oh geez, I'm gonna have to dig out ye ol' headlamp and tiny screwdriver set for this on my day off! thanks for the video, I've been waiting for this one!
hey man i love your channel sorry im on my sons account, but i have a cool way for you to do some more custom cases. if you get a sandblaster it makes a matte finish instead of a shiny chemical process. still use the vinyl and etc but you could also powder coat it to make stick with different colors but keep up the good work i love the channel.
The old timer zippo flip lighter I got Walmart is a plan street chrome and I already repacked it but I left the cotton in peices I didn't stretch em out I inserted the wick from the inside the top of the insert and bend it 3 three times between the cotton pieces put I always make sure the wick is below the top of the zippo insert but not too low because I really hate a small flame on something that not only reusable but stays light as well when u light it I love the BIG FLAME HOMIE!!!!!!👊😉😎
Hey man I hope you are doing well! You are the one who got me into zippos. Quick question, do you know if the high polish brass model 254B is solid brass? I don’t want to polish away the brass if it is just a coating. Thanks for the great content!
Lol yup she’s solid brass u got nothing worry about. All zippos are brass. Except the copper and silver ones. Black matte is brass underneath , chrome is brass underneath and black crackle is brass underneath
Good day. Have you tried to reduce the flame height somehow? When you look at it disassembled, is there any way to do something to reduce the flame? Thank you
Great video man. However, is there ANY demonstrable way to modify these things limit the flame height? The yellow flame insert design is almost perfect, yet it's tainted by the fact that its massive flame output wastes so much fuel. They run out of butane faster than is practical.
Maybe adding a new butane line like he suggested? I have the opposite problem with my insert the flame is too small, I'd like to get a bigger flame out if it
@WetWiIIy I use Colibri as well, I bought the insert off Amazon tho so I wondered if before i got my hands on it maybe somebody bought it, used crap butane in it clogged it up and returned it. It's a possibility.
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors is there a particular brand or style of lighter that has the black tube in it? Bic mini doesn’t have a hose…just straight metal tube. Really need to know where to find tubing. That crappy clear one it came with cracked within a couple of weeks. Help!

I just received my Yellow Flame yesterday. What a huge disapointment. It refuses to light consistantly and now i have a sore thumb. I ordered a different insert from another company yesterday also. If this doesn't work any better, i also ordered Bic elctric disposable lighters. I'm really sorry that i just didn't stick to matches. I'm very disapointed with Zippo. It will make a shiny spot in the landfill.
Hey totally unrelated to the video, but what is up with all these "constatine" lighters on aliexpress? Was that movie like a huge hit in China or something?
Movie was a big hit in general but Asia is obsessed with zippos since ww2. Most zippos in the world today are sold over there. 60% Asian 30% USA then small percentage for the rest of the world
the c clamp fell off mine as i took it out of the package (literally I opened the box and it fell out. Didnt know what it was) i went to pick it up, dropped it, and it disappeared
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors good to know, I have also replaced the flints in my yellow flame lighters and that seems to have fixed the issue. Maybe cheap Chinese flints? I am assuming the ones I originally tried to use as replacements were probably too old?
@@TheOzarkWizard yeah I only use genuine zippo or ronson flints. They are the complete same no difference. Also when the flint is low for some reason. They are also hard to lite
Plastic? Yuck, after about ten years that thing will develop microscopic cracks in the plastic and leak out all of the butane. I have had that happen to about half dozen "premium" lighters. Also avoid using the Brunton Fuel Tool screw on butane tank adapter that allows you to use camping style butane tanks. The butane in those tanks is not ultra fine filtered and will clog up the filters that are found on the feed tube to the spring loaded nozzle. It will render the lighter useless after one or two refills. I did inherit an interesting lighter that is used for pipes. It’s a naphtha lighter that I use Zippo fuel in. There is a little tube just behind the wick and when you light it for cigarette it works just fine but when you want to light a pipe you tilt the lighter so the flame hits the tube which heats it and you have a gas jet shoot out allowing one to light their pipe. Pretty nifty! I will be trying the plastic sandwich bag trick on this lighter since it’s horrible at keeping fuel in it. Since the case is a little looser than a zippo I might also try the nylon vacuum bags to see if that might give me a better fit.
Don’t forget to leave a like !
Hello Brother, just wanted to ask a question.
Can I use Medical Cotton for my Zippo Insert?
@@VishalPatel-kr8lw yeah buds

Good to know! My Yellow Flame works flawlessly, but in the wind I stay with my brass 1941 replica, which is my favorite Zippo of all.
Yeah can’t beat fluid or a 41 rep! I like the butane for my table lighters though. Don’t have to fill them all the time. Only reason I use them lol

I have a turbo butane and a yellow flame. Is it possible to insert the core from the turbo into the yellow flame to have an adjustable flame?
