In this video I restore a HUGE German Firefighter Axe from the heart of the Sauerland region of Germany. I couldn’t choose between a bright metal skull or a black metal skull so I did both! - so please tell me which one you like the most! I love how you every time restore old things and make them new thing. I would love to see you sell some of them as a work of art or trophy to us it would make me and all your followers happy 🌹👍🏼
Joh. Wiebelhaus & Co from Meschede which is in the Sauerland area had made this axe and you can find his logo if you google for this term wiebelhaus_johann.phtml That first hit will open a page with all the registered and used marks till they went bankrupt arount 1984 after roughly 70 years they had existed.
This is why I always come back. Not just because you still keep the original pieces, but you come up with creative ways when you don't have all the proper machinery. The DYI wood lathe is what impressed me more than the restoration.
31 years professional firefighter. Retired Captain. I never saw an axe so beautiful! That has some age to it for sure. The pointy end looks entirely different. Ours had more of a thick curved knife shape. This one has a medieval spike kind of thing. You did a great job! Regarding the etching: really nice and clean, but they both sort of look like stickers a teenage boy would put on his biology textbook. The skull ring on your index finger (on the right) is quite nice. Love your channel. One of your 5.46 million!
@@CandiceGoddard Yes, I know it's a pick. Thank you for "pointying" that out. My thought that it had a medieval look was purely subjective and does not require your approval. What are you, German?
this is a nice restoration however i think it is let down by the skull you have engraved on the axe. It is a firefighting tool and I think an image more associated with fighting fires would have been more appropriate.
I like it, sometimes a fireman's axe definitely carries life and death with it. It's oddly fitting. I helped with wild fires and have met a lot of firemen along the way. Every single one of them would love that axe
Looks phenomenal, but I feel like you should of left the old tag. You can add yours for your contribution, but the original craftsman provided the foundation.
Hello everyone, The more experience a Mechanical Engineer has, the lower the cost. You work beautifully. Great job. A lot of effort has been put into this work. Another preserved work of art and history👍👍👍

Это очередное произведение искусства! А череп светлый мне понравился больше! Ваши видео очень качественные! Очень приятно смотреть на работу профессионала!
Beautiful work as always, congratulations Martin. I'm missing the more complex restorations, but I'm very excited to see you breathing new life into machines that no longer work.
Hey Martin another brilliant job mate👍. Love the Laser work didn't know it took that long. Finally got one right picked the Skull about time. The finished axe looked fantastic well done. Anyway another great video good onya Mate👍👍.

Trying not to fall asleep from how calming and soothing these kinds of videos are is pretty difficult 😂 The ambient rain/thunder is a really nice addition too
Nice to see You and your awesome works again. I really like that you left axe a bit robust. 10/10 points for the most innovative lathe I have ever seen! That actually solved one of my problems with my project.
LOL........a "cheap mans wood lathe".........from a restoration artist with a laser engraver. Absolutely loved this!! Another outstanding restoration. Awesome job (pun intended)!!! 👏
Greetings from the United States Martin. Your videos are out of this world incredible. I hope you can put another one out soon. Keep up the great work brother.

The real axe restoration was the friends we made along the way ❤❤❤😂
WTF does that mean? I really hope English isn’t your 1st language
Another beautiful restoration! I suspected you would go for a skull, but was thinking an animal like a wolf. No flames for a wolf, though.
thanks Jane glad you liked it, and yes I am a skull man but I also like animals very much 😊

Definitely the outlined skull.
