FACTORY AQUARIUM STANDS!
These stands are built out of cheap particle board and expand with water contact, and what's on top of them? Thousands of pounds of... water. New factory stands scare the crap out of me, they can definitely hold the weight but the longevity just isn't there.

I'm so glad I found your channel. I am an elementary school science teacher, and we recently decided to get 2 fish tanks for our school, as a couple grade levels study mosquito fish and aquatic snails. I was so nervous about what stands to get for our 29 gallon aquariums, but now I'm going to make them instead. I made a huge shelf/stand for a massive bearded dragon enclosure, but aquariums are so much heavier and I was nervous. Thank you!
I have two prefab stands. Both were reinforced with 2x4 and some 1x4 before I even considered filling the tanks with water. 👍

I’m totally with you on that. My 75 gal stand is literally a “fold out stand” that’s what I call it. Scares the $hit out of me! I bought a 180 tall on a massive homemade stand and it’s rock solid. BTW didn’t you get a 210 or something similar from Ohio rescue….it was super tall? I was interested in how you set it up cause my 180 is 3’ tall.
Yea man I built this top fin 55-75 gallon stand and it had only 2 hidden cam screws holding it was scared to put the tank on it 😂
Is stuff like this that makese wary for bigger tanks. I just got a 20 long. Im making its stand right now and even with a step by step with a video demostration of the design working ok much larger tanks, im still terrified. Not just for the property damage living on a second floor, but also because i put so much time into my projects and to have it all literally crash down some day because of shoddy construction. I reinforced that thing as much as i could with screws and cross beams. May not look the best, but it isnt coming down thats for sure.
