My mom and 4 sisters all had to use this type of iron growing up, very heavy compared to today's irons but they got the job done!

Excellent restoration and editing. Always enjoy your projects and seeing Inspector Avril, was on vacation? I have an old iron that was my Grandmother's, it is small and solid metal, one was heated while one was in use, the handle was changed to the hot one when the one being used got too cold. Happy for modern technology. 😊 Hope all is well with you and your family.

I've seen restorations of olde-tyme-y irons that take heated coals or whatever before, but this may be the first one that looks to have a... chimney?! Is that actually what that is, aside from it being access to the nut for the handle? What an odd design decision.
I saw an elementary school kid in a village using one of these to press his uniform
Why electrolysis prior to sandblasting? Or any rust removal process prior to sandblasting? Can’t you just sandblast straight away?

When hot bluing, how long do you leave the piece in oil?
Most channels that I've seen do hot bluing, you want to leave it in the oil for at least 12-24 hours.

Dear master, you are a great master, but I don't like this wood varnish at all. It may be natural, but it is really strange that you apply such a varnish to your wooden restoration that you have done so carefully.
