No matter how many times I see it, that shot of Catalina Island in the intro takes my breath away every time. Keep up the amazing work, Josh. Thanks for bringing us along on the journey!
Josh, your videography skills are top shelf! Awesome edits and flow of pics! I have family in that area and it has never looked better than it does in your videos :)!!! Thanks so much for the beautiful work 🤩!!!
Great video! Question though, at 10:50 it shows how to make a downwind step taxi to takeoff. I was taught to never turn when “on the step” and downwind due to risk of capsizing. Does this only apply in strong winds? Input from the author or others with experience would be appreciated.

Thanks for some great videos this year. Kept many of us pilots going through lock down! Loved the Alaska float plane videos. Brought back some great memories on doing my rating in British Columbia a few years ago, and a memorable day of 27 landings on 6 different lakes in perfect conditions. Happy holiday to all
Hey brudah love your videos! Great content and education! Hey are you still selling the kneeboard checklist? Keep up the great work!! Stay healthy safe and blessed 🙌🏾
Hey! I love to see the Alaska content! I've gone up in the summers since I was small because my grandparents live up there. Definitely a very special place to me and all. A dream of mine that I'm planning on pursuing as soon as possible, is flying DHC-2 Beavers up north somewhere! but I have a long way to go yet! Fly safe and here's to a great 2022!
Enjoying your float training immensely. Is there a particular reason why one doesn't add the second stage of flaps a lot earlier i.e. configure the plane when on final ? Just wonder if it isn't possible to complete the last 60-45 seconds of flight with stage 2 flaps rather than reaching for flaps, whilst inadvertently changing the attitude with the yoke, skirting over the tree line etc. Happy Holidays.
I'd like to know how you can control the flaps on an aircraft electrically controlled flaps. You need it to come back slowly, as you said in the last vid, but you can't really control the flap speed of electric flaps... even on manual ones on 80991. Any tips on that?
Hi Josh, between you and Chris Palmer you have convinced me to go back to Alaska to get my float rating. What a great video. I would love to get you to help me learn how to do video in our V35B. Do you teach that?

Thank you!! Hoping to go get that shot again sometime soon.
So good. I love these videos in AK. Chris' channel is also one of my favorites.
No words adequately describe the beauty of this scenery. Thanks for sharing.
I'm glad you chose Alaska too! Beautiful!
Merry Christmas and New Year to you and your friends and family!
I love this series.
Cheers,
Rik Spector
I love your videos! Not only do you give us some good teaching moments, but you're learning more along the way as well

I’m so jealous ! Flying Alaska has been on my bucket list for a long time. By the way I’m a fellow Texan .

Very good Josh. Alaska is the best that's for sure. May have to look into this in the future.
Love the flying...but the video...the scenery...WOW!
Josh, you are living the Dream. So happy for your new rating.
Yeah Alaska is amazing but rn it’s cold af not very fun hopefully you enjoyed it here in Alaska
Josh I love how your videos tell stories and show the technical aspects of flying! Plus, your cinematography is sick! Thanks for all the videos!

@@sethadams4871 In opinion and many others Josh is the best video maker on UA-cam his skill is out of this word and His ADM is solid.
@@sethadams4871 Yes my videos are horrible but why would you be so mean what is the point?

Awesome video!! Merry Christmas 🎄
It is so beautiful there!
Well Done Josh! And the scenery is worth the trip. What better place could there be to learn the Float plane work.
Wow! Awesome scenery!
beginning B-Roll footage you said "Foley airport", I fly out of Foley, AL!

Do you ever plan on flying 991 to Alaska? That would be an awesome trip.

Impressive how technical it gets. I still wonder how your IFR skills are after a while - any chance you'll be in some IMC any time soon?
Man... you can't find that in TX.
Hi, can you please rerelease the notepads.
I wanna get my float cert so I can fly fish remotely in Canada
It’s amazing!! And using it to go fly fishing is the ultimate.

Love the videos but how can anyone not ask about the fishing????
Lol, I stand corrected Josh. Should’ve finished video before commenting. Great video as usual!
Looks like you're engine cowl needs some stop drilling done to it
Was hoping Sarah would be in this. (From the previous Alaska float plane videos)
I'm going to Alaska Floats and Skis in May and it's your fault.
What's Moonshadow? It's a Cat Stevens song 😆
👍🏻
mmmm.. smell that fresh clean air as they fly in their gasoline engine airplane with zero pollution devices.... LOL yeah.. they're part of the problem
