- It goes without saying that the ZR2 flavored Chevrolet Colorado will pass our hill test with flying colors. Check out our 2023 Colorado Trail Boss Review for proof.
For the ZR2 we decided to head out to Eagles Canyon Raceway for our favorite dirt test course to properly test out the DSSV Suspension.

I really like that race course, great choice for this vehicle and the Baja mode!
Those guys are my favs! Reality reviews with lots of fun.
Thank you!
I found in Baja mode when you really get on the gas the performance shift mode automatically engages and it is a lot of fun. It keeps the RPMs in the sweet spot and you can get the rear end loose constantly. Not sure if it wasn't working in this review or what but it changes high speed running tremendously.
I was looking for this comment. I just bought the truck last week and this is the first thing I did. Drives awesome with the reduced ESC
Great video🤙🏽🤙🏽
This car screams sophistication. I need one!
5000 miles into mine. Good truck. Wish the rear was multilink but over than that very capable and always looking to adventure.
Found out it's governed at 98mph
Do not race those 1983 toyotas on the hwy, you will get smoked lol
If you hold the button where you switch different screens it allows you to choose two more options the way the gauges look.
I wish they would have used those little side "pockets" for fog lights or maybe some additional off-road lighting with the Bison package. Some bigger side mirros and a bump in HP would be nice. This is a sweet looking truck.
From what a lot of tow truck drivers have said "do not pull too hard on Chevrolet's tow points.
But over all Chevy did a good job on this truck. Good looking 🚛
Congrats on the video! I already have 1,000 miles on mine, I agree with everything you said! At first had many software issues but it has been getting better, i live in Mexico and here we already have the Ranger Raptor for more than a Year, i waited for 6 months and when ZR2 was released here i decided for it because of wait times and extra comfort besides being $13,000 USD Cheaper in Mexico, only one version for each. I believe im one of the few people that already have tried both trucks, i could safely say the Raptor is in a different category, i honestly think its a better vehicle, In Mexico we have less features for the Raptor vs the upcoming USA made. I still have some regrets on my ZR2 but ita growing on me, if the Raptor didnt exist it would be the perfect truck.
Can you elaborate on your comparison between the 2 ?
Ive been a Toyota truck driver for as long as ive been driving trucks; but man these new colorado zr2's and Silverado zr2's got me thinking about changing things up.
I have a 4runner, and honestly all the talk about the new Tacoma has had me looking closer at this truck, and it seems like a bargain in comparison. A front locker and big tires stock is awesome. Time will tell about the reliability, though you could say that about the new Taco drivetrain as well.
@@trailrunnah8886 yeah no kidding, plus the new off road body kits look pretty ugly.
The cost 😮😮
the suspension is awesome on road not sure what he is on about.
We never said it was bad on road, just that it’s slightly choppier on pavement when compared to fox live valve rigs.
the longevity of the engine though... hows that gunna work?
Hill test!!!
Unless you need backseat space. Might be great if it is just driver and a single passenger
The dude who sat in back seat must be small, I say in a cab adjusted the front seat to me and then tried to sit in back seat and could not even fit knees into truck. So for anyone who has a child that is tall you can’t fit in truck
MPG is worse than my 2nd gen raptor
20-21 highway.
damn full tank only goes 270ish miles
400 miles high way. 270 is off reading.
anyone else mad that the speedo is on the left?? Seriously, Chevy??
Test some EV trucks on that dirt . Great vid
Prefer larger vid of the truck..smaller vid of you guys..sorry..great vid though
I know, we are hard to look at that long! Thanks for the feedback, we will flip flop it next time.
I agree, make the pic of you guys small, and the truck large. Awesome vid!! Awesome jump!!
"Look at my cool new truck that sounds like a Honda 4-banger playing with a vacuum cleaner
to many nannnies
Stupid traction control! I really hate when manufacturers leave, their "influence." In the traction control "algorithm". Not letting you completely shut it off. In your own vehicle, is complete bogus! Cutting the power when you need it! Totally ruins the "capability" of the truck. I have even gotten stuck because of it. Start pulling fuses, and hammer down!
I guess you’re not aware of law suits? I guess if they built it like wish list you have would get them sued after awhile for someone dying for not letting them do everything they’re doing no and making it safer for the customers. Without those and someone dies because they didn’t have it… out of business
@TheTruth23rd I'm pretty sure that's false. Traction control is relatively new. I think there was actually a market demand for traction control, from people who thought they wanted an offload vehicle, but don't actually know how to drive.
That truck needs an aftermarket tune & maybe get rid of the catalytic converter let it breathe I bet that truck would be fast as shit would probably gain 20-30 horsepower & 50-60 ft lb of tq on a somewhat mild tune along with fix what your talking about 🆒 📽️ guys!💯👍👍
No V8. 👎👎👎👎
It's a midsize truck, you want a V8 get the Silverado.
So many have this mentality and so do I to some degree. Unfortunately government is screwing us all over and V8 is going extinct everywhere. 4 banger for midsize and V6 for full size. It's absolutely BS but what can ya do, unless you customize it yourself after.
@xzaviuraurai Ford and Nissan still has v6 midsized and v8 full size.
This is so dumb, who is doing all this sand racing?????? All the channels are doing this to hype up the ford because it can’t do anything else better then the competition
