I think grave lords are actually pretty darn easy and perhaps more important for a newbie, forgiving. You can get units back to make up for mistakes, your big vampire monsters hit hard and heal. The only real trick you have to learn is what do you want on the board and what do you want to have pop out of the grave.
Kharadron only being average is insane. They're an army that's designed around its transport capability and your ability to wrinkle brain screen and redeploy, never overcommitting and constantly play right on the edge is the only way you win. I also think that the melee balloon boy build is gaining some steam (most of the recent 4-1's have 12-18 balloons and Brokk) so they're not solely a shooting army. You can smooth brain a 30 thunderer + ironclad list, but it hasn't been putting up many (if any) good results.
I honestly will probably NEVER ever play AOS, but im here to listen to how Rob breaks down each because he has a good insight, and his take aways are great.
As a legacy Dark Elf player, I dread every roadmap reveal. Cities needs a rewrite and it would be healthiest if it drops the elves and dwarves, but I'll really feel it when my subfaction ceases to exist despite having a healthier roster on its own than several entire factions do.
GW wants zero cross pollination between their properties so they can attempt to double dip on sales. You can probably expect models like your Dark Elves or ranges like the Ogres to get moved over to TOW when their AoS refreshs drop. Of course, they might also get the beastmen treatment and just get wholesale removed from AoS.
I do think Dark Elves would work as proxies when Umbraneth are added Although i really hope GW makes models for City Elves and Dwarves in CoS that fit their style more

As a newer player that picked Nighthaunt as my main faction, I totally agree. It's super fun to shove up a blob of 20 Grimghast Reapers and watch my opponent struggle to kill it because I'm rolling a good amount of 4's, and super easy in the movement phase since I can ignore terrain and everything moves pretty fast. I turn off my brain a lot more with Nighthaunt than other factions

Great summary of the Maggotkin ! I play them - non competitively (I just like collecting and painting the Maggotkin models). I am not saying this to provoke but I watched the 2 games (finals and semy) and I didn't see much of big brain moves. What do you think was such a great play on nurgle side? The only one that stand out for me was the cities player engagement choice. Those cold ones on the side that didn't charge for instance. He showed how is valuable to pick fights and preserve units. might wait for new models or
for people local to play path to glory 1000 semas more acivable
Maggotkin is solid but if you just push up the middle you will get smoked, take a look at Hobby colabs Lvo stream. Semi and final with a mortal Maggotkin, very big brained and entertaining.
Tis video is not for top end play
@@thehonestwargamerstreams fair but still, high end and casual do actually meet somewhere and it is not always so clear what is what. Most people I would assume try to get better and many players are in the shadow realm between not that good and actually excellent. Cheers!
I sincerely curious what stood up for you from the nurgle play.
Slann pus loads of krox and aggradons - run forward. Lots of fun
Thing is the simple armies need big wrinkly brain just cause you have no tricks so the basics needs to be flawless. Complicated armies need big wrinkly brain just to remember the right tricks at the right time. Only pure smooth brain armies are the over powered ones where mistakes don't matter and there is a answer and/or a hard question to everything. Imo. Cheers!
My brain is very smooth and I play Ironjawz.
I am also a chicken fillet
everything taste better with a little SALT!.....kragnoss FTW!
LETS GOOOOO
Now I wanna buy gargants
Skaven and FEC belong to Pink i get your point about Codex in general but the way they are played put them in Pink. FeC Just morbeg spam and skaven playing rattling spam
I feel like by picking Stormcast because they're an "easy army to play" only to find out they're average puts *me* in the pink category 😅
i thought warhammer was just about big E and his sons...
That's the fascist but. This is fantasy
I actually think darkoath aren't as bad as theyre made out to be, but definitely not as good as other fragile army options. They can do some silly stuff that can screw with your opponents without being too complex.
Which is ace but it's not 10 chosen up a gaunt summoners ass
@thehonestwargamerstreams oh I know but if more people play them they'll get better balance updates!
