@CitySkateboards look in the booklets, you'll see he's credited as a co-writer for blackened, my friend of misery, and where the wild things are, as MrSFblack said. and all the bass part he plays in the cunning stunts doodle before nothing else matters and the short riff before fade, he wrote those. even the sanitarium part had been made by him, at least the part at the solo, as well as the intro to nothing, the rest of it was written by james
@ZombieRemix my friend of misery indeed, btw, that music he wrote himself, but got cut out of the album by bob Jason was kidoff pissed becouse that bit was his baby and on that album he got more insay what goes in a song, and there is more bass in the blackalbum as you may hear, but lots got cut, and downtuned so the bass is not that load as originaly recorded. one of the things that played in those day already, and a reason why he left, and robert is picking the fruits of jasons laybors
@Lycosization People said the same thing when Jason came into the band after Cliff died, I prefer the first 3 albums over ANY other Metallica album so enjoy what you prefer, don't insult your band though.
I hope that Jason never return to Metallica. His new project NEWST3D kicked so hard... I love Metallica but I love that pepole who release own dreams and Jason is too creative to be only bass player - even in Metallica. Rock on Jason!
@CitySkateboards He wrote My Friend Of Misery, as i`m sure you are aware of, and the bass parts in said songs aren`t played by a shitty bassist, what Jason didn`t have in skill, he made up for with showmanship and balls..

but rob preforms... and thats a different style that metallica uses... everyone is headbanging.. and rob is just spinning around... kinda weird.. but fuckin awesome!
if cliff was still alive.. metallica was way better.. jason was good.,. and rob plays with fingerstyle too.. a great preformer too though, but cliff had it.. oldskool
