A Mil-gun should never be worse than a T3 gun and T3 should never be worse than T2 etc. etc. Also happy to see that the muzzle boost is actually worth using now. Mostly seems great, except for the Tax, but what really needs to happen is a tier 1,2,3 tugboat defense system( each tier increases defense range) that grants you the ability to manually fire torpedoes at subs from the radar station on tugboat.
The new Meta for Solos and Small Groups is to build a Starter right next to a MiningOutpost/SuperMarket with a Recycler. Then put down stone/metal TC's in a circle around it to prevent large clans from walling it off or other people from building camp bases near it. Then you have a reasonably secure recycle spot and can look for a spot to put your main base. Its a scummy thing to do so only do this on Vanilla High pop servers where your dealing with Zergs who are going to wall off monuments anyway so its "all bets are off" for how you play as a camper/Rat. But the best place to build a starter base in the entire map is at Supermarket Nearby a T2/T3 monument with your starer directly facing the Recycler so you can roof camp or run out and ambush anyone coming to recycle. You do that and you will never farm again, all the resources you need will be hand delivered to you by dipshits farming the road. Please do not do that on small group servers. This Strat is only for Vanilla High pop and only if you are absolute lunatic who needs every advantage because you want to harass large clans as a solo/duo/trio and be like AloneInTokyo and be in the best position possible to fight them when they raid you.

tech tree tax is a good idea, but they should re-work team ui and make it so its based off how many people are in your group. What they just implemented just destroys newer players that struggle to get gear already
The Tax has no effect on solos. The Recyclers in Monuments have a 20% increased scrap payout which completely nullifys the 20% tax. Plus the Tier 2 tech tree is only 10% tax and you pay 0% if you research an item in the Research table so solos will actually tech tree faster with this update.

So basically, you will now never have access to small monuments, ever. Every clan will wall it in. You though it was bad before with clans controlling small monuments? Lol those are going to be the golden days. So now people are going to be forced to use recyclers in large monuments with many others (good luck surviving as a solo) or take the hit in safe zones. So clans now will get to not only enjoy their numbers advantage with no penalty due to the team system, but they get to advance 40% faster than solos for the same amount of resources. Haven’t played since December and was looking forward to jumping on again this week, but that ship has sailed. This has to be the most braindead idiotic update they’ve released. I hope solos start realizing that Rust doesn’t want any solo players and they leave.

There is no nerf. The Recyclers in monuments now give 20% more scrap so you will tech tree at a faster rate with the new update than you would otherwise. This only hurts pussies who hide in Outpost and Recycle there. If a large zerg runs to outpost to rycycle their stuff and craft crossbow/Nailgun early in the wipe for unfair advantage they will get punished for that. If large groups fly their components to outpost on minis for "safe" recycling they will be punished for that.

I've tried this new update in game and I think these new wooden barricades needs a little buff on the HP. They are sooo easy to destroy , I was PvPing yesterday when this update came out and the enemy destroyed my barricade shooting it with only like 10-15bullets. I didn't even know this was a thing , I was healing with syringes , hidden behind my barricade when suddently it collapsed in debris like if someone just /removed it. Boy I would have loved to see my own reaction , my own face when it broke in the very front of my nose, uncovering me and exposing me to the middle of the battlefield with a guy shooting an assault rifle at my face, I felt like someone ripped my pants , I felt naked in the middle of the frontline😂 At first I was a bit mad (because i died ofc) so i was like "WTF WAS THIS ? HE JUST SHOT DOWN MY BARRICADE IN 5SECONDS" then I had a good laugh at it and said like "waw bro they need a health buff"
the purpose is to discourage you from hiding behind walls. Its a quick life saver to cover you for a little bit but you dont get to hide behind it forever. You need to push and make a play. They dont want you to play like a pussy, thats not what this game is or was ever supposed to be so they are doing what they can to discourage camping/holding.
@@HoldinContempt I know right and I'm not the kind of player to camp for hours, I like rushing and PvP adrenaline, but the fact that the enemy was able to shoot my barricade while I injected 3 medsticks, that's wild man, you don't even have time to heal once from the shots you took, and I don't even want to talk about picking up your teammate or something... Basically barricades are good just if you want to reload. They'll protect you for about 3 to 10 seconds depending on the firepower of your enemy. (if it's a squad with AKs or a solo with a python revolver) but basically yeah going back to my experience, I barely had time to inject the third med syringe then boop barricade despawned and I got tripled HS (because I was standing still and crouched behind my barricade)

Or conversely they could modify the stone barricades and make them slightly bigger but with more HP encouraging people to use them or sandbags instead of the wood barricades because they have more HP and can resist bullets longer. The tradeoff being a smaller piece of cover to hide behind but its stronger.

I would too tbh, it seems that Rust is impossible to fix or balance because the players will always abuse whatever changed/is better, and the ones that aren't are gonna complain. This is why I play PVE only on a selfhosted server, Rust is better that way.

The Semi-pistol is a beamer with the new recoil and the SAR with a muzzleboost and burst means a skilled solo with hazzy/SAR can jump an AK kit and roll them now. smaller groups and solos now have more effective Tier 2 guns that even out the playing field with zergs that run around with metal/AK everywhere.

Tried some new gunplay stuff in a aim train server today, blooms definetly hitting too hard still, but its a step in the right direction for sure. If they take the movement change they done for aimcone and instead of making it the first 3 or so bullets, spread the aimcone increase over the first 10 bullets, gunplay might feel good again. Definitely a winning update so far.

Tax should be added to teams. The tax stays for 24-72 hours after you leave a party, 24 hours for each extra teammate up to 72 hours. + Add Compound and Bandit Camp reputations, make bandit camp give bonuses if you're a bandit, and compound give bonuses depending on how long you were on the server with no aggression toward other players - self-defense from known bandits is allowed.
New update is lame. There is no more to it. Guns recoil still inexistent. You still have to do on repeat get scrap in tunnels even more now to get bps. Graphics have too many bushes and it lacks vibrant colors.
Tech tree research should be linked to team UI size, once you put down your first workbench you select the max size of your group for the wipe and based on that a tax will be applied getting larger the bigger the group size. You cannot join team UI until you select your max group size in the workbench. You would need to add in some way to stop groups from just having a bot player select solo and craft all there items which shouldn't be difficult to implement. A larger team UI item could also be put into higher tier workbenches that must be researched, this would somewhat slow down early game progression for large groups and lead to more early game plays for solo/duo players.

the purpose is to discourage you from hiding behind walls. Its a quick life saver to cover you for a little bit but you dont get to hide behind it forever. You need to push and make a play. They dont want you to play like a pussy, thats not what this game is or was ever supposed to be so they are doing what they can to discourage camping/holding.
@@HoldinContempt I know right and I'm not the kind of player to camp for hours, I like rushing and PvP adrenaline, but the fact that the enemy was able to shoot my barricade while I injected 3 medsticks, that's wild man, you don't even have time to heal once from the shots you took, and I don't even want to talk about picking up your teammate or something... Basically barricades are good just if you want to reload. They'll protect you for about 3 to 10 seconds depending on the firepower of your enemy. (if it's a squad with AKs or a solo with a python revolver) but basically yeah going back to my experience, I barely had time to inject the third med syringe then boop barricade despawned and I got tripled HS (because I was standing still and crouched behind my barricade)
@@bingbing-ti2rv This is the first update. They will probably boost the HP of the barricades in a later patch. They are constantly testing and tweaking. Or conversely they could modify the stone barricades and make them slightly bigger but with more HP encouraging people to use them or sandbags instead of the wood barricades because they have more HP and can resist bullets longer. The tradeoff being a smaller piece of cover to hide behind but its stronger.

No one roams, no one goes outside their grid (plus or two more),
smaller groups have a hard time fighting big group bc there is no skill dif,
bullet bloom on weapons makes no sense especially because the recoil update was meant to cater to new players grabbed from twitch viewers but leaves us with bad fights. ESPECIALLY BECAUSE PEOPLE HAD THOUSANDS OF HOURS IN LEARNING SAID GUN which encouraged weapon specialization and diverse fights and time dedication to learn it

I would too tbh, it seems that Rust is impossible to fix or balance because the players will always abuse whatever changed/is better, and the ones that aren't are gonna complain. This is why I play PVE only on a selfhosted server, Rust is better that way.

@@user-lx9jm1wo3hthe 40% nerf to outpost recycler is horrible for clans what are you talking about? also the 20% boost to monument recyclers completely nullfifies the "tax" so solos will tech tree at the same speed, in fact they will tech tree faster now. The new changes to the guns means solos/duos are way more dangerous to clans and can rat them easier which is awesome. The Semi-pistol is a beamer with the new recoil and the SAR with a muzzleboost and burst means a skilled solo with hazzy/SAR can jump an AK kit and roll them now. smaller groups and solos now have more effective Tier 2 guns that even out the playing field with zergs that run around with metal/AK everywhere.

Tried some new gunplay stuff in a aim train server today, blooms definetly hitting too hard still, but its a step in the right direction for sure. If they take the movement change they done for aimcone and instead of making it the first 3 or so bullets, spread the aimcone increase over the first 10 bullets, gunplay might feel good again. Definitely a winning update so far.

Tax should be added to teams. The tax stays for 24-72 hours after you leave a party, 24 hours for each extra teammate up to 72 hours.

Add Compound and Bandit Camp reputations, make bandit camp give bonuses if you're a bandit, and compound give bonuses depending on how long you were on the server with no aggression toward other players - self-defense from known bandits is allowed.

New update is lame. There is no more to it. Guns recoil still inexistent. You still have to do on repeat get scrap in tunnels even more now to get bps. Graphics have too many bushes and it lacks vibrant colors.

Tech tree research should be linked to team UI size, once you put down your first workbench you select the max size of your group for the wipe and based on that a tax will be applied getting larger the bigger the group size. You cannot join team UI until you select your max group size in the workbench. You would need to add in some way to stop groups from just having a bot player select solo and craft all there items which shouldn't be difficult to implement. A larger team UI item could also be put into higher tier workbenches that must be researched, this would somewhat slow down early game progression for large groups and lead to more early game plays for solo/duo players.
Honestly the reduction in scrap and tech tree tax just hinders solos and new players
