In come all of the angry Harry and hermione shippers just like you said Morgan😂 those saying the dance scene is not meant to be romantic, look at 3:21 again...they literally look into each other’s eyes and you can see the chemistry and the longing to kiss each other. The dance might have started out friendly but by the end, there is no doubt that it’s romantic, friends don’t look at each other like that. It was thrown in to please harry and hermione shippers which is truly awful
Couldn’t have said it better myself. And if you want further proof, here's Emma Watson talking about how it was meant to be romantic ua-cam.com/video/kgPomUWomG0/v-deo.html
Also there was just no point in adding it, it wasn’t in the book so why waste time that could have been used for actual good scenes that they cut? The Dursley’s, kreachers tale, etc
I wish they had put in Ron and Harry's hug after Ron returns. In the book Harry was estatic that Ron returned but in the movies it just seemed like he didn't care. Ron and Harry's bromance is everything!!! Awesome vid!!!!
So do I, but that would have required the filmmakers to actually follow the books and put emphasis on Harry and Ron's bond instead of making everything about Hermione.
The movie cut so many great Ron & Hermione moments. - Ron comforting Hermione after she told him she erased herself from her parents memories - Ron and Hermione dancing at Bill & Fleur’s wedding - Ron shoving Hermione out the way when Death Eaters attack them in the cafe - Hermione comforting an upset Ron at Grimmauld Place when they find out the Weasley’s are being watched - Ron saying to Hermione she could pretend to be Ron’s cousin so the Death Eaters wouldn’t know she was muggle-born - Ron screaming and sobbing Hermione’s name at Malfoy Manor and him pulling her out from under the chandelier when it fell.
You saved the most important moment IMO for last. I was absolutely SHOOK when reading the part where Ron went berserk as Hermione was getting tortured by Bella (Trixy if her sister's name is Cissy? Belly?).
@@francheskajulien8799 Okay I can understand her with Harry... With Draco??? Wtf is wrong with Dramiome people??🙄🙄 Why people are seeing Emma Watson and Tom Felton in Hermione and Draco, respectively?? why they're seeing the actors , and not the character How can Hermione have even a spark between Draco , who used to call her *mudblood* , which is literally an abuse in Magic World. He even dislike to talk to her whenever she angrily reply to her bullying. He even wanted her to die in Chamber of Secrets People will say that he don't like the torture Bellatrix was giving to Hermione in deathly hallows. Just because he's disliking the torture doesn't mean he likes Hermione. He was fearful of the seeing the torture. If Luna for example was tortured the same way as Hermione was , he would've feel the same fear too. It doesn't mean he would like Luna. Yeah I accept that he would grown after that and started respecting Muggle born wizards. But that doesn't imply that he would've started loving Hermione Ron will always be a billion times better than Draco for Hermione. I can understand Harry with her , but never Draco... People saying Draco with Hermione, are either clearly not seeing the character and seeing the Actors in them Or They are very stupid to understand relationship
They missed the whole chapter 'Kreachers Tale'. It was so damn interesting. Also they did not show the final battle the way it was in the book. The Harry-Voldy conversation just before the final battle was amazing. Pity they did not show it!
@Emily Luu yeah exactly In d books he died like a normal human which showed that he too was immortal. But in d books he died when ashes flew from his body.
Yes, I loved the final standoff in the books. The ending in the movie left me very unsatisfied. In the book Harry explains everything and then they both get one shot to see if Harry is right or wrong. In the movie Voldemort casts so many spells at Harry and even has him tied up at one point, and then they physically wrestle. And then Harry kills him with nobody even watching and Moldy Voldy disintegrates into tiny pieces of flesh that my wife found super gross instead of dying normally like the human that he actually was. It lasted way too long, was so overdone, and completely missed the point of the standoff as established in the books. And then Harry doesn't even fix his own wand with the elder wand. Ugh, so many problems with it.
Just watched 3 days ago, and I really disappointed they didn't: - show the whole Dursley family scene - Kreacher and Regulus moment - Harry disguise as Barny(?) during Bill & Fleur wedding
@@Fullsendfilosophy Even I really hated seeing all the Death Eaters flying like Voldemort. And they did a pathetic job on Elphias Doge as well, Albus Dumbledore's close friend just running away when he heard about the Death Eaters doesn't make sense. And the way he defended Dumbledore ( at least in the book ) he would more likely be standing up to the Death Eaters.
@@thelegend1801 In the book it doesn't say what he does because Ron Harry and Hermione disapperate. Certainly leaves a bad taste when they do stuff like that.
I dont agree with the last point. Its the second last film and I dont think anyone wanted another person to be playing Harry Potter for an entire segment of the movie, especially for another bit of character development such as understanding Dumbledore's past. After all, It doesnt affect the plot, like, at all.
also can we talk about the fact that during the scene of harry and Hermione dancing, in the books harry is actually looking at the marauders map for ginny and Hermione is crying about Ron???? like where was that.
Hermione wasn't crying for Ron the full time, she stopped after a day or so. She only cried when she thought Harry was asleep, and Harry looked at the map when he took the watch. They were quite normal otherwise, except for the fact that they didn't use Ron's name.
@@thelegend1801 well harry says in the book to ron that she cried for atleast a week. He said that he suspected that she had cried even more after that but she just didn't want him to know, realizing just how much his absence had cost them. "After you left," he said in a low voice, grateful for the fact that Ron's face was hidden, "she cried for a week. Probably longer, only she didn't want me to see. There were loads of nights when we never even spoke to each other. With you gone..." He could not finish; it was now that Ron was here again that Harry fully realized how much his absence had cost them. -Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Chapter 19 The Silver Doe
Ginny was done dirty in the movie...in the books it's so clear that Harry and Ginny are meant to be together and she's so amazing but in the movie her character is flat
I wish that they left Dudley´s redemption in the movie because that was my favorite part of the book because, in my opinion, it´s the second-most heartwarming scene in the whole book.
In my opinion it's when Harry sees Lupin, Sirius, James, and Lilly. It almost brought tears to my eyes. And sorry it took me so long answer I was just going through my notifications, I even forgot about this comment.
The HP movies were great but the books were so much better. And Rowling saying she would have rather paired Harry and Hermione vs Ron makes no sense. It was obvious from the first film that it would be Ron and Hermione why change it? Most of the interpersonal tension through all the books and movies is the attraction between Ron and Hermione.
She didn't even say that, now you Romione shippers are believing that rubbish too? Watch the fucking interview again instead of reading titles off of Google, do you guys not even know how much the media twists reality?!
Any time I watch the dancing scene, I still think it was more of them (Harry and Hermione) trying to "find a little light in the darkness" but that little bit at the end when they looked like they might kiss is what annoyed me. *A lot.* If they had left that romance-ish nonsense out of that scene it would have been okay. Though I agree that they should have cut that scene altogether to have time to put in the scene with Dudley telling Harry "I don't think you're a waste of space" because it was simply beautiful. Even though Dudley's make-up was a bit off in that scene (though good on the actor for staying fit and healthy!) it was such an impactful moment that it's honestly stupid that they didn't include it in the final version/theatrical release. Edit: I still love that hug between Harry and Hagrid after the Battle Of Hogwarts is over, it beautifully and subtly mirrored the hug between them at the end of The Chamber Of Secrets.
A video about Ron & Harry's "bromance" would be good tbh. They had such an amazing friendship in the books. Ron and Hermione might be his bestfriends but let's be real, Ron was the "first" bestfriend. If Harry had to choose between spending time with Ron or Hermione, he would definitely choose Ron. Like in book 4, when he and Ron weren't speaking to each other, he said something along the lines like :"he liked Hermione's company but she wasn't like his bestfriend Ron..." The movies truly didn't do any justice to their friendship. Instead they had Harry and hermione acting as some sort of "golden duo" with their awkward friend Ron hanging there
Here’s the quote from book 4 “You miss him!” said Hermione impatiently “And I know he misses you!” “Miss him, I don’t miss him”. But this was just a downright lie, Harry liked Hermione very much, but she just wasn’t the same as Ron.
I really don't know why they cut out Dudley's Redemption. I also wish they put Kreacher's backstory and cut out the Harry and Hermione dance scene. Hermione belongs to Ron and Harry belongs with Ginny. All in all, I agree with everything you said
We should’ve got more of Kreacher and R.A.B’s death. And the scene when Harry, Ron and Hermione listens to the goblins, Dean Thomas and Teddy Tonks talking right outside the tent barrier. And especially the whole “Potterwatch” thing when they’re listening to the radio. That’s some of the best scenes in the book imo so the fact that they left them out really pissed me off!
YES! AND in the movies, EVEN IN THE «mentally torture» MOMENT, they tried to make a fool out of Ron (like with the spiders coming out of the horcrux and the weird face)
Did you ever notice that "Deathly Hallows part 1" has actually got very little to do with the deathly Hallows (I hate how Harry just randomly figures out that the stone is inside the snitch - without us even knowing that the stone was on the ring from part 6)
It was unsatisfying because it was 2 hrs 30 minutes of what was essentially exposition for Part 2. It was naturally incomplete. I still enjoy parts of it, but I'm not likely to sit down and rewatch the whole thing any time soon.
@@jackburns6403 yh, but I also hate the fact that when they filmed the scene, they put Emma and dan in *FREAKING silver body paint* and made them kiss and stuff, apparently rupart was on set laughing his lungs out. It just makes my skin crawl for every reason haha
@@elvishh8036 Yh and they said they were covered with silver paint and HALF nacked!! And they had to take soo many takes cause rupert was laughing and Daniel and Emma were laughing.... Honestly, I dont rlly get the other ships, like draco and Hermione, which is like, rlly dumb and harry and Hermione. Like, cant a person have a best friend that is the opposite gender without being shipped with them. I support Rowling decision!!!
I noticed that this movie had a lo of moments that only really happened in the books. - Ron and Dobby never actually met, but the dialogue says differently. - The mirror was never introduced in Order of the Phoenix, so it comes out of nowhere. - Bill and Fleur were never introduced as a couple in _HBP_ - Ron talks about the fire-balls in jars that Hermione always makes, even though that only happened in the books, they were introduced in the first one, they were blue, and we never actually saw them in any other scenes throughout the movie itself - The Will of Sirius was never introduced, so it never establishes that Harry owns Grimmauld place and has become the master of Kreacher. It's because of this that Kreacher answers Harrys questions
This film left me a bit sad due to how it treated Kreacher... It's not that I dislike the film, but I find disappointing how such a precious aspect of the book, how Voldemort doesn't pay attention to small details such as house elves, and how some acts of kindness shown by Harry help him correct Sirius' mistakes is ignored... I don't know, it left a weird taste in my mouth...
I've always loved the dancing scene. Yes they may have played into the Harry-Hermione romantic trope slightly too much; however, I've always thought that it perfectly portrayed the idea of trying to find happiness in the darkest of times. It plays as a somber bittersweet moment between two friends who love each other and hope that the momentum can swing their way.
i was so pissed that they left out dudley’s redemption and regulus and kreachers story but included a useless two minute dance from harry and hermione.
I definitely like part 2 better but I LOVED the Malfoy Manor scene. I think it rly captured how much Ron feels for Hermione in a romantic way and it was rly RLY cute!!!
It's not a matter of ship, it's just a matter of showing the intensity and the difficulties that they have to face that are exalted through that scene.
I personally think that the scene where Harry and Hermoine dances was not at all a necessary addition seeing as it makes the audience think that there is romantic tension between the two of them, especially after the lazy character development they gave Ginny, which made me mad because Harry and Ginny are my favourite couple in the series. It would have have made much more sense if they added the scene with Dudley and Harry. The deleted scene with Petunia could also have been a good addition since that would really minimize the hate the Dursleys are given. People who have only seen the movies know nothing about Grindelwald refusing to give away Dumbledore or how Peter Pettigrew was strangled by the arm which was given to him by Lord Voldemort, which takes us back to the conversation Dumbledore had with Harry during the events of the Prisoner of Azkaban. Some scenes were really well done like the Battle of the Seven Potters and the scene with Xenophilius Lovegood. But that doesnt give the audience who already read the books the satisfaction. Apart from that, great work on the video and eagerly waiting for your upcoming movie essays of the rest of the movies. ☺ Edit: I forgot to add one thing which is the chapter "Kreacher's tale" was not to be excluded from the movie.
The dance scene is so good though. the two of them having a tiny moment of happiness despite everything, with the reality of the world hitting them as the song ends was such a powerful scene imo. Ive never seen it as them 'almost kissing', rather them locking eyes brings them back to reality.
@@Chickendees789 at 35 minutes and 54 seconds into the video: Conversation between JK Rowling and Steve Kloves (2011) she says "it's just on the edge of... where is this going to topple over into, my god they aren't going to kiss are they? Are they?! ARE THEY?!" meaning that they entertained the idea of having them kiss but the intent was to build the tension to lead the audience to believe that something like that was going to happen but there was never any intent to make harry and hermione become romantically involved with each other
@@YoungPadawan85 The problem is I don't feel the romantic tension between them. Hell for years I didn't even noticed the supposed almost kiss because it is so subtil ( Usually I am very perseptive for nounces) and the look exchanged feels the same for me as OhMyHessNess discribet it. I think the reason why I feel so differentlly about that scene maybe that I can't see Harry and Hermione as anything differently then very close friends.
I never saw Hermione and Harry dancing as romantic at all. They were both worried and on edge about Ron and were trying to lighten the mood and cheer each other up. They danced the way two siblings or close friends might.
Harry and Hermione should have been the end game theirs no doubts they for one another and they’re both loyal to each other and defend one another til the very end
This is personally my favorite HP movie. I just love how dreary it is and emotional. Harry losing hedwig and dobby was really sad and the movie ends on a beautiful/emotional note. Just love the shift in seriousness it has from the others.
I hate when they add the dance between Harry and Hermione such a waste. We could have more information about Sirius brother Regulas Black and Kreacher Also during the Hermione torture scene. Ron said Hermione loudly in the books and going ballistic, but instead being calm in the movies which it’s destroys Ron’s character The producer Steve Kloves (or Gloeves I might misspelled it) loves Hermione and given her all the Ron lines to Hermione and He prefers Harry and Hermione over Hermione and Ron. Which it’s wrong. Have he read the books?!
I wouldn't mind the Harry and Hermione dance scene if the Kreacher scene was in there as well and the dance was less romantic. BUT HONESTLY WHY DIDN'T THEY INCLUDE THE GRINDEWALD REDEMPTION OR THE DURSLEY REDEMPTION. Honestly though I would trade the Harry and Hermione dance scene for Vernon and Petunia apologizing to Harry any day.
Am I the only one who cringed with the Harry-Hermione dancing scene? It was unbearable to watch and it didn't offer anything to the story unlike the deleted scene with Dudley and Petunia where we see for the first time their good side.A shame it wasn't included in the movie.
I disagree. Its completely normal for humans to have sexual urges with someone they are isolated with. No matter if your best friend (who just ditched you guys) is in love with her. Especially when that girl is Emma Watson. Their lives absolutely suck at the moment and we can't blame them for wanting to escape by enjoying themselves for once
I'm not a harry and hermione shipper but I like the dancing scene. It seemed completely platonic and did not end in an almost kiss but the sadness of everything happening.
I agree. That's how I see it too. None of them is truely leaning in for a kiss not even 5% or so. I see the long look between them differently as if they see each other's sadness and lonelyness that is still their.
I'm so happy you talked about the Harry and Hermione dancing scene afterRonn leaves. I hate it when they add something that's not in the books.. That scene makes no sense that's one of the reasons people ship Harmione (no offense to people who ship Harmione. It's just my opinion)
They ship it only bc they find dan and emma hot lmfao, same thing with dramione shippers. There's NOTHING from the source material (the BOOKS) that suggest anything romantic between these characters
Um the deleted scene in dh 2 where Draco runs to harry and throws his wand to him and Harry uses it to confringo nagini was sooo sure drarry shippers where y’all at??!
I’ve been waiting for this FOREVER!!!! I always wanted to know your thoughts about Harry and Hermione, and I kind of always knew you preferred the canon ships. I would just like to say JK didn’t actually regret pairing Ron and Hermione, but she did say that they would probably need counselling at some point. She also said that Ginny is perfect for Harry. If we look at all the other ships in the fandom, Harry and Hermione doesn’t seem like a bad idea. However I freaking hate how the movies destroy Ron and Ginny and try to push Harry and Hermione together and nearly ruining Harry Potter for me. I love how you addressed this in a way that would shut ‘em up.
I saw the scene as 2 friends goofily dancing together to try to cheer each other up and I think when they looked at each other at the end of the song it wasn’t romantic at all it was just they came back to the dark life that they are living which made Hermione sad and depressed with what’s happening and Ron not being there.
I think you left out one major reason why DH1 is so unsatisfying: The mess-up of the plot in HBP! Like you said in your previous video essay, they droped so many of these voldemort memories of the book, that it had go wrong in this movie. In both DH movies Harry just "feels" which items are horcruxes whilst in the books the trio completed the mission Dumbeldore started with Harry by putting all the clues of the memories together. In the book all the camping, the breaking into gringrotts etc make much more sense and take the reader with on the journey to solve the horcrux mystery. We know exactly WHY they are on their journey even it is a long and difficult one. But at least there is tension in the first half of the book. In the movie the audience think "Why are they wasting so much time when harry might just know/feel where the horcruxes are?" I think that's why especially the first Deathly Hallows movie feels just like a pointless roadmovie. On top of that - like you said - the payoff of this journey comes not until the second DH.
Well I heard that because Wormtail strangled himself due to Voldemort having control over the hand he gave him, his death would be too graphic for a PG-13 rating. However I think Snape's death was possibly equally as disturbing being bitten by a venomous snake.
#1 Nagini is a constrictor and not venomous to begin with but apparently Jo didn't know that (or care.) Second, they showed the snake attacking Arthur, the missing witch and Harry, so Wormtail's death couldn't been shown by having the hand go to his throat the rest of the scene from behind with Harry and Ron trying to save him.
Personally, I really like the hero's journey cutting off half way. For me, it keeps the suspense and longing for the next movie. The feeling of it being unsatisfying really makes me excited for the next movie to complete the journey.
I do agree with your points on the whole dance sequence, but I do actually really like it. I think I like it because it does represents the whole Dumbledore quote: “Happiness can be even in the darkest of times, if only one remembers to turn on the light.” It showed Harry trying to cheer Hermione up during this hard time, and also trying to bring light upon their own situation.
I always feel dissatisfied with the movies of books I love. :( I agree with most your points. While I love that Harry tried to cheer Hermione up with a little dancing, it was too close to a "first kiss" scene. I'm a canon couple person.
Wormtail not dying isn't nit picking.... it is the worst error in this movie IMO. Peter's moment of mercy and Harry's vindication for saving him in POA
It’s just so satisfying when u watch a video about a certain topic and the person who is talking about it know exactly what there talking about and gets the point across perfectly. Kudos to u bro love all ur videos 👌👌
I am NOT a Harry/Hermione shipper but I absolutely love the dancing scene. It was a beautiful moment between friends. Friends can still have awkward tension with each other especially during times of extreme stress. The end of the scene proves that there's nothing more because Hermione walked away and Harry did not pursue. It was a moment of levity for the characters and the audience because up until this point it was all heavy and dramatic. It was a breather and done beautifully. Loved the song choice, that's what really makes the scene. It's so bittersweet.
I really wish they did put Dudley's redemption and Kreacher's backstory. I also didn't like the part where Harry and Hermione dance scene. Harry belongs to Ginny and Hermione belongs to Ron. All and all i agree with what you said in this video.
hot take: I love the dance sequence as I see nothing romantic in it, just two friends enjoying their company having a light moment amidst all the chaos and evil going on in the world.. to me, it’s very powerful to illustrate the fraternal love between Harry and Hermione, I swear to god I never thought it resembled an almost-kiss situation
3:00 Yes! Thank you! When I saw the Harry and Hermione scene in the movie I was like why? In the book it's literally clear cut that Harry and Hermione aren't like that at all. They've never had anything to indicate that they have those kind of feelings towards each other through out the whole series.
The reason why Ron leaving is sad was because he thinks there’s something between Hermione and Harry that isn’t really there, so you feel for them all and want him to come back. But when they put that little romantic moment in it almost makes Ron’s anger justifiable, which it shouldn’t be. Does that make any sense ? Either way I don’t like that scene 😂
Here's a theory that would never fly: they should release these "Part one, Part Two" movies back to back, same day. Let people see them on different days if they want, but also offer back to back viewings with an intermission in the middle. The studios would never do this because each new movie means a new marketing campaign that keeps the franchise fresh in people's minds, another opportunity to sell merch, etc.
at that point just make a series, if you _really_ want all the time in the world for character development. either that or make it so each movie has its own satisfying conclusion like infinity war and endgame. sure the two stories are connected but both movies are great on their own.
Considering the mess that the sixth film was, this movie was a breath of fresh air; it feels more mature and dark, I loved seeing how the magic is outside of hogwarts and that scene with Harry and Hermione dancing was a perfect “what if...”; they’re alone, lost, stressed and sad by Ron leaving. They might be magical but they’re still human and have needs 😗
I just read the saga for the second time in my life after a long time and after I was finished, I decided to also see all the films again. Both the Deathly Hallows ones left me so disappointed... and what bugged me the most was how the characters behaved. They didn't even seem friends! They often just awkwardly stood around with a blank face, I found them so lifeless compared to how they were in both the books and the earlier films. It took away all emotion for me and I didn't even cry in the sad parts because I couldn't really get involved. I might be exaggerating a bit, but having just finished the books I had high expectations (I'd already seen the films, I just didn't remember much because I was a lot younger the first time) and I kinda felt... eh. (ps. I don't blame the actors, they've proven themselves to be great in their roles, it must be the way they were written/directed)
Its definitely way everything was written. Just compare Dumbledore from GOF and from OotP. Same actor but it looks like 2 totally different Dumbledores
Agreed. That's all I ever saw. Was two friends in a horrible situation, both devastated, just trying to experience ONE moment of joy in MONTHS. I never thought it was romantic.
I’ve always thought that if they had cut some of the unnecessary stuff (like that stupid dancing scene) out of Part 1 there would have been more screen time to go a bit farther. I think if they had extended Part 1 to where they met Aberforth and left it as a cliffhanger that would have been great, because the Gringotts scene would have added some excitement to the first movie and it would have allowed for more detail in Part 2.
Tbh when I saw the dance scene I was just confused (stupid younger me watched the movies first) I knew Ron and Hermione were supposed to be together and I thought maybe I got it all wrong. After reading the book I am officially infuriated
I agree with that if the gringotts scene had been added to part 1, the movie would've been more exciting, but I think the reason they couldn't do that was because it would have left too little to have a film for part 2. Honestly if they just didnt add any scenes, or with the chase scene in the woods, that didnt need to last five minutes because I mean, they're wizards they have wands and they know hoe to apparate. So if Yates had cut time down for some scenes and not added scenes that weren't in the book, there would have plenty of time to have Kreachers Tale the Dursleys redemption scenes and been able to show and explain Wormtails death in the movie, as well as add a few more details from the book, like you know Grindelwald NOT betraying Dumbledore!!!
I never thought Harry and Hermione were thinking of kissing. They just looked at each other. It wasn’t romantic. They’re just friends. I think people are seeing what they want to see.
I'm still slightly angry at supercarlinbrothers for their "why Harry and Hermione should be together". Harry isn't with Hermione bc it breaks up main guy isn't with main girl. Hinny is my favorite ship. Ron and Hermione fight so much bc they care. All I can say.
They also said that they like Hermione and Ron together. In that same video actually. Personally, Harry and Hermione would make an awful couple. Harry was the most boring person on the whole book. Ron makes her laugh and step outside her "this is the way it has to be because the book says so" zone. Harry just lets her be. Never a challenge. Sure Ron was mean to her and they didn't speak for almost two whole books but that was Hermione's doing as much as Ron's.
Yeah I really didnt like that carlin bros video either... they only focused on the movies, which I thought was so strange for them bc they used to focus on the books instead. If you are just watching the movies then I can understand why you'd think Harry and Hermione should be together... but it you read the books it's so clearly Ron and Hermione.
@@Xehanort10 funny story. When ppl find out I'm bi they automatically think I have a crush on my best friend bc we are very close. But she's like my sister so yeah.
Honestly, I don't have a problem with the scene of them dancing. When I watched it, it sort of made sense. They're in the middle of nowhere, away from everyone, hunting for horcruxes no one knows where to find. On top of that, harry's best friend and hermione's crush leaves them. After all that, harry and hermione start dancing, cus it's the only thing that will relieve them from everything. It's a moment of relaxation, forgetting everything. Other than the split second of looking at each other, nothing about the dance looked romantic. I'm pretty sure everyone agrees friends can dance, man and woman included. Btw, I'm not a harry and hermione shipper Also, I've seen alot of comments about this. Why is everyone so pissed about it? It's an added scene just like every other movie has.
Through out the movies it became totally clear that the movies wanted to show some kind of romantic chemistry between Harry and Hermione. There were many clues and lines in the movies, we haven't in the books. It is not about this unneeded dance scene only, but also about Dumbledore asking Harry if there is something more between him and Hermione or Hermiones Line to Harry: "Maybe we should stay here Harry, grow old..." It's not an accident harrys Line about Hermione, that he sees her as a sister was not added. It was on purpose they didn't include that, because it wouldn't have worked then.
I totally agree with everything you said in this video, which is a reason why I always watch both Deathly Hallows one after the other... If I watch only one, and wait some time to finish the story, I feel dissapointed because those elements are not so fresh in my mind anymore
I'll have to say that, even though there seems to be a consensus over the scene of Harry and hermione dancing, I totally loved that scene. First, it is the closest and only "taste" those who wanted them to end up together will get; second, it is subtle but it shows the reality, that them both having lived together 24/7 for a long period and gone through a lot together, by themselves, will grow some sort of chemistry, which ofc they let go as soon as they stop dancing; third, their dance can be interpreted in so many ways: two friends having some fun (I mean what else can they do; not like they packed boardgames) or two never-to-be lovers. Finally, I just really love how nostalgic that song is, and also how, despite all that is going on, they give themselves some times to "chill". But then again, I guess not many people like this scene; I think it added to the movie.
I wholeheartedly agree with everything you said in this video! I don't know if my son feels the same about it's being his and my thing like you feel about your grandmother, but I hope he does. We both love the whole franchise! He's now 25.
I don't like the dance! They added this scene that wasn't even in the book, and cut important scenes like the meaningful hug between Ron and Harry in DH. Because of Harmione lover Steve Kloves, Harrys and Rons friendship suffered so much in the movies, and i hate it. These two Boys have my favourite friendship in the books.
It’s not my favorite movie, but it’s my favorite to watch. And honestly I like the dance scene, because to me the movies makes it clear she chooses Ron, but the dancing helped release the tension and grow their friendship near the end. I really enjoy this watching this movie.
actually i saw an interview and jk really liked Harry and Hermiones scene she said she thinks its what naturally would of happened given the situation they were in they would find comfort in eachothet
My favorite part of the me is when Dobby is saying his speech and Bellatrix, the most bloodthirsty and dangerous Death Eater outside Voldemort, politely listen and lets Dobby speak and tell her off, and then she throws her knife…
Merlin's beard! I have never realised that the Harry and Hermione dancing scene was meant this way! I watched the movies some time ago now and I guess when I first saw it and was like 10 or so I saw it as merely a really sad scene because Ron left and Hermione was so heartbroken and Harry just wanted to cheer her up. That's the way I saw it the first time and I never questioned it after that, I guess it's really been a while since I watched this movie. Also, since I saw the movie always just before the Deathly Hallows Part 2, I didn't have the problem you unfortunately had. To me it is a slow yet great quiet (with some exceptions) before the storm and the big finale. The Grindelwald thing really pissed me off though.
Harry Potter was me and my grandmas thing as well, seeing almost every movie in theaters together. A big reason why Harry Potter will always have a special place on my heart
If I may offer another opinion on the scene between Harry and Hermione: I never really saw the scene as anything romantic, as I agree Harry's feelings for Ginny and Hermione's feelings for Ron are set in stone. I just see it as two friends, trying to find one last bit of joy before they return to the darkness of reality. However, I understand why some might not see it that way.

Kreacher's tale is my favorite chapter. I saw the movies years before reading the books, so when I read that chapter, I was in tears.
The movie cut so many great Ron & Hermione moments.
- Ron comforting Hermione after she told him she erased herself from her parents memories
- Ron and Hermione dancing at Bill & Fleur’s wedding
- Ron shoving Hermione out the way when Death Eaters attack them in the cafe
- Hermione comforting an upset Ron at Grimmauld Place when they find out the Weasley’s are being watched
- Ron saying to Hermione she could pretend to be Ron’s cousin so the Death Eaters wouldn’t know she was muggle-born
- Ron screaming and sobbing Hermione’s name at Malfoy Manor and him pulling her out from under the chandelier when it fell.
Hermione she have ended up with Harry or even Draco theirs more chemistry with either one than with ron
You saved the most important moment IMO for last. I was absolutely SHOOK when reading the part where Ron went berserk as Hermione was getting tortured by Bella (Trixy if her sister's name is Cissy? Belly?).

Wtf is wrong with Dramiome people??🙄🙄
Why people are seeing Emma Watson and Tom Felton in Hermione and Draco, respectively?? why they're seeing the actors , and not the character
How can Hermione have even a spark between Draco , who used to call her *mudblood* , which is literally an abuse in Magic World. He even dislike to talk to her whenever she angrily reply to her bullying. He even wanted her to die in Chamber of Secrets
People will say that he don't like the torture Bellatrix was giving to Hermione in deathly hallows.
But that doesn't imply that he would've started loving Hermione

The biggest truth I've ever heard
They missed the whole chapter 'Kreachers Tale'. It was so damn interesting. Also they did not show the final battle the way it was in the book. The Harry-Voldy conversation just before the final battle was amazing. Pity they did not show it!
@Emily Luu yeah exactly
In d books he died like a normal human which showed that he too was immortal. But in d books he died when ashes flew from his body.
Yeah, the final battle gives me chills whenever I read it
Yes, I loved the final standoff in the books.

Yeah I agree with u.
Yeah, Harry calling Voldemort "Riddle" was such a powerful moment tbh
Just watched 3 days ago, and I really disappointed they didn't:
- show the whole Dursley family scene
- Kreacher and Regulus moment
- Harry disguise as Barny(?) during Bill & Fleur wedding
I agree with your list. I also hated when all the death eaters are able to fly without a broom through apparation...
After all, It doesnt affect the plot, like, at all.
@Mauricio Ortega Later.
also can we talk about the fact that during the scene of harry and Hermione dancing, in the books harry is actually looking at the marauders map for ginny and Hermione is crying about Ron???? like where was that.
With you gone..."

The dancing actually had me in tears in the theaters, it was a long ride seeing them grow up!
@SCXVII I also wanted to ask it

The HP movies were great but the books were so much better. And Rowling saying she would have rather paired Harry and Hermione vs Ron makes no sense. Any time I watch the dancing scene, I still think it was more of them (Harry and Hermione) trying to "find a little light in the darkness" but that little bit at the end when they looked like they might kiss is what annoyed me. *A lot.*
If they had left that romance-ish nonsense out of that scene it would have been okay.
Edit:
I still love that hug between Harry and Hagrid after the Battle Of Hogwarts is over, it beautifully and subtly mirrored the hug between them at the end of The Chamber Of Secrets.
I know. The about-kiss annoyed me a lot.
Instead they had Harry and hermione acting as some sort of "golden duo" with their awkward friend Ron hanging there
I know right??? Harry and Ron's friendship was so shafted in the films
@@scaranvostok3637 Particularly in the later films, Harry is a lot more cold and detached to Ron compared to the books.
Here’s the quote from book 4

We should’ve got more of Kreacher and R.A.B’s death. And the scene when Harry, Ron and Hermione listens to the goblins, Dean Thomas and Teddy Tonks talking right outside the tent barrier. And especially the whole “Potterwatch” thing when they’re listening to the radio. That’s some of the best scenes in the book imo so the fact that they left them out really pissed me off!
Exactly!
Felix Oberhuber well i think that deathly hallows part 1 is great, but yeah the snitch thing pissed me off
I loved the "Potterwatch" segment in the books.

I noticed that this movie had a lo of moments that only really happened in the books.
- Ron and Dobby never actually met, but the dialogue says differently.
- The mirror was never introduced in Order of the Phoenix, so it comes out of nowhere.
- Bill and Fleur were never introduced as a couple in _HBP_
- Ron talks about the fire-balls in jars that Hermione always makes, even though that only happened in the books, they were introduced in the first one, they were blue, and we never actually saw them in any other scenes throughout the movie itself
- The Will of Sirius was never introduced, so it never establishes that Harry owns Grimmauld place and has become the master of Kreacher.
That moment when you realise that movie flame would have been a great director for the Harry Potter films
Edit: I forgot to add one thing which is the chapter "Kreacher's tale" was not to be excluded from the movie.
The dance scene is so good though. the two of them having a tiny moment of happiness despite everything, with the reality of the world hitting them as the song ends was such a powerful scene imo. Ive never seen it as them 'almost kissing', rather them locking eyes brings them back to reality.

Is it just me or is deathly part 1 just a 2 hour and 30 min film of camping and the occasional action scene
It’s meant to be build-up to Part 2
Celeb Reese yeah but still boring in my eyes. And i feel like it was executed much better in the book. But it is what it is
@@ogbabakush4831 they should have named it Harry Potter and friends go camping.
@@JohnnyStormsBoyfriend Ur right!
No, not exactly, but the "camping and hiking" aspect of the movie was way too long. And boring as hell.
Well I heard that because Wormtail strangled himself due to Voldemort having control over the hand he gave him, his death would be too graphic for a PG-13 rating. However I think Snape's death was possibly equally as disturbing being bitten by a venomous snake.
Just remember that Temple of Doom was PG and still is.
There are tricks for that , snake death was used by being seen outside a blurry window ,
#1 Nagini is a constrictor and not venomous to begin with but apparently Jo didn't know that (or care.) Second, they showed the snake attacking Arthur, the missing witch and Harry, so Wormtail's death couldn't been shown by having the hand go to his throat the rest of the scene from behind with Harry and Ron trying to save him.
I agree with most your points.

"i wanna see the story of black and Kreacher, and R.A.B's death"
W.B: *haha dancing time*
Who’s W.B?
also wb: SHAKEY CAM CHASE SCENE
@@sandyku9483 Warner Brothers (I think).
It’s romantic, everyone behind the scenes said that
3:00 Yes!
I think of the dance scene as a way of Harry cheering up hermione who is very sad about Ron leaving
Agreed. That's all I ever saw. Was two friends in a horrible situation, both devastated, just trying to experience ONE moment of joy in MONTHS. I never thought it was romantic.
Same. I always liked it. They never seemed like anything more than friends. And that's something a friend would do.
Exactly. In fact the seen sometimes brings me almost close to tears also because the song is not happy. It's a song that sounds very melancholic.
Part 2 already is one of the shorter Hp Films. If there is less detail, it's because the filmmakers chose to do so - not because of the runtime.
@Tarini Menon so true.
as much as I love this movie I always feel like falling asleep in bits of this movie
I never thought Harry and Hermione were thinking of kissing. They just looked at each other. It wasn’t romantic. They’re just friends. I think people are seeing what they want to see.
I like how you demonstrate all the Harry Potter movies are amazing, but there not all perfect
If they hadn't added the harry and Hermione scene they could have added the Dudley and Petunia Redemption
I'm still slightly angry at supercarlinbrothers for their "why Harry and Hermione should be together". Harry isn't with Hermione bc it breaks up main guy isn't with main girl. Hinny is my favorite ship. Ron and Hermione fight so much bc they care. All I can say.
I agree!
These kind of videos are the reason why there's so many delusional harmione shippers out there
@@Xehanort10 funny story.
Btw, I'm not a harry and hermione shipper
Also, I've seen alot of comments about this. Why is everyone so pissed about it? It's an added scene just like every other movie has.
This movie should have been named Harry Potter and the Extreme Camping Trip
Yes
Through out the movies it became totally clear that the movies wanted to show some kind of romantic chemistry between Harry and Hermione. There were many clues and lines in the movies, we haven't in the books. It is not about this unneeded dance scene only, but also about Dumbledore asking Harry if there is something more between him and Hermione or Hermiones Line to Harry: "Maybe we should stay here Harry, grow old..." It's not an accident harrys Line about Hermione, that he sees her as a sister was not added. It was on purpose they didn't include that, because it wouldn't have worked then.
To everyone in the comments section have a wonderful day
Stop looking for likes these comments arent nice anymore they are so annoying.
I HAD THE WORST DAY EVER!!!!!!
You to have a good one!
You too
Thank you ewok, I hope you have a wonderful day too
I don't get how some people think that Harry and Hermione should be together that is so wrong
They are mainly movie watchers/Weasley haters/ delusional Harmonians
I clicked on the notification to this while watching p1 because I've been waiting for it 4 so long
I did the same, it's 30 minutes past midnight for me.
Anything for this youtuber!
Great Video!
I do agree that because it's split into 2 parts it does feel incomplete and a little bit unsatisfying. I still Love it though!
Who is ready for a bunch of angry Harry and Hermionie shippers
Lol
Me, a Harry and Hermione shipper: 👁👄👁
I ship them, but I also heavily love and respect their friendship. It’s goals honestly
@@astoldbynickgerr you are so right😊😊
Or salty Romione shippers who can't stand to see Harry/Hermione's friendship.
@@groot8950 Hey um, Romione shipper here, but I'm a huge fan of Harry and Hermione's friendship. I find it such as awsome friendship.
DAMMIT i love this channel sooo much
honestly i love the shaky cam because it makes it more exiting. It always keeps me on my toes becuase i cant see everything thats going on
I don't like the dance!
When Morgan says something is bad, it’s bad.
These video essays of yours really are so good
actually i saw an interview and jk really liked Harry and Hermiones scene she said she thinks its what naturally would of happened given the situation they were in they would find comfort in eachothet
The Grindelwald thing really pissed me off though.
i love the consistency of the uploads! keep it going!:)

If you only watched the movies, it seems to hard to believe there's any romantic connection between Harry and Ginny,
Honestly I wish they didn’t spilt Deathly Hallows in two parts, they should’ve edited it as one film
