Aww ok cool, I was completely out of my depth with the whole diagnosing and repairing problem. I learned a lot and its always nice to know ( I DID THAT )
The job is rather daunting if im being honest, I have never attempted if before on any bike but as i was quoted £2000 to fix the problem i went loose and just went with it myself. I had the bike stripped to just the engine in around 6 hours. Before i went any further i educated myself on what tools i would need for the job. i.e valve spring compressor, lapping compounds etc. It took me a while to do the job myself but if you take your time and read some more its not too difficult once u get your head around it. Had to pretty much do all valve clearances as they were all too tight, Best thing i can say is have a go and learn while your doing it.
nice job!! I was reading some days ago on fireblades.org the rebuild, one question, that quickshifter works without power commander or similar?
Yer it works as a stand alone unit mauro just takes a bit of time to get the kill time right. I think mine felt the best at 70ms.
dave belcher thanks you.happy to see that she is back on the road,i was following your progress on fireblades.org
