    Did my trail run/hike with the colors at their peak in Wallace Falls State Park....lots of flow~ Keep after it Tim! Looks like the pull ups are paying off.

    Does digging under your house count as exercise?
    Love the deer and trail footage!

      The way I'm digging, it's super hard work, but I don't count all of it.

    Some good heavy pulls, Tim! There's quite the debate among calisthenics people as to whether to lock out fully at the bottom. I was in the "don't fully lock out" team for years until recently. I realized that I was weak in that bottom range of motion and re-committed to full ROM pull-ups. No kipping or dropping into the bottom range. That said, I wouldn't do so with heavy weight.
    I can't do as many but my form is far better and have more power from the bottom-up.
    🙏🙏🙏

      Yeah, I'm a fan of full ROM, but my shoulder won't let me go all the way down at present. So I'm giving a break on the bottom. But still going for full engagement at the top.
      How is your progress going?

      @@runningraw years ago I had a similar issue, an impinged shoulder. Now it's better. My progress *was* going great. Did 21 progressive pull-up workouts (of 35) but then, I had a weird injury. A tiny fragment of walnut got under my thumbnail. It ended up getting badly infected, resulting in 2 days in hospital having IV antibiotics and 14 days off training. I'm on the comeback trail now. Thanks for asking Tim. Hope your shoulder is 100% soon!

      Wow! How random. Sorry to hear about that, but glad you are on the mend.

    Its good that you are able to run again. I myself have started running again from the second week in October 2023 after a three year break due to ligament issues. I agree with you that running gives one the kind of freedom like nothing else can. However, your trail running looks like a recipe for disaster with all those stones and leaves and uneven surfaces.

    • @runningraw
      @runningraw  10 місяців тому +3

      Yeah, the trail running here is extremely 'technical', but it also increases proprioceptive awareness... my hips, knees and ankles respond immediately to anything off canter and my legs give out before my ankles do... it's fascinating to experience... ankle rolls are pretty rare.

      Not anymore, but I also don't heel strike, so they're not really necessary.

    Hey Tim! What are your thoughts on Temple Grandin and her books on autism and the differences between thinking in words and thinking in pictures? I just found out about her and am listening to her latest book: Visual Thinking. She's a fire-cracker in her live lectures on you tube and reminds me of what used to be called an ornery woman!!

      I haven't read that book yet. I'll check it out.

    The deer seemed well-behaved, don't know why you called them "naughty".
