100%. Dunno if James Sr. made it an ultimatum, or if the Lakers did it on their own to make sure he’d stick around, but with James considering opting out of his contract and heading somewhere else, this was done to prevent that.
Question is what this will cost the Lakers. Will James Sr. object if his son doesn’t get enough playing time? What if Bronny just stinks it up to the point that he should get cut or put in the G League, will the Lakers have the courage to do that? Its a giant drama bomb just waiting to go off, around a player that’s kinda known for meddling with the front office…

If people had any clue, they would realize there are plenty of players who got drafted with pedestrian ass freshman college stats. Shit the lakers have two in Max Christie and Vanderbuilt. But of course yall clowns think every drafted player was a stud or really dope in college. Think about it, there are hundred and hundred of guys with great college stats that never were able to sniff the nba floor. Whst does that tell you? College success or lack there of, doesnt always equate to that in the nba. And sometimes, players are late bloomers, or where in a bad situation/bad fit/played behind other players etc. Most 2nd rd picks never pan out whatsoever...but often the ones that do its because of work ethic and basketball IQ....which bronny couldnt have had a better example in his household. He is super athletic, solid build for his age, good finisher, smooth jumper that will no doubt continue to improve, willing defender and passer, great court awareness, work ethic and IQ and lebron dna. Im taking a shot on that all day, with a late 2nd rder. Being the vast vast majority of 2nd rd picks never pan out so im taking a chance on someome with his pedigree. Yall clowns only see a small sample size of basic stats of a freshman, who couldnt even play ball for months because of health issues and think that determines his outcome in nba. The double standards between Lebron and Giannis are comical. Giannis, wanted another scorer(especially someone in clutch moments) so bucks got dame. And blamed Bud for their collapse against heat last yr, so got him replaced. Then when it wasnt working early in yr, he blamed Griffin. Got him fired. Running out of people to blame. And of course he forced the Bucks to wast a roster spot on Thanasis, whom we all already knew isnt nba talent. At least with Bronny, just like every draft pick we dont know yet. Yet Giannis gets a pass on all the same shit yall hate on Bron for. That just shows how yall are all just blindly biased haters. Now yall bring that same biased hate, preying and praying on a young mans downfall. Talk about pathetic. 90% of yall never heard of the majority of the 2nd rd picks throughout histroy, but yall didnt use the fine tooth comb picking them apart. If ya did, ya would realize its not a stretch whatsoever that Bronny got drafted.

point of this video is that for the 55th pick if bronny is out of the league in 2 years it won’t be anything different than other 55th picks. Making this for sure orchestrated by the lakers and LeBron, but still not an outlandish thing to do. Meaning that it’s not ONLY nepotism.

@fruitsnacks155 can we even really call it that? Bronny was going to be wealthy regardless and it's not like he was the #1 pick which you even said.
Ngl I kinda view this as pseudo nepotism, like it's not rreeeaaalllyyy when you break it down but it technically still is type of thing.
