When was the last time you lubricated your tread belt? I’m using 100% silicone from Noosa

  • Hey UA-cam Family!
    Share this info with others that own a treadmill!
    If you own a treadmill proper belt maintenance is very important. Many seem to neglect taking care of their treadmills. Proper belt lubrication helps to reduce wear on other parts of the treadmill. Excess strain can damage your control board, running deck and more. The lack of lubrication can cause an excess of heat and friction that can cause a lot of unnecessary damage and issues.
    Most treadmills use 100% silicone oil or wax. Typically silicone is best but check your user’s manual for what’s best.
    Typically, lubrication is warranted after 30 hours of use but again check your user’s manual for your maintenance cycle.
    I’m using 100% silicone oil by Noosa. You can use any brand though. You can purchase it right on Amazon or your treadmill may have come with a small bottle. I like this one because of applicator. If your bottle doesn’t have an applicator you’ll need about one tablespoon per side.
    Remember WD-40 should not be used as a belt lubricant…that can be very dangerous due to increase slipping, etc. You may be able to use it on other squeaky parts but definitely not as a belt lubricant. Always refer to your user’s manual or a treadmill repair company if you have in depth questions.
    Please let me know if you have any questions.

      Hi Janier! Many forget to take care of their treadmills! Make sure to check out your user's manual for how yours should be maintained. The info should also be online if you no longer have the manual. I'm glad this helped!

      Hi! Thank you for your question. Sorry about the delay. You never know with this type of issue...it could be your moto. I would call customer service for your brand and particular issue to help get some troubleshooting in. How long have you had your treadmill?

    My treadmill has these compartments on both sides at the back to put oil in, so should I just put oil in the compartments or below the belt

      @Treadchic  Рік тому

      Hi there! Thank you for your question...so sorry about the delay. If your treadmill has a special compartment for oil then that may be the right place. What type of treadmill to you have? It would be best to look up the manual or search for your exact treadmill on UA-cam. Some treadmill's maintenance protocols are so different.

    I’m usually landing my feet toward the front of the deck instead of the middle. Should I apply it there directly or will it make its way from the middle to front despite the belt going the opposite direction. It’s the deck that gets lubber not the belt technically?

    • @Treadchic
      @Treadchic  4 місяці тому +1

      Good question!! You can put it right in the middle and the lube will make its way throughout the deck as the belt goes around. You have to walk on it for the 5 minutes so that it distributes evenly. Let me know if that makes sense. Let me know if you have any other questions. I hope this helps.

    First time buying a treadmill. Everything is setup including this step. But my treadmill still has this rubber smell. Does this smell go away eventually?

    • @Treadchic
      @Treadchic  Рік тому +1

      Hi! Congratulations on your new treadmill! Yes...the rubber smell will go away with time. It's like that new car smell! Similar to new tires or the interior of a new car. The more you use it the faster the smell should go away. All the best! Happy Moving!
