and features one of the best O-Lines.... he's on the top offense in the nation.
@@TheWillikerz Oh I get all that. I’m just saying Matt is making it seem like Ewers choosing the money instead of waiting another year is the reason he’s in the situation he is right now which doesn’t make sense. I don’t see how how one has to do with the other
My favorite line is "it's just the principle of it". Give me a break, this kid doesn't have any principles or he wouldn't have done the Buckeyes so dirty.
@@33alltheway14 The other QB would be Clemson commit Cade Klubnik from Austin Westlake. Quinn may have lost to Cade at the state championship but it was expected. SLCs defense had a lot of turn over and Westlake was a defending champion with fewer seniors leaving plus Riley Dodge's father (Todd Dodge) is the headcoach at Westlake. Usually thr father's have the advantage over the son when both of their schools are powerhouses
@More Miles he's a redshirt freshmen. That means he's technically a sophomore in college. You are allowed to declare for the draft after your redshirt sophomore year or your true junior year. Both mean you were in college for 3 years.
Anyone choosing high school football over 1.5 million needs a reality check. Ewers knew he could get injured his senior year and never play football again. He also knows there’s no guarantee of making the NFL. Get the bag.
He should transfer to A&M. It will help him in the NFL to have multiple reference points of division 1. Seriously, that can't be undervalued to see how 2 different elite level operate could give him an advantage over other QB's too tied to a system they've excelled at. I think that comfort zone factor is why some players become busts. It's a culture shock. If he has to start over at that young of an age (the same age as a true freshman), then booyah, he's got a leg up. It is brilliant, he can play one season and jump to the NFL a year younger than anyone. It was brilliant to get out of high school early
Based on where he went to college and their QB room I think it was a pretty bad decision. Football, even more so college football in particular, is all about timing when it comes to everything.
I was supposed to play him the first game of my senior year but then he fucked off to Ohio state made me so mad Southlake still kicked our ass without him. There program is unreal.
He knew when he signed he’d have to wait his turn If that was me I would’ve played my senior year and went out with a bang. Then go into the summer with the strength and conditioning coach and QB coach to to get acclimated then grind my ass off in practice in scrimmages and during off days to take somebody’s spot it’s the work u put in behind closed doors. The 5 stars and 4stars gotta understand the college level takes a huge commitment in the weight room the nutritionists and the field and film room to get on the field. Nobody likes to compete
This a story I never heard. But sports was ruined for me when the pro's made it political and it just rolled down to the collage level. I haven't seen what happened in the OSU loss today even though I'm a big Ohio State fan. I just thought the game was at 4pm. I( think they believed their own hype, that no way that MU would win. So, what about LSU for Quinn. They have fallen off the map after losing their QB.
The NFL didn't make a damn thing political, get your facts straight, it was a player trying 2 stand up for a cause about rt and wrong and it had nothing 2 do with politics, it was politicians who made it political and 1 person in peticuler and that was D.Trump it was never about politics so get it straight, and 🔴 this BS, pls, and it has not dripped down 2 college FB so wtf are u talking about, u sound brainwashed
NIL means your team better have people with deep pockets or they’re going to suck, or the rich get richer. Look at Brice Young. He’s already a millionaire with a nice G-Wagon. The principle of it is him making the money off his name instead of the team. Not to mention the injury issue. He could blow a knee out or worse, and never get an NFL paycheck.
South lake has been a dominant program for over 20 years and the competition in the Dallas Fort Worth area is top tier!!! He will be great at the next level and beyond I say it’s a good gamble.
Sold his soul?? He’s gonna transfer to a big Texas school and start day one in what should’ve been his freshman year with experience and reps at the highest of collegiate level instead of a year in high school. He’s making money and will be a better player next year than if he had completed his senior year of high school
I am not so sure that this young man sold his soul. His path is his path and different from everyone else. Quinn would not be the first kid to leave high school early to play in collage. a Friend of mine (I won't use his name because I do not have his permission) wanted to graduate from high school early so he could enroll at his chosen college and be there for spring practice. his high school told him he did't have the enough credits. He relayed this info to his college coach, who told him to quit high school that it would not affect his scholarship. So he quit. He played in college, earned his college degree without a high school diploma. To top it off, my friend also had a fantastic NFL career, and is still blessed to this day.
I know we are talking football BUT He was a junior in H.S. and not yet graduated, and now attending a University. Are we seriously calling him a "student athlete" ncaa? I love College football like anyone else but it's a semi-pro business. Money before integrity Ohio State. Embarrassing for me as an OSU alum. I hope the kid does transfer. And listening to this was painful. Pick it up Matt.
Hes gonna get playing time at osu next year. He will be the backup and osu blows half of their opponents out . He will get decent playtime. Quinn will be starting sophomore year than could declare after his redshirt sophomore year. Makes more sense for him to stay
They were saying he was a martyr, someone who dies for a belief or cause, Ex. Jesus Christ was a martyr. So they are saying he might have to sacrifice his playing career because of the situation he is in
I dont see how anyone balling on their last year of HS ball with their childhood friends would work out when OSU has a stable of top QB. Money is great but anyone who bails on their senior year when financially hails has commitment issues. It is a bad look. I don't blame him but for taking the money, but he will need to transfer.
If he’s that talented Wherever he transfers to He will make a big splash and he will be drafted to the NFL 2- 3 $ million will be peanuts ! I for one with him the best of luck !
Ok so a lot of y’all confused in the comments so imma break it down, I think Quinn repeated 1 year of school so right now he is 18, he graduated early because he should of graduated last year but didn’t so this truly is his freshman year of college not his senior year of high school cause he should of graduated. CJ is currently 20 and was a Red shirt freshman so he is truly a sophomore but technically a freshman cause he didn’t play last year, CJ is also a Heisman candidate this year and likely will start the next two years. What Quinn should do is stay at OSU this year and transfer next year so he’ll won’t wait until he’s a junior for playing time.
Guy said what happened to him he's RS is probably going to do better than what DJ is doing in Clemson (I was one of the people who said Bryce would be better on a DJ video about a year ago!) Got a deal skipped possible 😂 injury trained at a top tier school and now gets to play anywhere he wants and keep the bag and have a year on film under his belt good move
This decade will see the most Draft bust out of any generation, kids are playing up and it’s not helping when they get to the league, when it’s all said n done the game is about championships and quest to the HoF, not ur 1.4 million contract u signed in hs
He made the right decision. When the opportunity presents itself you take the money. You could get injured and your career could end on any play. Or a school could recruit the next Peyton Manning to come and replace you. If you take a couple million and invest it the right way you can multiple it plenty of times over and never have to risk your health at all
Both Jameis Winston and Sam Darnold plus other defensive players that balled out early and it’s mostly defensive players that do.. left as RS Sophomores… you only got to go to college 3 years before you enter your name for the Draft .. so a Junior in school .. your eligiblity classification is separate.

Happy Thanksgiving MattBeGreat and everyone! Have a blessed day. I plan on eating and watching MattBeGreat videos in between meals lol!
Very smart move! Go in early, learn the system, get your body & mind set to go, graduate early and have every option in front of you!
@Lil cdub Hudson card sucks
Texas has Vince Young
Facts
Become a better athlete over that year
What do you think about the lebron and isiah sweart situation
Have a great day God love y’all
Hey Matt you are correct about being able to declare for the draft after your redshirt sophomore season. The rule is you must be graduated from high school 3 years to declare.
Hopefully he gets to play I'm an Ohio State fan and haven't really seen him throw the ball but, good luck to him.
He is transferring
The haircut alone says "I'm a practitioner of dang'old Dark Arts lol
He's got the physical attributes but the talent is lower than everyone thinks. Single handedly cost his team state.
Nothing is single handed in a team sport bud
You just have to be three years out of normal high school or 2 years after prep high school to go to the NFL.
@@qmajc18 they're explaining the rules of when CJ Stroud could declare for the league
Tell me what you think of my friends varsity highlights on my channel…have a blessed day!!
@@TheFellasYT keep it up, great vid fellas
south lake carol is not a prep school
If I had a son of his caliber who was mature enough to handle leaving high school a year early, I’d be 100% for whatever decision he makes.
Prolly like how his decision doesn’t set the standard for other high level recruits.
I don’t see how how one has to do with the other
I’m a true freshman in college , and Quinn is a few days older than me , so that means he is in his right grade if we being honest
My favorite line is "it's just the principle of it". Give me a break, this kid doesn't have any principles or he wouldn't have done the Buckeyes so dirty.
He will have a great future with the Buckeyes. Patience thats all it takes. He will be the next starter after Stroud.
Yikesss
This for sure hasn't aged well!
He is.selfish.he.left his high school team he is more hype up then he lost the state championship to the really best quarterback in Texas
Who
@@33alltheway14 The other QB would be Clemson commit Cade Klubnik from Austin Westlake.
Stupid take. He’s going to be the back up next year and the starter in year 3. It’ll be his sophomore year basically if he stayed in HS.
Nah stroud is a freshman he not waiting that long especially in this era of the transfer portal
@@maliksims4215 stroud is a red shirt freshman. He’s gone after next year
@More Miles he's a redshirt freshmen. That means he's technically a sophomore in college. You are allowed to declare for the draft after your redshirt sophomore year or your true junior year. Both mean you were in college for 3 years.
@More Miles Winston did it
Anyone choosing high school football over 1.5 million needs a reality check.
Its looked as a negative lol what the hell
This dude will never start for OSU
You’re a genie for this 1. Nice
As a Texas resident you don’t need no money if you from south lake Carroll
There's a reason OSU is trying not to burn McCords redshirt... he gone after this year. Stroud/Ewers next year
Based on where he went to college and their QB room I think it was a pretty bad decision. Football, even more so college football in particular, is all about timing when it comes to everything.
I was supposed to play him the first game of my senior year but then he fucked off to Ohio state made me so mad Southlake still kicked our ass without him. There program is unreal.
God Bless everyone
Texas A&M is bringing in a 5 star QB so he isn’t going there. I can realistically see him going somewhere like Baylor, Iowa St, Cincinnati, TCU
What happened to Quinn was he went to Ohio State and is waiting for a chance to play as he learns the playbook
He should go to Fresno State and become a Mountain West champion!
Go Bulldogs!!!
I like how it’s only ok to make money on your own name and your accomplishments and you can do that at a certain age.
The fact that this guy just made millions for leaving high school early is applaudalbe
Plot twist actually enters the transfer portal
He came in late and once CJ leaves will be starting.
South lake has been a dominant program for over 20 years and the competition in the Dallas Fort Worth area is top tier!!! He will be great at the next level and beyond I say it’s a good gamble.
he did WHAT???😂😂😂😂
Bro needed them stars
IDK either. Wish UA-cam didn’t ban the dislike count so i could see if this video is bullshit or not.

He played his first College snaps this past weekend.
I predict he will transfer to Texas and be the starter in the 2022 season and probably lead the team to a 8-4 regular season record.
CJ Stroud is a red shirt freshman he can come back next year for one more season and then Quinn ewers has the job for the next two years
He didn't make a bad choice this was just a bad take tbh. He made the right decision.
Hes gonna get playing time at osu next year. He will be the backup and osu blows half of their opponents out . He will get decent playtime. Quinn will be starting sophomore year than could declare after his redshirt sophomore year. Makes more sense for him to stay
Career is definitely not over but he got a hell of a process to go through
He lives in South Lake, Texas, money is the last thing he ever worried about
They were saying he was a martyr, someone who dies for a belief or cause, Ex. Jesus Christ was a martyr. So they are saying he might have to sacrifice his playing career because of the situation he is in
Lamelo Ewers. he should be fine if as long as he takes advantage and keeps developing.
It’s 3 years from high school graduation regardless of the year you are in college. RS Sophomore, and Junior both work.
I dont see how anyone balling on their last year of HS ball with their childhood friends would work out when OSU has a stable of top QB. Money is great but anyone who bails on their senior year when financially hails has commitment issues. It is a bad look. I don't blame him but for taking the money, but he will need to transfer.
Texas A&M already has a 2022 5 star QB recruit. The Aggies will be fine with out him.
Now he’s at Texas. Much better decision. Wouldn’t say he really sold his soul either. Just did what he thought was best for him.
should of went to A&M from the start. never understood the OSU signing.. stupid
Martyr - Someone who is killed because of religious or other beliefs
