I am pretty sure every Italian family has some version of this device. Ours was stainless steel, and clamped to the kitchen table. This one is probably older, but the basic design is the same. I can't guess how much pasta was made on ours over the decades. Mom used it almost every Saturday for around 40 years, maybe more. No store bought product can taste like homemade fresh pasta. Some restaurants can do as well as my Mom, but not many. This device when used by a mother does not create food. It creates love.

Here's to family!
True love never dies!!
That baby was brass, that’s a solid sign it was used in a commercial capacity or by a well off family. It has probably made a vast amount of people happy over the years.
Bronze, for the dies at least. Brass is very susceptible to corrosion in contact with food acids and sugars.@@jeepfail7068
You and your perfect dough. Now you're just showing off.
Making that one cog by hand...omg
making that cog must've been laborious and time consuming. and using the old handle as a template was very clever. excellent job
C'est toujours un plaisir de te voir à l’œuvre !
All bronze - NICE!!!!! I'd have HOURS of fun with my polishing wheels with that! And you'd need sunglasses to use it! 🤣
If you haven't seen the Clickspring episode on making a brass card press for Chris Ramsay, check it out. He polishes it to absolute perfection... and then electro gold plates it so it will never tarnish. That thing got SOOO shiny!
Every video you make is a masterclass on doing it right. Thank you!
Wow. I was impressed when you hand-cut the gear. But you blew my mind with that lathe trick. So cool!
Interesting how the wheel you made looks much more crude despite modern tools at your disposal, old artisans really were something else.
That method of copying on the lathe - absolute genius!
The before / after is really really impressive 🤩👍
Another great restoration video where there has been an inordinate amount of time and care taken to produce such a great result. Well done and thanks for creating such wonderful content. Thanks.
My family recently got a pasta maker and it was one of the best kitchen purchases we've ever made. Now you have one too! Hope you or whoever owns it next gets plenty of use out of it.
Well excellent job on the entire restoration. Like that you kept the old handle for a template and remade the broken gear. The base however just makes it a showpiece, as this kind of classic model would often be permanently mounted to the kitchen countertop or have it's own small dedicated table for being used to make pasta.
Обалдеть, классная реставрация, итог на все 💯. Прям домашняя макаронная фабрика. Спасибо за видос братан, лайк однозначно🙏.
Beautiful. Back in the day even the most utilitarian objects were esthetically pleasing.
And made to last forever
@@seven9arts The ones that were made to last forever survived, the garbage ones that just broke were tossed away. It's survivor bias at its finest.
5:08 the game over sound of a video game
I hope your channel grows bigger. The quality is amazing. I am not sure if you do all the filming yourself but this could sky rocket with a full crew. Restorations like these deserve to be seen in the highest possible quality. It is restoring art history!
Making the new gear was really impressive, great job!
That’s a true labor of love- especially with that replacement cog. Superb job!
I like the idea of using the parting tool and cutting tool as a pattern follower
Beautiful job, as always. I love brass items! You find some very unique items to restore. Thank you!
Здається, хтось мав дуже смачну вечерю в італійському стилі! Дякую за чудову роботу, пане!
Thankyou for posting a new video! I like how you put gel feet on the bottom of the wood stand, not too many channels do that :)
They stop that infuriating thing where the machine tries to shuffle across the bench as the handle is turned.
Thanks for another great video! It’s cool see you restore something that isn’t so visually destroyed. The super rusted and pitted object are cool too but there was something cozy about this one. Like it was refreshed rather than restored? Something getting a new lease on life and not being brought back from the dead 🤣
Love starting my morning with these
old is gold 👌🏿👌🏿🙂🙂
You are definitively a top tier restorator on UA-cam, that pasta maker looks brand new 👌.
The only thing I'm concern is how you use your bendsaw without any protection, be really careful with that.
Lovely. I love things that are both aesthetically pleasing and useful. Thank you for restoring this beautiful item to its original purpose.
What a beautiful job, well done!
Great technique, u did it well 🙂🙂
I think, most of all, I love the sound this one makes.
Fantastic job you did restoring that antique pasta making machine. It looks much better and it works like a charm too. Excellent work as usual.
Those are not spaghetti but "fettuccine". Spaghetti are always rounded while these are flat. For who want to know the long flat pastas are (for the wider to thinner) pappardelle, tagliatelle, fettuccine, tagliolini. From 3 to 5mm wide are fettuccine. Thank you for the great restoration as always! 🍝
Very nice!
Its a beautiful work of delicious pasta making!'
I remembered that I had long wanted to buy a modern version of this thing. Thank you for reminding me.)
Reminded me of times spendt making pasta at home with my mom. I hated making it by hand and having to hang it on the pasta tree. How I miss those days. My parents have a small silver metal version that had a different layout.
до последнего думал , что это аппарат для прокачки золотой проволоки !) 👍👍👍
Beautiful!
Beautiful restoration 😊
Toujours une travail satisfaisant et une vidéo de qualité qui donne l'impression qu'avec un peu de matériel on peut tout rénové 😇
I love seeing old manual kitchen devices saved and restored to functionality. Nicely done. 👍
My friend, you are a genious
For a moment I expected you to have a gear cutter attatchment for your lathe XD
Thank you for sharing another great video!
Felicitaciones por tu buen trabajo de restauración 🇵🇪
It is very smart to make the handle in your way .....................😇😇
An old fashioned brass pasta roller. Those brass fitting should last a long time indeed.
Nice restoration, wish I had one of those, love pasta.
Nicely done Sir. Nicely don. Linguine with clam sauce ! 😄🍽
Your stuff is so good!
Nice job! It looks great!
Love your wood stach, got a bit of everything in there :D
Glad to see you putting out videos on a regular basis!
Nice work on that handmade gear. Great video thumbs up.
Excellently done.
Rigitoni is my favorite pasta, but I'll never turn down any pasta shape, lol.
A very nice piece. Just needed some TLC
Simply brilliant. Thoroughly enjoyed this restoration work video. Keep them coming. Love from Rwanda 🇷🇼❤️

Sono Italiano e te lo devo dire ...ottimo lavoro!!!! Viva gli spaghetti!!!❤ confermo che quasi tutte le famiglie qui da noi ne hanno una per esempio mia nonna ce l'ha!!!
It turned out really beautiful after the restoration! And useful! 😅
I loved watching you bring life baxk to this pasta maker !! It looks amazing the brass buffed up wonderful and that new wood just brings it all togather !! And it works like a dream ...I like my pasta a little thicker so Tagliatelle .Great work this looks amazing !!!👍👍
I think I like this one better than the one I have.
Loved this vid!! Thank you for posting!
Spoergunty! Thats my favorite pasta
Great. Now I crave pasta. Well done. Excellent restoration!!❤

But yes to OTND 😅
Nice work as always. Pleasant video. 😁
wow, amazing work, and no, i dont like spaghetti, I LOVE spaghetti
Beautiful restoration mister beautifully restored good job well done
my favorite pasta is Radiatori because I love eating little radiators
Another gorgeous outcome! Cheers from Minnesota, OTND!
I love angel hair
omg is that really how you (anyone) make a new gear??? Or is that simply one of those "I don't know how I'm *supposed* to make a gear, and although it may take a lot more effort, I do know a way THAT WILL WORK!" That was crazy! "Here is my $30 pasta machine, with a $700 gear." lol
absolutely not. this is a case of a restoration channel not having time, equipment, or knowledge on how to make a part.
actual gear cutting is much much more complicated. check out the channel "thisoldtony" for a great indepth beginner crash course on gear cutting. it was a while ago he did it though. worth the watch and if you liked the restoration video maybe you will enjoy some of his stuff too.
Loved how used tracer on lathe
I usually don't leave a comment but this works soo nice good job man
My favorite long pasta is fettuccine and my favorite short pasta is Ziti
I am certain that your shop is very neat and well organized. I do like your holder of wood and the collection thereof.
You are mind numingly though and i appreciate that for real
Watching you do all the stuff on video that we may take the included time spent doing otherwise is beautiful for real
i love This French guy
De très belles images, merci !
I finally used that piece of wood I salvaged in 1982 😅
Nice work and great presentation!
cool video😊
Given it's condition, I would've offered the vendor $10. But amazing job, as usual 🙂
Perfect video as usuall! Good luck, master!
Always enjoy your work!!
Great restoration 👍👍
That pasta should be rolled thinner at the end😁
Amazing job my friend congratulations 👏
Pretty amazing work, dude! It turned out fantastic! 😃
If you need someone to make the tomato sauce, count on me. 😬
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Hi this was a magnificent restoration I really like well done you. You are really clever and talented. Your French spring is like our Scottish spring. Amanda x

Cela fait déjà pas mal de temps que je te suis et à chaque fois tu arrives à surprendre par ta maitrise ! Merci pour ton contenu !
Super Restauration 👍
This is a constructive critique: I think you'd gain more subscribers by going that extra mile. You're at 95% of a perfect restoration in most of your videos. I know that the last 5% are as challenging in terms of time, techniques, and money invested as the first 95%, but I want you to be as successful as my mechanics.
Being specific can be helpful. What's that extra mile you mean?
@@AG_92 Agreed: when a perfect restoration is done, there are no imperfections left, not even the ones that were there from day one, straight out of the factory when new. I guess this may not satisfy your curiosity, but believe me: I'm talking about all things that could be perceived as imperfections, not only in this video and past ones, but in all future ones too. It's a very broad subject, and it's impossible to be more specific without omitting something, as the examples would never be considered as mere details.
