Although by the point this came along, the shot in the pitch black hallway with nothing but the shot of a gun lighting the screen was some of the most amazing cinematography and fitted so well with the character.
@@jeeroylenkins6625 the reflection in his glasses should be the FaceTime call that he’s on. You can tell that the video playing in front him on a cell phone is not the conversation that he’s actually having
Yeah I don't understand the reflection it was so distracting. It was clearly not batman, what was on the screen he was watching. Thought batman would later would analyse his reflection to find what was he looking at.
@Colt Hoffman I mean, to get the Riddler right, all you have to do is include these simple but important aspects: -Tells riddles. -Give him a green outfit with 1 or more question mark insignia(s). -Give him a superiority complex and a fragile ego. -But also make him actually terrifying and threatening as well. And there you have it. Don't add anything less than that.
I was really impressed with the riddler in this movie, they went less with a glamorous cartoony riddler and more with a mellowed down jigsaw like riddler, but they balanced the line perfectly between gritty and entertaining
@@ameliej6690 well still, Dano didn’t direct the movie. He directed the one scene that only he was in, so.... he directed himself? Not exactly something I’d brag about
After watching this movie I can say with certainty that scene was one of the most thrilling and tense of the whole movie. I think Dano wanted to get the perfect tone and delivery necessary to sell the pressure of the scene.
Considering Pattinson received a measly $3 million to play Batman, I’m guessing Paul Dano got $500K-1 million. Which is totally insane when you consider Jim Carrey received about $20 million to play Riddler in Batman Forever, which was kinda lame.
Everyone makes fun of comic book characters when they’re portrayed as “real life cartoons”, forgetting that they are cartoons and aren’t necessarily made for a hyper-realistic cinematic world. Maybe they are made for more of a stylized Tim Burton world.
The Part where Nigma/Nashton belittles Batman was absolutely captivating. Its already close to the three hour mark at that time and to have that pop up was truly chilling. If Riddler is this cunning and maniacal how much more the Joker, with the Riddler.
At the scene of showing his podcast at the tv you could see there's a bunch of viewers commentings, when the riddler says "say hello to my followers". Among those comments there's one comment, said " turn EM all to PINK MIST!" This maybe a little nudge to Peter Saarsgard's role in the jarhead movie about US's Marines STA talking about the pink mist in shooting. This movie it’s just crazy that’s the batman i want to see and the Riddler it’s amazing really scary but he had some funny moments lol good movie maybe the best batman movie
Wow, I haven't seen the movie yet but I didnt know the toddler was played by that preacher kid from "There Will Be Blood". Kind of fitting though for such a dark movie.
Just finished it and I thought it was great... however 200 takes to get the scene is pretty ridiculous. How about you go to Starbucks and your latte has to be remade 200 times, not because you didn't like it but because the Barista didn't like how it looked or how they made it. On top of that, you are the manager. This is not the stuff of great actors; it is the stuff of an insecure actor.
Hope riddler comes back in the sequel with joker edward nashton aka the riddler was really great and hope to get more of the character he was a mix of zodiac jigsaw and nashton slightly looked like jeffery dahmer in the interrogation scene
Which scene from The Batman made you realize how great the movie will be?
I think we all know it was the moment we heard the sound of the engine of the batmobile

The riddler was a creepy “Bates Motel” weirdo mommas boy. Instead of clever, articulate, witty… he was trying so hard to be the next Joaquin Joker…
What are you even talking about? He was witty and clever just more psychotic.
