the sarcasm radiates from this video, coincidentally powering my calculator.
hhahaaahaha
😂😂😂
Matt Marlborough, where can I purchase one of these marvellous sarcasm powered calculation devices?
@@usmanh770 g GG
The sarcasm in this video is insane.
Dramawind "...should you wish to learn a foreign language..." Lol!
One Hunnit Tech It doesn't do calculations in a bin.
I need a calculator on the screen
Am I only one who thinks that this was a lot funnier than a lot of TV comedy shows?
No
No, you are not.
Borjan Gagovski No.
Borjan Gagovski Nope
Considering this is _the_ stand up mathematician we're dealing with, nope.
"and should you be using this to do calculations in an RV, lets say you're making meth"
~ Numberphile 2013
always use the protective cover when doing hardcore math, you don't want to catch a calculus transmitted disease
+Ankush Girotra Please guys no more likes, leave it as it is
+ILYES No.LIKEing is my birthright and I will have it.
+Adriyaman Banerjee It is already ruined, so go ahead, like it as many times as you wish
+ILYES Why?Was it 69 or something?
Get your cover tested periodically, and avoid trading it with more than one person, at a time.
The Cannon Arc Design looks inaccurate, but it is actually really precise; when multiplying the square root of 2 by itself, any good calculator will say it's 2, but in race mode, this calculator has taken the values as velocities and, considering special relativity, it has given us an even more precise result!
No
My HP32Sii gives 1.99999999999 (plus a few more internal 9's).
"In addition to the normal zero, you've got the double zero. That's for when things are reeeeeally zero. I mean this ones pretty zero, this ones absolute zero" lmaaaooo
Nah, it's just to give the house a bigger advantage.
So you're saying this calculator is American (and not French)?
what if you divide by 00?
+Dominic Littlewood
You get infinity squared and crash all of mathematics.
are there any calculators designed specifically for "in a bin" use? also if I use a regular calculator in a bin, does it void the warranty? thank you
+karffiol - I never had a calculator designed for bin use, and I regret it. I accidentally used my Citizen calculator in a bin, and it stopped working.
When I tried to make a warranty claim, the technician instantly recognized that it was misused (bin use) and refused to fix it.
+MasterBata well that's tough, damn those calculator bin recognition systems!
The bamboo one, unboxing at Numberphile's channel lol
Binary Calculator, eh?
You may want to give the bin a hug before attempting. Only do this if you have a hug-compatible calculator (Marked Hg).
I like how the first calculator has the same accuracy as the third, but still got a much lower mark xD
The first calculator has 8 digits, the third has 12, and both round to the last digit. That makes the third calculator about 10 thousand times more accurate than the first.
RFC3514 True, I should be ashamed of myself. No math for me for 1 week.
watch it again, the first one came up with 1,99...98 as the answer to sqrt(2)², the second had it as 1,99...99 while even displaying more digits. also, it switched to racing mode!!!1
(omg, i can't believe i'm arguing about this)
must have been calculated using one of those two calculators.
probably cause it had more operations.
so percentage wise its the same accuracy but straight number wise it would be higher.
"12! 12 digits - that's amazing! i'm surprised they don't write that right across the to- oh they do, there it is..." this is honestly the funniest math video (11:17 )
I really love these videos
thank you
You're quite welcome.
Yeah....... I love you guys to make these..........
When would things be "really zero"?
Are we talking about a zero with an infinite string of zeroes?
Or what is it?
Hm...
joke
your head
I've always found unboxing videos completely pointless and stupid. I love this satirical take on it.
I'm glad I'm not the only one :)
I have a great appreciation for witty British sarcasm.
This is so funny. "It tells you not to put it in th bin - because its difficult to use it in the bin" this video is full of great jokes, and definetly I'll add to my favourites!
What does bin mean?
Justin gurbij
I have encountered devices that use the term bin to refer to the concept of ‘the binary positional-notation numeral system’. The majority of calculators in the video are likely to be limited to the decimal one.
How can you open these mint condition relics without gloves on??!?!
Relics?
"splashsafety in case youre calculating in the shower or the swimmingpool"... i just love you guys...
RV mode is clearly intended for Heisenberg.
l2ic3 can't believe you didn't get top comment... yet
+l2ic3 are you ever gonna get top comment?
+Daniel Sultana what about now? I'm on mobile so I can't check
Should this be a post-nuclear winter, you can continue calculating solely on the battery. Where do you get that from Matt? Absolutely loving your humor.
Best Unboxer Ever!
Best unboxing video ever
"...it has put it into racing mode though." Hilarious
I first saw this as, "Oh Numberphile had nothing to do so they made a joke video", but after seeing it... I still think the same way, _but_ I was pleasantly entertained.
There's too many funny things said to quote
"thats for when things are really zero" I absolutely lost it
"..which is an average score of four point one six reoccurring." :D
The best unboxing video on UA-cam. Please do another episode using graphing calculators :)
The tongue in cheek stuff - water protection jacket, RV mode, ABSOLUTEtely zero, etc - had me absolutely rolling with laughter! Fantastic geek humor!
Lessons for foreign languages! XD
+RedsBoneStuff hahahahahhahahaaha XD
This is the best unboxing video I have ever seen. I would have never expected it from a calculator unboxing...
the "7 X 7" test... ha ha ha
.. and some more (not so accurate) tests... LOL
Of course you cannot make calculation in a bin, there is no sunlight there.
your neighbors must think your nuts, I can hear them now " John the odd man is dropping Calculators in the middle of the road again". in all, honesty you do awesome videos, love the British humor.
I would've loved to see you ring the Morrisons helpline for lols.
awesome:
"...to allow easy reinsertion of the calculator into it's protective cover"
Did a mathematician seriously just say its safer to cut a blade towards you?
Or am I Sheldon Cooper and didn't realize it was sarcasm?
+Paulygon He also uses the back of the blade at the beginning
+Paulygon There is an YT annotation that clearly says it was a joke.
+Ma4zu6 I can't get annotations on mobile.
The entire video is a joke/parody, so yes, you missed the joke
+tj12711 I need to read the book Leonard and Penny gave me...
That water protecting cover is an amazing idea! I can't tell you have many times i've been in the shower and wanted to do calculations! And when I'm in bed, that raised 5 will help me do those calculations in the shower during a blackout!
I have no idea how I got into watching this video, but I'm glad I did. From the very first moments to it's end I just couldn't stop laughting.
Funny stuff and really nicley made!
British humor...
Karl Muster i'm not british and i only laugh at british humor...this video is the funniest thing ever
There were some pretty great parts. My favorite was the parts where he was admiring the topology of the box and "GT racing" mode. It's just that a lot of it wasn't funy to me.
As opposed to dutch humor? Or japanese humor? Or swaziland humor?
Seriously, I'm American and this is hilarious. As far as I'm concerned there's no difference. If he didn't have a British accent but said the exact same things you wouldn't have said anything. Actually, you might have just said you didn't like it for some other reason ('uhh... itz stoopid.').
You mean the best kind of humor?
Diego Morales Really dry snark is considered to be British for some reason.
This was absolutely hilarious. Kudos. So glad I discovered this series thanks to the latest installment.
I love how he shows how to open to boxes so he can return it later, then 10 minutes later drops them, splashes them with water, or burns them. But atleast you did not damage the box I guess
i'll totally use the last one when im in my underwater racing RV during a post-apocalyptic winter

Not a single soul:

"Calculator Unboxing"
Just in case anyone is curious about the Canon, MU is 'markup', GT is 'grand total' and RV is 'reverse' (operands).
TI-89 Titanium master race reporting.
lol, "cutting towards my body so I can keep an eye on the blade."
10x more interesting than any iPhone unboxing I've seen on TechFeed! lmao
8:52 wow, that's a good idea! I've never been sure about the best way to use my calculator in a swimming pool!
I almost thought this was going to be a parody of unboxing, but it's just loads of fantastic humorous commentary! Love it!
Lol the sarcasm in this video... Do a ti84 color review plz
It's 1am, i don't even ask myself how I got here.
"Packaged it in a kind of cuboid of cardboard." Hilarious!
Best unboxing...EVER!! You really get to see everything you want!
Looking forward to the full reviews.
Thanks
I went into this without much of an interest for calculators, I just figured "but hey, it's numberphile. it has to be good." and it was. absolutely hilarious, and I learnt a bit about calculator inaccuracy. awesome.
make all the jokes that you want, but I didn't know that the sqr2 test was a thing. I'm amazed.
What exactly is the square root test?
pitthepig ok thanks!
These videos are absolutely the best things to watch when you haven't slept in quite a few hours.
Never in my life did I expect to come across one of these... I love it.
unboxing calculators lol
It's very difficult to use in a bin. EPIC LOL
Loved the dry wit, actually lolled quite a few times. I would welcome any more similar videos, such as more unboxings or reviews. Thanks!
the subtle humor makes these 13 minutes of my life worth while...
This is the most entertaining video I've seen all day! :D
this issss funny :') now im on a marathon watching calculator unboxings :')
Numberphile: carefully saves blister
Also numberphile: destroys every calculator!!!
So funny, still coming back to watch it even after10+ times already and I don't know why lol
I totally love your humour!
The best parody on all the ridicules reviews on youtube. Brilliant stuff!
I can't begin to describe how much I love these. Matt Parker is hilarious and I would love to see more :)
These make me laugh so hard. I especially love the 'little professor' one
This dudes sarcasm has me dying
I am literally watching calculator unboxings, what is my life
Same here
Frank Da Tank
Can I find a Calculator to work out the meaning of Life, the Universe, and EVERYTHING?!
Well what about my personality problems then? I need One that, can work that out to ten decimal places.
The sarcasm is strong with this one. The only numberphile videos that I truly understand.
I love how calculator unboxings have gone from this to 100% dry British wit and sarcasm.
For the accuracy i give a 6.99999... just made my day
I wonder how many people actually got that xD
Very informative, been wanting to learn a foreign language for a while now.
I... actually watched this for over 13 minutes!? Amazing.
I'm liking that sine accuracy trick. I'll be using that lots now.
I can''t give this enough thumbs up.
It's 1:30 AM, why am I watching Calculator Reviews?
Ryan Galata 1:20 am here
4:45 here
Lol 1:36 AM here
Thank you numberphile for helping me decide which Calculator to use
Excellent schtuff guys, still chuckling, thank you.
This is one of the funniest videos on UA-cam.
Please call the customer support and ask math questions!
I especially enjoyed the 'I wouldn't write a song about it' part. Wonderful bit of irony there! xD
Very useful video. I'll use the same tests next time i'm getting myself a new calculator.
I was taking a shower in my recreational vehicle today, and I suddenly had the rational need to find the area of the tiles in my shower. Luckily, I had that protective waterproof cover for my calculator.
did i just watch a 13 minute calculator unboxing
toucan 夢 And loved every minute
Love the many tests!
This was a great change-of-pace video! Slightly informative and much more than slightly funny. Great bit about the topology of the cuboid
Is 7*7 a kind of a special test for calculators? (A common procesor error or something?)
Probably not, just to figure out and show that its working
They were mocking the fact that they didn't have any sophisticated tests
+Владимир Кузнецов No just an accuracy test.1divided by 7 times seven should give exactly 1 but many calculators dont and give you 0.99999998 or something like that.
Im watching calculator unboxings wtf am I doing
this has more humor than most stand up acts. props to Matt!
8:54 who don't use a calculator in a swimming pool 🤣
6.542 possibly a 7. I cannot take how funny this is
RV mode for cooking meth and GT mode for racing lmao
I love the humor of this video!
This is probably the best product review video in the whole of UA-cam!
I really appreciate the Breaking Bad reference at 10:08
Walter White approves of the RV mode
This is probably my fourth time watching over the last few months. I laugh every time.
It's been 8 years. I still watch this regularly when I need to laugh.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
PLEASE DO MORE OF THESE VIDOES!!!!
IT'S BEEN AWHILE SINCE THE LAST ONE AND I THINK WE'D ALL LOVE TO SEE MORE!
EXTREMELY ENTERTAINING!!
