cool video. my 2024 black on black Colorado ZR2 will here next week! can't wait. Had a 2011 pro comp lifted Tundra, so i guess i'm a toyota fan boy but can't beat the value the ZR2 offers. best bang for the buck.
Love the ZR2 content! I just picked one up this year as well and I live in Colorado and have had a lot of fun with my taco, 4runner, and jeep brothers in my ZR2! It is a beast of a machine for what it is right out the gate. 💯💪🏼
First i want to thank you all to coming to Colorado. I have been doing as many trails as i can with my ZR2 here in Colorado. There are some great trails here and i think the newer Colorados ZR2's are just built for fun here.
Glad to see someone given the ZR2 its props. there is no better deal in the four-wheel-drive midsize truck world. The reason that Tacoma had trouble with a simple water crossing us cause it’s only got one locker. “ZR2 with front and rear lockers at $30,000 less you make the decision That was a great quote! Have owned mine for two months now and I couldn’t be happier.
The terrain mode on the colorado is a 1 pedal driving mode that will automatically engage the brakes when you lift off the throttle. That is probably why your brakes overheated if you used it for the entire trail.
Currently trying to convince my wife to do a trip to telluride next year instead of Nashville. Since we live close to Toronto and don’t have anything close to these types of mountains I know she would love it to. Specially with how much we like hiking!!
My family and I live in Buffalo and just went beginning of August. Well worth it! I highly reccomend, and will 100% be going back multiple times someday. My cousin loved it so much he and his girlfriend moved out there last spring
I used to be really careful and worried about climbing in my colorado zr2s then I bought a yamaha RMAX side by side and then really realised more about the capabilities of 4x4 with lockers then I had ever realised in all my yr of 4x4 trucks and jeeps .now I approach it all with a different mind set and go places I never thought possible before .
I love my Zr2 and I hate how it gets ignored. Hardly any aftermarket stuff out for the new ones but as soon as the new Tacoma comes out they have all kinds of stuff for it. I’ve had mine on trails here in Texas and I just got back from a 2 week trip up to the Washington state and traveled down through Idaho, Utah, and New Mexico and did trails in all of them and it handled everything with no problems. They need to give this truck the respect it’s due
Well the ZR2 is finally giving the Taco a run for it money in the sales department. With more ZR2s on the road comes aftermarket support. But I gotta say, mine is bone stock and I would put it up against any modded Tacoma out there.
Don’t suppose you all were on the trail on August 21? A friend and I did Imogene that day, and by the time we’d gotten to Ouray we were hearing that the trail had washed out. I’m thinking we saw the same Subie 😂
I live in Colorado and have had built Jeeps I’m talking tons and 46s on one and most with at least 37s for the last 40 years (still have 2) and recently bought a Bison because we wanted something with more room and comfort for planned longer trips. Took it out wheeling day after picking it up with less than 50 miles on it and have to admit I was pleasantly surprised at how well if road and flexed. Not sure how long the Jeeps will be around now lol. My biggest complaint is the lack of transmission skid protecting the pan but I guess they had to leave something for a guy like me to do besides adding a winch. Great trucks all around. When was this video shot? We did Imogene 15 Aug 24 between the two closures.
L mode is not an extra "low", it just pins your high gear to your 'selection' It would have been better to call it manual.. I think better name for the "L" is "Limit", Limit gear to: X 1, 1-2, 1-3, etc.
Awesome vlog Bobby. Way to represent the bow tie. I saw a AEV bison on the west shore for sale. Looks amazing just not sure about $63k price tag. Now will it fit a car seat comfortably in the back, reverse facing. 9:58 sounds like it will be a good vehicle to drive to help induce child birth. Congratulations! Btw if you’re 4wd uses traction control in any fashion and you’re not moving a lot of air over the brakes that might have a lot to do with your overheating.
I love that area lots of good trails. You guys definitely need to run some trails in moab it's even better. It's different but better trails I think and I live in Colorado.
Good video the ZR2 is a great truck can it out off road a jeep Rubicon no, but it is close and rides better on the highway. I love my Jeep JKU Wrangler but it is a pain on the highway. When I get closer to retiring, I probably will get a ZR2. Toyota is overpriced The ZR2 Bison is a beast
I enjoy your videos. But you are making these trails way more dramatic than they really are. I did all of those trails in a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder with independent front and rear suspension. No lockers. While the trails are on the easy side, the consequences for a mistake are huge.
I feel like you should consider making a second cheaper build. It doesn’t have to be a truck or SUV. Maybe something differen like an old landyacht or hot hatch. I really like your videos as they are now (especially the trailer business) but I think you should try to expand a little more. Greetings from Poland.
Colorado may be amazing but it will break down loooong before the Tacoma will .they build weakness into the Colorado so you keep the dealships in service .
I’ve watched multiple videos of new Tacoma’s breaking down on easy/moderate trails. Interesting how many Tacoma fans are flaming other midsize trucks that are just as good or better.
You can't talk about the tacoma taking longer lol. Just because the driver didn't send it. What a stupid comment. My freakin wife's ford edge could have done that. I love toyotas, bit not the latest. I'm considering a trail boss or a frontier.
False. I hunt in Colorado and when you get far enough out you will see them. Adam Greentree has video footage of one trailing him and getting close. There are few but there are still grizzlies in Colorado they just won’t admit it
LOL Imogene pass is not a hard trail. I mean stock jeep compass and Subaru outbacks can make that trail with no problems. The Colorado ZR2 looks great, I’m sure it’s pretty good on trails.
At the 5 minute mark, comparing the capability of the trucks isn't the factor of crossing that creek. It's the Balls of the driver... lol
That trail is pretty much a fire road, 2 wheel drive will probably make it all the way

The Colorado ZR2 would be even better if Tacoma didn't hog all the aftermarket.
Yeppppp so true. I’ve got a ZR2 and it is frustrating
NOTHING aftermarket available!
Nice to see the Raydo videos

If you like hiking then it should be a no brainer. We were thinking about summating mount sneffels but didn’t have the right gear
My family and I live in Buffalo and just went beginning of August. Well worth it! I highly reccomend, and will 100% be going back multiple times someday. My cousin loved it so much he and his girlfriend moved out there last spring
Pretty wild adventure! Now I’m in the mood to see Colorado!
Nice video and a Detroit 5.1 Diesel version of this ZR2 would be insane!

i really want to take my zr2 on some trails but man i know ill be a big baby if i get a scratches on it 😂
Cant wait to roll this next summer. That's epic
Dang, that scared the crap out of me. Glad you guys made it out safe.

Hey great content. What is your opinion of the first gen Colorado ZR2 vs the second gen ZR2?
I got a Silverado zr2 atm and want to switch to the Colorado zr2. Since you did the same would you recommend the change or do you regret it?
I don’t miss the payment

In 4lo and in low gear traction control is applying brakes on a down grade slope to keep speed down

Moab has very sticky trails. If they are dry, you can drive up a 75 degree rock trail...
We want to try holy cross
@RFRacing717 Nice !! Definitely have a winch for that one you might need it.

Yeah, I should probably check out Colorado. Since I live in Idaho. If I can drive all the way to Iowa from Idaho, then I can drive to Colorado. 😂😂

How did you guys turn around?
Backed up about 100 yards and were able to hit a 30 point turn
Pussies lol🤣 j/k . I can't imagine doing Imogene in that weather.
It would be better if it had a six cylinder 540 hp twin turbo…
Your definition of "emergency situation" and mine are different. I just don't see any emergency. Challenging possibly.
we value your opinion
I like how you show footage of a grizzly bear. The last one died in CO in 1979...
And yet every local will say they saw one in their backyard just a week ago 😂
