    It's definitely better, these legacy automakers trying to say "Chinese cars are ruining the market with low quality shit" while it's actually better made than many of their cars 😂

    The reason why people say you do not need to worry about degredation is that you are not stuck with a single battery, and you do not own the battery. No one ever said that there is no degredation. And you also look at it the wrong way around. Think about the 6 year old es8 with 300 000km that can swap to a brand new 150kWh battery and drive longer thant any Tesla on sale today. There are many people like this in China at the moment.

      But it is also like that you buy I new car and after first swap you have a 5 year old battery in your brand new car.

      @@evkx If you buy the battery it is yours and you are not allowed to swap. Just charge it lika any other car. When you choose baas you get the price of the battery taken out of the purchase price and only pay a sum every month👍

      @@Lucas-wp2ph yes i know how it works but with bas most people still charge and drive. So after first swap your range drop and it charged slower

      ​@@Lucas-wp2phowning the battery and not being able to swap is NIOs European policy at the moment, in China you can own a NIO with a battery and still swap it. I'm hoping that once NIO has more swap stations in Europe NIO will allow owning the battery and swapping it as well.

      Exactly, NIO started with 70 kWh batteries and now have 75kwh. Plus the stations do slower fast charging which easier on the battery and the stations monitor the battery health, hopefully battery will last a long time, hopefully the battery can pass the Bjorn test. And the latest swap stations can be fully automated with no need for people to be in the EV. Lots of benefits.

    As a Nio owner Im content, however I dont think E-Tron should be a meassurement (fat E-tron that is)

    My plug in hybrid battery Volvo starting g to degrade, now fully charge at 36km... below that I would go get it checked still warranty

    The 3 phase wall box that I know can handle single phase charging, even can select the phase that has the most free capacity. I find it strange you need all this extra hardware. I could imagine, if you have 3x16A for the charger, and your equipment is creating 1x25 out of that.

      I think he has some videos demonstrating the 3 phase to 1 phase converter, but that's exactly what it's doing. Instead of using only 1 x 16A phase (might be less) it's combining 3 phases into a 5 or 6 kilowatt 1 phase supply.

    With these NIO:s if user wants to use battery swap then definetely user should lease the battery. I would be a bit mad if i had a brand new car and after first swap i get a battery with 10% less range

      But you can swap again or use just chargers for sometime.

      That isn't possible because NIO guarantees no noticeable degradation on batteries. Their battery packs are designed in modules and each time a pack goes into a swap station it goes through diagnostics. So if a module goes bad, its replaced asap. Regardless, this is not a concern you should have as you can swap whenever you wish.

      In Germany you can only use Swap if you rent the battery. If you buy it, you can't use Swap.

      @@stefanospap6288 can you point to someting that says this. Nio will not replace batteries that have regular degredation. Only faulty batteries. It would bankrupt NIO if they should replace batteries because of regular degradation

      ​@@evkx Again, they don't replace entire battery packs, but modules. Of course they won't replace every module that has a little bit of degradation. It's case by case based on their internal thresholds etc. Anyway you shouldn't worry about degradation with NIO. They take care of it for you. It's possible that things are going slower in EU but the real representation of the technology is in China. EU is merely a testing ground right now. It's too early and the network is tiny.

    At 80km/h speed, 495km is all they could muster out of 100kwh pack? I don't think that is efficient.

      Isn't that normal if you compare cars from the same generation? Look at realistic data, not the company estimates.

    NIO will never swap any batteries that is working. Nio owners would probably also care less about protection their battery and only charge to 80%. So the pool of batteries probably would degrade faster than owned batteries. And the last point is that new batteries will not be compatible in many cases. ET9 batteries does not fit in other models.

      i would guess the batteries would degrade slower. Nio owners will instead of fastcharge their cars instead swap them. also the stations charge the batteries slowly which guarantees longlivity. I really dont think that new Batteries wont be compatible. et9 seems to be the only one which is actually odd that they would do that.
      We also know that BYD also developes NIO blade batteries in the same formfactor.

      @@xeniosdias2359 degradation caused by HPC charging wil be lower, but most people charge at home and there and people will be less motiviated to max charge to 80%. I personal only charge to 60% to protect my battery.
