You should see how badass Thrawn is in Boofire191's Earth in Star Wars: Galactic Century.

You had me right up until "democratically elected senate." This would, of course, be the ideal scenario, and the one we would WANT Thrawn to follow.
But democracy is not the Chiss way, not the way he was raised, and he always said in his original trilogy that the Republic's insistence on giving everyone a voice and a vote in the things that happened in their government is what ultimately destroyed them. He believed the power in government MUST be more centralized and streamlined, left in the hands of a much smaller group of people than the Galactic Senate had been. With over a million member worlds, it took too much time and effort (and often a great deal of deceit) to sway a majority of representatives to see any one issue in the same way.
He much preferred the Imperial way of saying "This is how it's going to be, deal with it. End of discussion." He believed that only that kind of government, where the control was in fewer and fewer hands (just as the military had become by Palpatine creating the rank of Grand Admiral and having no more than 12 of them at a time overseeing the Navy) was the only way to effectively meet the threat coming from the Unknown Regions. While Thrawn has always been accepting of good ideas even if they came from sources other than himself, in the end, he does not allow his orders to be questioned. He told a crewman so in Heir to the Empire when the guy acknowledged an order by saying "Yes sir" with a questioning tone. Thrawn said in a firm and cold way, "You need not understand every order given to you. You need only to *obey* it."
He's an infinitely patient man with a Big Picture view on things nut he had no patience with incompetence or endless squabbling over minor details. We did see flashes of impatience and even anger from him in HttE, and however he might have been written later in other stories, we have to remember that those stories were set BEFORE HttE and they represent the man he WAS...the leader he had been before his Unknown Regions tour and before the original Thrawn trilogy. People rarely revert BACK to the person they used to be. Decades of war would have, by the time you describe here, cemented the views Thrawn held in the HttE trilogy, and I think he would be even less likely to put the power back in the hands of "the people," most of whom (let's face it) just didn't have the proper training/education to grasp the nuances of political and military strategy.
He is of the opinion in his original trilogy that the average people don't care who is in charge as long as it doesn't interfere much with their daily lives and they are still able to put food on the table, so I would think he doesn't much believe there will be a big outcry if people aren't given democracy. *Most* people did not mind being part of the empire, in fact. The ones who revolted against Imperial rule were the minority populations--non-hiumans, near-humans, and the humans who felt moral outrage at the way these species were treated--who were exploited, enslaved, or discarded and ignored in times of need.
Thrawn didn't have a problem with the Empire as a government; he only said that Palpatine made mistakes in not treating all his Imperial subjects the same, and that if he had done that, he never would have had a war to begin with. So I can't see Thrawn agreeing to go back to the unwieldy "everybody has a voice in their fate" democratic senate, especially if he had re-established the Empire once already. He seems much more like "I know what's best for you; you will *learn* to trust in that," type of leader.
ALL THAT SAID...I love this scenario. Things could have been so much more interesting if Thrawn had lived.
That is....that is basically what i think and how i view and autocratic government as a whole, well spoken
@@halonut96 As long as you have a competent leader who doesn't abuse his power, democracy can just fuck itself.

Krosis Seyn Not that Legends gave Ackbar a good death either. His death was only mentioned in the final novel in The New Jedi Order series, and it wasn't even in combat, but rather old age.
@@sambridgers9543 Dying peacefully by old age is not a bad death, it is a good death. Just not a death with glory or heroism attached to it.

@@lukeskywalkerthe2nd773 So is Luke being cloned now too?
844Steam Fan um, well, in a very popular Legends book/comic
@@844SteamFan I thought that was named Luuke?
I disagree with the Jedi Civil War entirely because Kyle Katarn and Luke were close friends and allies in Legends so they would understand each other's views. The Jedi were also too few in number to start a civil war and were almost wholly loyal to Luke due to his accomplishments, wisdom, and experience in such things.
That being said however, I agree that Thrawn would deal with things the way you laid out, but not with the World Devastators of the Dark Empire, maybe something similar, but not those because he views the destruction of planets, or strip mining them, to be wasteful and unnecessary. What he probably would have done is find an asteroid belt that was rich in minerals and metals that could be used to build ships and mine there, but not strip mine planets.
You should write a fan fiction for this stuff man, it would be something I'd read.
I also dont see Anakin Solo pulling that...more of a Jacen thing id think tbh
Great video :) I like the idea of the Dark Empire being a common enemy to unite Thrawn and the New Republic, and I really like to imagine how Thrawn would have dealt with their crazier super weapons like the Eclipses and the Galaxy Gun, and 'Galactic Federation' is nice sounding term for a post-Empire government.
I do feel like it's a bit of a Diabolus ex Machina to have Thrawn killed off basically right after the Vong are dealt with. Not to mention the idea of a non-force using third party like Thrawn trying to stabilize a Jedi Civil war is a very interesting one so it feels like killing him off is wasting some potential.
It makes sense though, the risk of Thrawn siding with the peace faction jedi would have been to great and would have brought certain defeat to the war faction jedi. So they open the civil war by taking out what is realistically their biggest threat on a macro scale, crippling the military might of the Federation allowing them to focus on Luke and his peace faction.
@@jonathantanner7083 I agree that it makes sense that the war faction Jedi would try to take Thrawn out, but I don't think Thrawn would have ended up 'siding' with the Peace faction. Despite working closely with them for years, its very likely that Thrawn would have been openly highly critical of the Jedi's pacifist philosophy, though he likely also would have been critical of the War factions growing aggressive/power hungry tendencies (having been personally acquainted with the likes of C'byoth)
I just feel like the presence of a non-force using third-party like Thrawn, who couldn't care less about 'Light vs. Dark', and likely doesn't care for the Jedi philosophy as a whole, and simply wants to keep the galaxy safe and secure would make the Jedi Civil War all the more interesting.
But what Jedi did ankin solo kill because a mind like thrawn Wud know that they want to kill him so he will ask luke to have Jedi to protect him
I agree with you finaldarkfire, killing off Thrawn at the end was rather blunt and wasteful. Perhaps Eck has a way to bring Thrawn back! At least let him die with honor or in some grand sacrifice...
Seeing Thrawn lead the combined forces of the New Republic, Empire, and Empire of the Hand is my dream

Holy shit, why didn't I think of that? That means that the lost tribe of the sith would never Ally themselves with Luke and Ben, since it would be too early for the sith to be visited by ship. Wait would even that happen? I mean if the yuzahn vong war was only a year and Anakin was still alive, would that mean Jacen isn't captured and falls to the dark side of the force? It's why Thrawn overlooked the missing spy droid he and Pellaeon planted to spy on the suspicious Noghri. The clone has no recollection of the missing modified deacon droid as it was in its final stage of incubation. A detail like this would have not been overlooked by Thrawn.
It's this effort of the switch and bait that washes his hands clean from the Empire that is dying so that he and the Chiss may diplomatically bring the New Republic in as it's ally against the darkening maw of the outter regions.
The Chiss now have access to cloaking shields based on imperial tech, tie defenders, death star weapon schematics, planetary shielding tech, force bubble blocking Islamari and most importantly cloning technology.

Thrawn is my number 2 of all time lmao, second only to Revan, and actually not by much either.
I think that post-Vong War, Thrawn would have allied with Luke's faction (as they are a force for stability) against Jaycen's faction. Thrawn would have forseen the coming Jedi Civil War and used the cloning cylinders from Mount Tantiss to mass produce Ysalamiri and harness backpacks to outfit dozens of squads of anti-Jedi specialized troops. Jaycen is killed and many of his followers are inprisoned on Coriband.
I wonder if Thrawn would've been pragmatic enough to realize that leaving a bunch of angry Force users alone on a planet to stew and rage and build back up is a bad idea, and just finished them off then and there. I suppose it depends on how much he knows about the distant past of the Star Wars galaxy. While I disagree with the Jedi genocide of the Sith _race,_ that's because on top of being extremely immoral, it basically _caused_ the endless cycle of war between Light and Dark Force users which continued right into the Legacy era. The actual Sith _cult,_ post-genocide, needed to be completely wiped out to ensure galactic stability, but things never quite played out that way.
TL;DR thrawn is kinda overpowered and does not fully work as a "good guy" character
Presumably Mount Tantiss still would have been destroyed by the strike team since the only significant change is Thrawn surviving Bilbringi.

Something you got wrong about the Battle of Bilbringi was your statement that Admiral Ackbar would have died. Because of the politics going on in the New Republic military, Thrawn and Palleon intended for his ship to be one of the ones that survived, as to disgrace him and further suggest that he was working with the Empire.
No I think ackbar would have died but wedge and corran horn would have survived
While I like Star Wars Rebels, this here highlights something that they missed. Thrawn isn't just a smart bad guy. He's also fair and likable.
I know you'll get to this in the finale of the Vong sub-series. Won't stop me from going through the motions though.
Anyways: Can you breakdown what is by far the largest space battle in the entire franchise? *The* *Battle* *of* *Yuuzhan'tar!* I have made this request: one-hundred-ten times.
To be fair, Thrawn did murder a guy in front of everybody in Legends. His troops probably didn't find him likable and fair then.
@@wolfgod6443 Still, look at how his own men thought of him near the end of his reign.
"Yesterday, the Chimaera's crew had trusted and respected the Grand Admiral. After today, they would be ready to die for him."
@@MrDrProfessor4 True, but the last guy they pledged their allegiance to was Palpatine, who is basically Star Wars Satan + Hitler. This still makes Thrawn the "Heir to the Empire", but again, that title is attributed to evil incarnate.
Thrawn was perfectly okay with keeping Honoghr poisoned so he could keep his Noghri-killer-commandos. He's maybe a bit more cunning than Vader or Tarkin, but just as evil.
I don't think thrawn would carve out his own empire, I believe he would pass it down to Pellaeon and would simple go home once the Yuuzhan Vong have been dealt with. His people were fair isolationists that did not want to get involve or have interest in outside affairs unless it threatens their very existence, this is shown when Thrawn asked if the Death Star was going to be used against the Chiss. Palpatine probably knows this about his people, which is probably why we don't see many other chiss.
Again they're isolationists not conquerors.
No thrawn wants what”s best for the galaxy, which can only be achieved by him. I see your point though and he would be like 90 when he died

@@jasonevildreamshawcross5167 true
I would choose a ship like Slave 1...then take an X wing and B wing and combine them all...I would lose the foil movement of the slave 1 but I would gain speed with the 4 added engines, also the mini turbolasers and 4 more blasters with an array of missile and torpedo launchers as well as a light ion Cannon and a twin blaster overhead. I would expand the fuel tank down the spline and remove the sensors to place them in the cockpit area. This would remove the space in the cockpit but my sensors would all be linked into my helmet display. I would lose 1/3rd cargo space but if I modularize my space I can still haul the same stuff with little limitation...
Remember the firespray was just a light system interceptor.
Lastly armor wise I would remove most of the armor and favor a heavier shield generator and a particle shield stabilizer to triple my particle shield power and use it to back up my deflector shields. This reduces weight and increases my atmospheric handling.
I would also toy with the idea of using a pirate fighters wings as mandibles for maneuvering larger freight...would be easy to install a tractor beams and magnetic cargo locks externally. This also allows me 2 more blasters, an expanded power generation ability and allows further modularization. The more flexibility I have the more dangerous I am.
This ship would be relatively cheap because all the parts can be scrounged and bought from junk dealers and it would be powerful enough to handle a small cruiser and possibly disable a Victory sized capital ship
I have to say it. I really do dislike how Thrawn died in legends. I mean he is known to collect Information such as art, culture and stuff before doing a attack or such. But having your bodyguard beeing someone of a species the Empire poisoned, without you, the guy who would 100% look into the guys background, noticing that is absurd imo. Pls correct me if im wrong.
I think this is a problem when you make characters so smart, their deaths always look weak and it is hard to kill them off in a good way.

In the EU? Thrawn would have united and ruled the entire galaxy no doubt.
In cannon? Same result.
It's not even a question, he would rule everything.
Hence the title "Heir to the Empire". He's the only other being besides Sidious whom the Empire would've accepted as Emperor (besides maybe Vader or Tarkin, but I'm hesitant on them).
@Paradoxical Nightmare Well with the jedi destroyed by the original trilogy Vader would've taken his mind somewhere else. Tarkin made mistakes but his actions echoed that of Palpatine's in many areas. The Death Star was Palpatine's dream long before the Empire. Not exactly great leaders but acceptable ones by the Empire's standards. The real problem isn't the characters though, it's how the rest would react. Tarkin has authority, but enough to bring the Empire together after the Empire? As for Vader, many would turn coat or only serve him out of fear. Vader has the capacity to rule but not well enough, he'd turn it into an even more militaristic society than it already is.
Thrawn is such an interesting character. Incredibly effective, and often the worst you can say is he can be more amoral and goal-oriented than immoral.
no mention of the lack of influence Palpatine could have had on Thrawn's troops still carrying Ysalamiri? Because there's no way Thrawn would have stopped using Ysalamiri as long as there were force users to be neutralised
Maybe we'll find out what happened to Thrawn and Ezra in the future

So basically, if Thrawn survives the story gets a lot more interesting? Figures
I like to think that, in this timeline, Thrawn is seen as somewhat controversial, but mostly remembered as a hero who fought to heal and protect the galaxy.
I have to disagree on some points, as I've put some thought into this scenario.
Bilbringi - The Shipyards become 'excess capacity' in the wake of the destruction of Mount Tantiss. Thrawn puts a cordon around the Rebel Fleet trapping them in the shipyards, however a small number of the Rebels (Including Ackbar on Home One) and Karrde's smugglers escape with the CGT array. The Bilbringi Shipyards are heavily damaged, but without clones from Mount Tantiss, Thrawn no longer can crew the ships that the shipyard was building. Thrawn's advance into New Republic space is stalled however with the loss of Mount Tantiss. He has to pause his offensive operations and husband his troops as he no longer can as easily replace them. The Spaarti Clones were ready for combat in 2-3 weeks, but the conscripts he must now rely on need only 6 weeks just for basic training.
Instead Thrawn elects to put a temporary cease-fire into effect. Instead of a military offensive he launches a diplomatic offensive, coaxing planets to shift their allegiance. During the cease-fire he rebuilds his forces, trains conscripts, and puts some of his various contingency plans into effect. At the same time he has to beg the various other Imperial Warlords for troops, as Thrawn only holds a tiny portion of the Imperial Navy's forces (roughly the size of an augmented sector group plus the dreadnoughts of the Katana Fleet). Most are in the hands of Warlords and the fleet gathering in Byss.
The Noghri are forced from Honoghr for their betrayal.
I really like how you ended with the Jedi Civil War. Great writing my man and I look forward to hearing how that would unfold.
I agree with this video, minus the Assassination of Thrawn by the Jedi. I personally believe that after the Vong War: that Thrawn would apologize for the way that he used Jedi Tech aggressively, and the Galactic Federation would make peace throughout the Galaxy for eternity... until the First Order shows up
This would be an amazing new, AU Trilogy.
Bold of you to assume thrawn doesent have the tactical knowledge to cheat death
What if count Dooku killed Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi on the invisible hand then killed Palpatine How would this affect Star Wars galaxy #ask eck
So basically Thrawn gets assassinated or Thrawn gets assassinated later
wow! awesome predications I would love to see this alternate universe where thrawn leads the galaxy against the yuuzhan vong. Hope to hear part 2 of your sci-fi fantasy ;)
Tell the tractor beam operator that Thrawn was fair and not like Vader.
Spartans vs N7 or Pilots (Titanfall) and UNSC Marines vs System Alliance Marines
So like, it would have been better if Thrawn had won. I never quite liked the whole Reborn Emperor storyline TBH.
"And Thrawn assumes direct control-"
ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL
I'm curious what people think about the hypothesis that Palpatine foresaw the coming of the Vong and one of the reasons he built the death star was to deal with them more so than as a deterrent to keep systems in line.
Please make a part two. Love to see what you come up with.
Or it could be another nogeri pretending to be Rukh, possibly Rukh's brother who came to avenge his brother and given the fact Rukh died on Lothal in 1 BBY. And their people who had been manipulated by the Empire.
I am glad to see your channel grow. It's like seeing a child going to the next stage in life.
The bit about him joining the NR against the second coming of Palpatine is weird. I think the only reason he'd turn on his old master would be the taste of power after having ruled the galaxy himself, so it wouldn't make sense for him to relinquish that power either to the NR high command after dealing with Palpatine. He'd just double cross Mothma and the rest like the devious blue devil he is.
If Thrawn and Revan fought, they'd de-populate the entire galaxy before spending 4 years in a 1v1 duel, then kill each other at the same time.
Disagree. Revan was always referred to as a clever strategist, but Thrawn is on another level even amongst his own. Plus, Revan didn't earn the nickname "the Butcher" for nothing. If they fought with equal resources, e. g. Ships and troops, I'd give it to Thrawn. 1v1 fight, Revan, if Thrawn doesn't bring Ysalamiri.
@@thelegolistme3250 Pretty sure Revan would win even if Thrawn did bring Ysalamiri. Thrawn isnt a one on one combatant and Revan isnt entirely reliant on his force powers, probably being experienced with blasters as well (given thats the most likely weapon to use early on in KOTOR)
But yeah with a fleet Thrawn wins no matter what. The writers make all of his strategies 100% effective no matter what they are.
Please contiune this story. I'm considering making some animations or cinematics for it, and I want to know what happens next.
Replicators vs a Unified Star Wars universe (378th try now, *_I._** WILL NEEEEVER EEEVER GIVE UP!!!)*
Replicate my ass,noob.
Wait, is Thrawn, Nepoleon in starwars?
I think he would speaj about the yuzahn vong publically to gain more support for his high military
I disagree, I feel like the chaos that could ensue from knowing an extragalactic threat was coming would outway what support he would get from the public, especially because he probably wouldn't need much support. But I guess we'll never know.
Grand Admiral Thrawn in charge of the New Republic forces and training all the New Republic admirals and generals for the next 2 years. (hope he makes his return after Return of the Jedi).
The force is strong with Dave Filoni. He can retcon and sweep away the abberation of JJ Abrams and Rian Johnson and overwrite all that with great Star Wars series continuing after the Mandolorian and with Asokha, Luke a new Jedi order and a Second Republic.
Now we need a follow up about what if Thrawn survived Anakin Solo's assassination.
So the Galactic Federation of free Alliance pops up a lot earlier and is actually a stable government if thrawn was alive. I wonder if they would use the symbol of the galactic Alliance. I think the symbol looks cool.
Had Thrawn not been betrayed by Rukh...The Empire would have defeated the smugglers and the Rebels at Imperial Shipyard. He would have eventually found a way to capture Mara Jade, and possibly convince her to be HIS own personal assassin. He would have launched a full scale invasion on Coruscant. He could have Han Solo, Lando and Chewie all killed. Luke and Leia would have been his biggest threat, but he would have found a way to target Leia’s twins and use them against them. Or have them all killed off to rid the galaxy of the Jedi entirely. He would have become the ruler of the Galaxy. He would rule it for a very long time. He would rule it with efficiency, strength, logic and reasoning. With the Jedi and Sith being extinct, he eventually would have achieved peace and prosperity throughout the galaxy.
this video makes Thrawn sound like a saint
You were doing so well right up until the 10:00 mark and then I think you lost the plot in regards to the kind of government Thrawn would've setup. If Thrawn chose to support the Empire (a very in-democratic government) because he saw it as the best means of defending against the Vong, why the Hell would he reinstate the Senate? Palpatine got rid of the Republic because a large scale democratic government is unable to maintain unilateral cohesion on such a vast scale with all the various competing political interests creating the usual quagmire making it impossible to get anything done. In all likelihood the Democratic institutions of the Republic would have been kept for show and would've lacked any real authority.
If anything he would've maintained a powerful central authority, but would've allowed small scale 'local' democracies to determine how best to implement Imperial policies and edicts.
If 1 y wing slamming into the deck of a SUPER STAR DESTROYER took it down and one y wing pilot killed hundreds of thousands of imperial troops then why didn't the rebels use kamikazi attacks against the empire?
I always felt that the nhogri angle was very flawed. Princess Leia played a very dangerous game using her position as the daughter of Vader . Even the Nhogri going so far as to call her Lady Vader in a flattering sort of way. Using evidence she shows the empire polluting the planet and keeping it that way to keep the Nhogri subserviant , but she is connected through Vader and thus the Empire . Now after killing Thrawn the Nhogri then kill Princess Leia, because of her connection to Vader that she exploited. Now THAT is a suprise ending. Realistically though , it makes way more sense for the Nhogri to simply leave both sides and vanish.
Vex (destiny) vs Necrons (wh40k) attempt 2
Necrons curbstomb vex
JHONNO il meme perduto How so?
Vex have control over reality.
@@greaterhalo0659 same with the necrons
But would Anakin be okay with the idea to assassinate Thrawn to begin with? Would he have join Kyp's faction? I mean maybe, I could have seen Jaina joining over too.
Benevolent Autocracy is the best stateform. It has a high payout but also high risk. You need really special people to make it work. But after that one special person dies? Who is gonna take over? You are not gonna have the same kind of person, and then shit turns bad very fast. Kinda like the lottery, you not gonna win 2 times in series.
After that, it is democracy. Less payout, but also less risk.
I disagree, it's a limited system, when the Autocracy falls then it's likely that there will either be civil strife, or a civil war that will lead to another dictator which as you said doesn't happen.
But there is another issue, when you look at monarchies and dictatorial governments you start to see that almost all internal reforms happen it the early years of a reign, and then the government almost always looks outward. The issue is is that once a dictator has solved the problems they wish to focus on, other problems start to grow with no real response, a disconnect is formed from the reality of a situation and a government. In a democracy, even a corrupt one, politicians are always tied to their votes. Therefore they have to address all issues, and reform continues consistently if more gradually (as the other party limits the scale of reforms) helping prevent stagnation or collapse during a period. It's no coincidence that democratic governments have historically been richer and better quality nations than those purely autocratically based.
But please I'd love to hear more of your reasoning, I'm very interested in why you think this
Who says he didn't survive? Emperor Palpatine survived. Also Thrawn trilogy isn't cannon canon anymore right?
