EckhartsLadder I got a new idea for these videos. "How would the SCP Foundation handle..." Basically the Foundation is gonna try to contain/destroy something from Sci Fi that crashed on earth before it starts getting out of hand.
Were this a versus series, your argument against the Malevolence would be entirely justified. However, this is *not* a versus series, so it’s not. The Malevolence did what it needed to. It could take out any ship the Republic threw at it, and it could take them out entirely. It didn’t *need* a superlaser. It didn’t *need* super powerful weapons systems. Why waste resources on what was basically a mobile capital city when they didn’t need to? Also, I’d prefer going back to the old factions, the Republic, Separatists, Rebels, and Empire.
I agree with his choice of the New Republic replacing the Rebels, however, the FO was entirely unjustified. He could have used the Mandator 1 or 2 instead.
All these Flagships are a true waste of men and material. If the men and materials that were used to build the Supremacy or Eclipse were used to make Star Destroyers the Rebellion and the Resistance never would’ve stood a chance.
Hondo's pirates' fleet is a joke. there was barely a functioning battleship sized ship, additionally to not that well armed old ships. The black sun comes after, their greatest asset is that had hundreds of ships at their disposal. The Hutts are next in the scale of power not only did they have supremacy over the underworld for thousands of year, they also hold the control of handful planets as usual their main fleet is made of old dreadnoughts, kossak class ships and several types of corellian ships but their biggest asset they have is their mercenary fleets, they could hire the deadliest bounty hunters to backup their fleets in case of battle. Then the most powerful fleet among them all, the zann consortium's it is made of all types of ships from old ships that they could obtain from the black market or salvage to the highest end imperial prototypes including tie defenders and the really big gun (If you know what I mean ;) ) passing through starvipers and mandalorian ships. They have the most diverse fleet and more importantly the most powerful ships of all the criminal groups previously mentioned.
I agree with your rankings but I think you don't give the Malevolence as much credit as it deserves. When you watch the Star Wars the Clone Wars show you can tell this ship is not lacking in firepower you lay say it is. It's bristling with guns everywhere. You even posted a clip where the Y-wing squadron was moving in close to the hull of the ship and just one of the sides of one of the gun platforms spares no room for anything but the 20-30 guns it has. And it has even more and larger flat areas where the same is left for the guns. I don't see why they would bother putting an Ion cannon on this ship if they couldn't quickly destroy their enemy before they can get systems back online, and ships are torn to shreds by this thing. Also, the Malevolence is depicted as being very maneuverable in the Clone Wars show. Once they detected Anakin's spacecraft in the debris field, that thing swung around in seconds, which is insane for such a large craft. And while it's Ion cannon might not be as effective as it was against the 3 Venator classes (even though it disabled all 3 of them in a single shot), it would at the very least disable large portions of enemy ships. If it went up against the Eclipse and it hit the right spot, it could potentially render the Eclipse's pintal mounted laser useless. Also, the durability of the Malevolence is quite high. Even after it's ion cannon exploding, the ship was still functioning (though with severe damage). It would have been able to escape the republic ships chasing it if Anakin had not reprogrammed the Hyperdrive to smash it into a moon.
Makes me wonder why the separatists stopped with one. If they built one, they had the infrastructure already to build another. They also have lots of large ships like the larger providence class and the lucrehulk class, and even their supply ships are massive compared to republic freighters. I mean, yeah as a single unit it would be expensive, but compared to the rest of the fleet, it is just a slightly larger drop in the pond.
actually there are atleast 3 of those ships, the Malevolence, the Malevolence II (surprise surprise it gets destroyed too) and an unidentified ship that was built by Enoth System Shipyards
goddamnit theres actually 4, but the first one that was called, wait for it, the Subjagator, wasnt armed with an ion cannon, instead it was Trihexalon launcer, and so the republic didnt expect the malevolence coming with its secret weapon
Which Star Wars Faction has the BEST SPECIAL FORCES?(droid commandos, republic commandos, inferno squad etc., could include multiple special forces from each faction)
I would argue there’s no evidence that the Malevolence’s Ion cannon would work significantly less on larger ships. I’d imagine it would still knock out everything it hits on a larger ship, having a knock on effect. For example, it could knock out power generation, or a huge chunk of weapons etc.
The ion cannon on the Malevolence would do little to no damage at all to the shields of the Eclipse, and the same can be said for the Viscount and Executor.
@@UI_Shaggy05The thing about malevolence is that its main weapon can disable shields and not by destroying them but just by taking power from whole ship (shields can do nothing to that) if you don't believe me watch the scene where the malevolence fought 3 venators there it is said that their shields were disabled
@GeneralGrievous_CIS I realize that, but do you even realize how much more massive those other ships I just mentioned are? Not to mention their sheilds can literally deflect star destroyers ramming them at lightspeed.
The best ship ever produced in the Stars Wars Universe was obviously the light speed runner. These tiny ships could take out Star Destroyers, Dreadnoughts, Death Stars, Planets, and anything in a 4 parsec radius simply by just ramming through them at light speed. Easy, cheap, and impenetrable these ships simply ruled the galaxy with an iron fist....
The _Suncrusher_ was all that _and_ it was reusable. Also, you blow up stars with it. But I suppose comparing the _Suncrusher_ to anything else isn't that fun as nothing else comes close. I do get your point though, that was the most disappointing part of the movie for me.
The Malevolence's cannon is meant to surround the enemy ships in a field that shuts down all electronic systems. Ships as large as the Eclipse or Supremacy would not be fully affected.
I'm glad you hold Mon Calamari ships in such high regards. It gives me validation for my strategy when I play Empire At War as the Rebel Alliance. I always try to include at least two Mon Calamari Star Cruisers in each fleet that I build for them (three if Admiral Ackbar's Home One is part of a fleet).
11:20 It is also worthy of note that any friendly ships - capital or otherwise - would have to stay out of the firing arc of the ion cannon for best results. This would leave the Subjugator quite exposed.
The forerunners created the halo rings isn’t that enough information to settle the debate a series of weapons to destroy all life in an attempt to stop the flood. And they also created the Prometheans in a final attempt to stop the flood before the halo rings were fired. The prometheans were made from humans consumed by the composer. Then turned into war machines even the Master Chief had trouble fighting and killing.
inferno is noting compared to comandos and ark troopers i mean they dont even fight for their faction in hard times they just leave like a bunch of pussys
I have to say the Supremacy is my favorite. Not because oh it’s a big star destroyer, but because it puts a new take on the star destroyer with the MSD it’s basically a moving shipyard, seat of power, and as awe inspiring as the Death Star in rogue one
...And then some dumbass had to go and call it a "Mega-class". Seriously, it's (presumably) the first of its kind, just name the blasted thing after the lead ship - Supremacy class Star Dreadnought. Boom, done.
I feel like you often underestimate the power of the malevolence. We see on 2 separate occasions that smaller ion weapons can take out much much larger ships. Ion bombs in rogue one and the ion cannon in Empire strikes back both disable an Empiral star destroyer completely and relatively easily. I feel we can assume that the Ion cannon on the malevolence is several times more power then those 2 examples.
If I have to rank them by logic, the eclipse is absolutely top in design. Even if I totally love the Mon Calar style and the Raddus is one of my favorite ships in all of Star Wars. I hated to see it destroyed in the last Jedi so quickly without getting to see its fighting abilities. But loved the portrayal of the iconic Mon Calar shielding. I totally agree with your ranking.
Could the Subjugator even operate in a fleet? That ion cannon seems rather unwieldy, and I'd be concerned about blasting my own ships as much as the enemy's
The ion cannon only fires in a certain direction. If a proper commander is running the fleet, it would be very easy to warn and command the fleet away from the ion blast.
As a flagship, having your most powerful weapon on your broadsides is a disadvantage compared to having a nose mounted weapon. It means that to utilize it you will need to face your broadside to the enemy which isn't very tactically sound. Mounting it on a destroyer's or a corvette's broadside would be far more effective as they are mobile and can flank enemies
LFCATFE if a weapon like that was mounted to a destroyer or frigate, the best it could take out is a few fighters, it wouldn't have the power. And having it on the broadside would be better in this case because if it worked in a fleet situation, the other vessels would protect it and it could make a quicker getaway if needed if it was pointed away from the other vessels/debris in its fleet. It may also just go back to naval warfare on earth where the broadside gave more firepower as more cannons were brought to bear than just the few that could fire forward
I think that if your fleet is generally faster/ more agile than your enemy's and you have the proper ships for it, you could do a very effective broadside on them. As you circle around to their side, they would have to fully re-position or be caught in a line if they only turn in place. So you would either constantly force them out of position or they would be stuck in their own line of fire. Granted, im sure a good commander would be able to prevent this from being too effective.
As a flagship I'd prefer the Mega-class for reasons that could be considered spoilers but also because the production facilities. I played Homeworld so having a flagship that can build its own fleet on the fly is not something to be underestimated.
How would you feel about doing a video where two wars battle? What I mean is, all the factions in a given war unite to fight all the factions of another war? Examples include; The Old Republic and Sith Empire vs the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire or The GAR and CIS vs the New Republic/Resistance and the First Order I feel like a battle of that type would be pretty interesting, and could also be an experiment to draw in viewers/subscribers. This is just off the top of my head and I have no idea what to think about it otherwise, so I guess, like if you agree? Anyway, just an idea.
Funny thing... I once folded this paper star ship from an origami book many years ago that looked like a star destroyer, but had extra wingspan/fins that stuck out on the left and right sides that gave it a wider wedge shape, and I had even told my brother after I folded it, "you know what would be cool, if this was an star destroyer design" and many years later when episode 8 came out and the supremacy looked a lot like it, it blew my mind
Home one was 2km long and raddus was only 3km. Neither are considered "star dreadnoughts" which have a minimum requirement of 10km+. Although the malevolence was only 5km itself...
@@shauryapallav5674 check YOUR facts, the original Home One type was 2.5KM long in 1983 when Return of the Jedi came out. The accompanied art book that u could get put it at 2.5KM. It is only later on where one obscure source said home one was 1.3km long, when it is clearly longer than 2 ISDs put together in the movie. The general consensus of the Star Wars community and anyone who knows the actual ships and books is the 2.5km figure, Eckarts and Corey even reference it in one of their videos. Additionally, Empire at War has the home one about 3km long, which was an official canon/now legends game. Corey has updated its model in Thrawns Revenge.
In a fight I think this is how it would go: Malevolence deactivates and destroys the vicount then the eclipse super lasers the malevolence then holding off the supremecy with its extremely strong weapons and the eclipse fighters win from the sheer amount of them ( the Vicount didn’t get to launch fighter because it and its fighters were deactivated and those Tie interceptors and other Ties are better than vulture droids and the FO fighters would be better but they have no whispers or anything other then special forces Ties and normal FO Ties and the Eclipse’s main weapon would recharge and destroy the Surpremecy)
LOL dude! 😂😂😂 If you actually believe this, I can't take you seriously! The Malevolence is absolutely no match at all for the Viscount or Eclipse! The ion cannon would be completely useless against the shields on these other much more massive capital ships!
@@The4Experience In the same time frame in Legends (about 30 or so years After the Battle of Yavin) The New Republic dealt with threats the same way they did in canon. By shoving their entire body up their ass.
Depends on the task, in a open space battle where they know each other's capabilities it would be between the Eclipse and the Malevolence. If the Malevolence is able to properly deploy its emp it stomps every other ship, as once they lose power they are just an enormous target with no shields or defensive firepower.
I think the Malevolence would still lose to all of them. If against the Eclipse they start at a long range, the Eclipse would simply oneshot it with the super laser. I they come out right on top of each other and a brawl/broadside fight ensues, then the Eclipse or any of the other ships will with their absolutely overwelming firepower, deplete the Malevolence's shields and likely destroy the ion cannon before it fires. If the ion cannon is fired in time and at close range its radios might not grow large enough to disable enough of the other ships, the Eclipse and the Viscount would easily be able to destroy the malevolence with even 1/4 of their firepower. And the Supremasy, well the Malevolence simply wont be able to disable it completely no matter what, it's just that big and the it will be able to reliably beat the Malevolence with like 1/10 firepower. And lets not forget fighter power, if the dreadnoughts deploy their fighters which vastly outnumber the Malevolence's, even if the main ship gets disabled the fighters will do short work of the Malevolence.
Now let me say this: I know full well Star Wars doesn’t really care about proper naval vessel classifications. But the Subjugator class is hampered, in my opinion, via two words: Heavy Cruiser. It isn’t supposed to be a flagship, instead meant get into combat with supporting ships. Had it been escorted by a proper fleet, I am sure the Subjugator would be perfect against republic fleets and maybe even Imperial fleets. But in essence I think the Subjugator should never be considered a flagship.
I feel like the Malevolence could've won one on one with the Eclipse and maybe Supremacy. You made a point that theu are both slow and have low maneuverability so it wouldn't be able to dodge the ion canons, the hull would be the only problem and the fact that we don't know how long the ion canon lasts. If it could last 1 or 2 hours then Malevolence would probably win. I don't know, maybe I like the ship too much because it looks cool but thats just my opinion.
Lord Tuskk that would be decided on who shoots first, if the eclipse shoots with it's laser goodbye mavolence and if mavolence shoots it's ion cannon goodbye eclispe, if we are taking the superweapons outta this then eclipse wins.
Malovelence wouldn't be able to fully disable the eclipse, and even if it did disable its shields, the malevolence doesn't have enough turbo lasers to take it down. The eclipse's armor is nigh impenetrable, and the eclipse is also 12 km larger than the malevolence.
I agree with your decisions. Especially with the placement of the Defender flagship. It's greater shields would allow it to last longer against anything less than the Eclipse-class super-laser, meaning that the admiral and other command-staff can remain in a fleet-to-fleet battle longer and have less probability of being destroyed by combined enemy focused-firepower, positions or fighters. Avoiding have the head of fleet and leadership cut-off and leaving their allies leaderless. At the same time, the higher amount of fighters that can be released form the ship would grant more flexibility, defensive screens, offensive attacks and strategic squad-deployments than the other ships. Outside of the simple but effective mindset of more people throw into the fight. Your remarks on the Subjugator-class cruisers, especially the Malevolence, are also very accurate. The ship itself, while still maneuverable in the various depictions, would not function well with a supportive-fleet from the magnitude of allied fighters that can be caught in its Ion-canon and vulnerability against bomber-runs. It could only be used as a long-distance attack option, and with nimble cruisers to avoid being caught in the cross-fire of such blasts. Also, Space combat is 3-dimensional, not 2-dimensional. The location of the bridge protruding from a long tower at the rear of the ship would be dangerously exposed to anyone attacking from above, or diagonally above and behind the ship. The Malevolence can only really serve in independent gorilla-style space raids against small fleets from a distance. Not high-scale operations like the Battle of Endor or the CIS assault on Corescant.
I feel the Malevolence is a better option for producing numerous heavy capital ships. These vessels though lacking in firepower compared to other vessels of similar size or others in this video does have a substantial level of firepower. Its Ion weapon though having issues can disable entire fleets of star destroyers and leave them defenseless making the vessels lesser amount of firepower negligible. It would never face any other vessel on this list and win, maybe in a 3 to 1 but again it would probably be cheaper and more versatile having 3 malevolence's than 1 executor.
Sure the malevolence could be used and produced as a standard battlecruiser, (It being only 5km) but as a star dreadnought and flagship, it falls flat. Which is the point of the video. The ships other ships discussed in the video are 17km+ and have overwhelmingly superior firepower shielding and carrying capacity.
viscount would win on a 3 on 1 beacause it uses a strategy. it uses it sheild against one then it lets out star fighters to deal with the other one ad then it takes the final one out
@@kanu3331 three of those giant ion cannon blasts the Subjugator-class can project and there is not going to be a shield on that viscount, mon calamari shielding or no. Subjugator's are basically hard counters against heavy shielding.
@eckhartsladder I think you're not thinking strategically enough with the malevolence, sure maybe it can't take out the eclipse or supremacy but it can take out ALL their support ships, leaving the cis fleet with all ships able to fire and the enemy ONLY with their flagship, which exposes all the flaws you brought up, it can singlehandedly turn a fleet battle into a fleet vs one flagship battle, quickly shot the unshielded ships and even if it can't fully cripple the flagship the malevolence can still interfere with it's systems and eliminate any fighters it has, letting it's fleet destroy the flagship by surrounding it and firing from all directions
Video Idea: Which Factions soldiers (ground troops) were best equipped? This also goes with what kind of gear would they be given for things such as deferent terrain or for battle, like would they be equipped for short battles or long, large scale battles...
i think the malevolance would be effective with a support fleet. using the ion cannon to disable ships and use the main guns to pick apart ships while being supported by a large group of vulture droids and hyena bombers
It might be just me but the ion cannon on the maleovelent(not spelled right) definitely makes it the best. I mean it could completely disable a republic star destroyer/venator class. That means it could probably disable most ship/battle stations. Just think about this... disabling the Death Star.
Hey, just saw you on Reddit (DeusVultSaracen) and decided to come check out your new video, love the versus videos, and I may have a Star Destroyer obsession.
I agree with the placement of the Supremacy-class MSD at #3 and the Subjugator-class heavy cruiser at #4. I'm split on the placements of the Eclipse-class SSD and the Viscount-class star defender though. It's really hard for me to place one above the other, but looking at them both purely in the role of a dedicated flagship within a fleet, I think I agree with the Eclipse being #1 and the Viscount being #2, because a flagship does have the support of other ships and it is meant to be the centerfold of a space fleet, not operating solo.
The CIS has the best ships by far, with the best troops, and the best commanders. If it had been real life and not the "good guy always wins" mentality, the Republic would have been destroyed. Especially since the Republic was actually the bad guys all along.
I don’t agree, mostly because Palpatine was playing them. Even with everything you mentioned a war is still going to be unwinnable if key intelligence is constantly being leaked, or non-optimal strategies are being used. Remember tat the CIS was built to lose. If Palpatine weren’t a factor I would agree with you completely, but he is.
The Subjugator-Class seems like it could a line of ships rather than being a fleet's flagship. The CIS by far has the most diverse fleet of ships so it wouldn't feel out of place. We saw its effectiveness in the Clone Wars, being able to freely level Venerators would have given the CIS a major leg up in engagements against the Republic.
All factions included in this video had some sort of Special Forces, the empire had Inferno Squad lead by Iden versio which that switched sides and became Rebel/New Republic Special forces. I do not have a exact name of a clone special forces, but the droids that invaded the place with the all good beacon up could be considered Special forces.
Super Weapons! Super Weapons! Super Weapons! What happened to practicality! Thats why I'm not a big fan of the new star wars movies. It's an over reliance on super weapons to drive the plot. Starkiller Base, Mandator 4, and supremacy make the story to darn predictable! Enemy shows off big super weapon/ship. Rebels run and hide. Gain a small advantage. And kablooey!!! The weapon blows up! Good job to the New Republic! Making ships that are actually practical and not just a firepower show🖒🖒🖒
The supremacy would beat the vicount simply because the supremacy is so large that it can take any amount of damage that the vicount could do and its fighters are nullified because the first orders Tie fighters are of far higher quality and can be produced on bord. Then once all the fighters or such a large amount of them have been taken out the supremacy can effectively just sit their and use its bombers to cripple the vicount. Then once the new republic choose to leave we end up with the situation in the movie. So the only way the vicount could defeat the supremacy would be to do what was done in the movie which at best distroys the supremacy or only cripples it.
First of all the Supremacy needs raw materials to construct vehicles. Secondly, if it could just sit back and use bombers to take down an enemy ship, it would've done so in the movie. It didn't, and that wasn't even a dreadnought it was up against.
Andy Jacobs true but in the movie we can see what looks to be construction being done, that and the reason they didn't do this in the movie is one plot armour and two they wouldn't be able to provide coverage for the bomber's as we sour when Ren had to break of his attack.
@@connorgolden4 exactly. Just look at hoth defense ion cannon vs the isd. It is tiny by comparison but crippled the ship. Or how about the experimental b wing vs the imperial light cruiser in rebels that one taps it. Judge me by my size do you?
The thing that makes the star defender unique is that while all of the other flagships have something super special about them, like the malevolence’s ion canon or the sheer size of the mega star destroyer, the star defender doesn’t need any of that. The mon cal cruisers are already amazing, and the star defender is just that, but everything is even better.
I generally agree but, there is an advantage to CIS over the first order in this instance. The CIS ship can stand alone if needed, allowing it's fleet to flank and encircle the enemy, splitting the fire. And I agree that up to a point the ion canon wouldn't disable another capital ship, it would short out or disable systems on the surface of the ship and any system that wasn't hardened against it. Meaning that some at least if not all turbo lasers would be disabled. We have seen turbo lasers disable by ion canons in canon and legends before.
Often times I get stuck between my flagship being strong and manueverable, or slow and overall powerful, but as a flagship, I look for a ship that will have some flaws that will make the ship not be produced above 2 ships so I can know that with proper maintenance, tactics, and support, it can fulfill it's role as a flagship. Like in the Battle over Coruscant, Grievous's flagship, The Invisible Hand, was not targeted too much, because the supporting warships were there to effectively duke it out with the Venators. Like capture the flag, a flagship should be defended as it may hold EXTREMELY valuable individuals onboard, and will cost ALOT of money to build.
Two criticisms regarding the Malevolence, firstly that ion cannon's blast expands rapidly as it travels, the cannon itself is not larger than three venators but when fired on Plo Koon the blast swallowed all three of his ships that he brought, which opened them up for the second criticism I have what is the 500 turbolaser batteries, which are positioned in such a way that I can be just as effective in a broadside as it is firing forward. The Malevolence can potentially bring down any ship on the list just depending on where it fires its main weapons from.
I think the malevolence is the most powerful ship in Star Wars but only if it uses the thrawn catapult… if it does that behind the supremacy it can knock out its engines so it can’t turn and the supremacy doesn’t have turbo lasers behind it

The ion cannon on the Malevolence would do little to no damage at all to the shields of the Eclipse, and the same can be said for the Viscount and Executor.
Why@@UI_Shaggy05
@@UI_Shaggy05The thing about malevolence is that its main weapon can disable shields and not by destroying them but just by taking power from whole ship (shields can do nothing to that) if you don't believe me watch the scene where the malevolence fought 3 venators there it is said that their shields were disabled
So if they managed to shoot then they would be fighting ships with no offensive or defensive capabilities
@GeneralGrievous_CIS I realize that, but do you even realize how much more massive those other ships I just mentioned are? Not to mention their sheilds can literally deflect star destroyers ramming them at lightspeed.
they all suck, you can destroy all of them by simply ramming at lightspeed into them...
Interdictors :What ramming?
Ufukcan Gencoglu lmao.
The eclipse had interdiction capability’s
So holdo’s even more useless against the eclipse
@@rainbowappleslice yes plus it would destroy the raddus with a super laser
No the best ship is the sky speeder from last jedi(jk)
My favorite will be eclipse.
not canon
Darth Vader yup, there is really no replacement for a massive battle titan
I kind of like snoke’s ship
i prefer the executor, bellator or subjucator
I agree
Actually, technically the Viscount does have a key feature. It’s the shielding, you know, being an MC ship
true. also he didn't mention any flaws with the viscount like he did for the 3 others. VISCOUNT IS A GOOD BABY
The Viscount truly is the greatest capital ship in my opinion!
Long live to the CIS and his Munifecent clas.
"Long live the Separatist cause."
Yes
The Malevolence's cannon is meant to surround the enemy ships in a field that shuts down all electronic systems. Ships as large as the Eclipse or Supremacy would not be fully affected.
I'd love to see a better ion cannon ship like the malevolence
Clas(a) class
I'm glad you hold Mon Calamari ships in such high regards. It gives me validation for my strategy when I play Empire At War as the Rebel Alliance. I always try to include at least two Mon Calamari Star Cruisers in each fleet that I build for them (three if Admiral Ackbar's Home One is part of a fleet).
How about Pride of the core (mandator 1) for Republic?
It was good for its era but compared to imperial, new republic and especially first order ships it's outclassed
thanks for doing my idea m8

It is also worthy of note that any friendly ships - capital or otherwise - would have to stay out of the firing arc of the ion cannon for best results. This would leave the Subjugator quite exposed.
The Forerunners (Halo) vs The Ancients (Stargate)
Part of me wants to say Forerunners, because they seem more technologically advanced, and also because the Ancients always seemed to lose their wars.
Cumorah Whittaker
They made the Tauri (Earth) clean up their mess for them.
Yeah I’d say forerunner cuz the ancients aren’t warriors which is why they lost against the wraith they aren’t tactically apt
I doubt the Forerunner Fortress could defeat a fully powered Atlantean cityship.
Elite squads for each faction which one is best
Please yes!!!
Inferno squad
inferno is noting compared to comandos and ark troopers i mean they dont even fight for their faction in hard times they just leave like a bunch of pussys
Peißen Jan Oliver in hard times they do the right fucking thing you moron
I said this in the Discord once!
What about the republics Mandator class, that was a very large ship(about 6km) would it not class as a dreadnought?
Anything over 5 kilometers
It was indeed a dread naught but I think eckarts need more intel on the ship we don't know much about the mandator
Sam dale Pffttttttttt. 6kms ain shiettt boiiii
Correction: 8 km
Also for the malevolence. Firing the ion cannon will definitely hit other ships. And if it isn’t covered by ships in defense the cannon is exposed
My favorite would be the supremacy of the first order, I thought it take the second place or first, yet I've seen the movie and it impressed me.
You should make a video of your perfect fleet using any faction's ships. You can determine the purpose of that fleet.
That was fast haha
Nobody:
Supremacy: I have the ability to shoot warped turbolasers
9:58 The Viscount is such a phenomenal, well-rounded ship... I see what you did there
Could the Subjugator even operate in a fleet?
Earth doesn't exist in star wars....
The Malevolence Arc was basically the Hunt for the Bismarck, only destroyed because of a flaw and lack of support, like the Bismarck.
What about the Republic’s Mandator II
Isn't that The Pride of The Core?
Harrison DS pride of the core is a mandator I
Lugar Fan I see... Thanks for the correction.
As a flagship I'd prefer the Mega-class for reasons that could be considered spoilers but also because the production facilities. I played Homeworld so having a flagship that can build its own fleet on the fly is not something to be underestimated.
How would you feel about doing a video where two wars battle? What I mean is, all the factions in a given war unite to fight all the factions of another war? Examples include;
The Old Republic and Sith Empire vs the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire
or
The GAR and CIS vs the New Republic/Resistance and the First Order
I feel like a battle of that type would be pretty interesting, and could also be an experiment to draw in viewers/subscribers. This is just off the top of my head and I have no idea what to think about it otherwise, so I guess, like if you agree? Anyway, just an idea.
Rebels and Empire would get destroyed by both choices as each is designed for war. the CIS/Republic vs Old Republic ear could be interesting
Hes already made the Old Republic + CIS vs Empire + Rebellion, you can find it if you search it
Zander Bagley he means the old old republic. From like 4 to 3,000 years ago
steel58836 ah ok
Funny thing... I once folded this paper star ship from an origami book many years ago that looked like a star destroyer, but had extra wingspan/fins that stuck out on the left and right sides that gave it a wider wedge shape, and I had even told my brother after I folded it, "you know what would be cool, if this was an star destroyer design" and many years later when episode 8 came out and the supremacy looked a lot like it, it blew my mind
But what about the Raddus and Home One?
Toxic UA-cam true, in comparison to the others, they don’t really hold a candle.
Home one was 2km long and raddus was only 3km. Neither are considered "star dreadnoughts" which have a minimum requirement of 10km+. Although the malevolence was only 5km itself...
@@nicholaswong6737 Home one was 1.3 km check your facts.
@@nicholaswong6737 oh I didn't knew that thankyou.
You really don't like the viscount, don't you?
LOL dude! 😂😂😂 If you actually believe this, I can't take you seriously! The Malevolence is absolutely no match at all for the Viscount or Eclipse! The ion cannon would be completely useless against the shields on these other much more massive capital ships!
Thunderbolt starfury from Babylon 5 vs the Sabre from Halo Reach. Oh and earth alliance from Babylon 5 vs the unsc from Halo.
Barry Bend Babylon 5 sucks ass star trak iz bettear

I'd think Babylon 5 has the edge in a naval war, though I'd like to see ground troops from the Earth Alliance vs a Spartan.

I am convinced _The Supremacy_ was initially meant to be named _The Eclipse,_ but Rian Johnson changed the name.
Can you do a lore video on the New Republic? They went out with no screen time in the movies :(
spongedog lol
That is because the new movies are total trash. Read Timothy Zahns Trawn trilogy instead. In there, the New republic shows its teeth :)
Flavius Todorius Thrawn is technically part of canon now. I guess that is good too.

Hello everyone how is your day/night and you eck you are all great (well most of you)
Darth Nihilus hello lord of hunger
Darth Vader hello lord of fathers

The Eclipse is perfection
The eclipse would actually lose the battle against a viscount if it doesn't use it's super laser!
I love the Malevolence, imagined if it was scaled up to super star destroyer size.
Ccs class battle cruiser vs imperial star destroyer or mc80 home one cruiser 81st try!!!!!
I still think a Covenant CPV-class heavy destroyer would be a better match up. :3
Raving Rando try suggesting it to him😂😂
You should make a video on the best standard issue weapons of the Star Wars factions.
Maybe a factions compared video on the best homeworld/main base location?
You should do more of these! they have alot of info and are fun to watch!
Love the matchup and I completely agree! If there was another faction in this, I would also put the Pride of the Core in this matchup
Lord Tuskk that would be decided on who shoots first, if the eclipse shoots with it's laser goodbye mavolence and if mavolence shoots it's ion cannon goodbye eclispe, if we are taking the superweapons outta this then eclipse wins.
and the eclipse would shot first dues to the malevolence having to go broadside
Malovelence wouldn't be able to fully disable the eclipse, and even if it did disable its shields, the malevolence doesn't have enough turbo lasers to take it down. The eclipse's armor is nigh impenetrable, and the eclipse is also 12 km larger than the malevolence.
The eclipse would just ram it. The bow was designed for that after all
I agree with your decisions.
Halo Valiant Class Superheavy Cruiser vs Star Wars MC 75 Cruiser
Hi

TheRed Hawk 😊😊😊
happy holidays :)
You too :) cool santa hawk
Truly interesting series of videos that put you into thinking.Good job

Top 5 Imperial commanders from cannon
I would love to see a video of the Supremacy Versus the Vicount in a one on one and which one would win.
Which faction has the best generals/admirals?
Star Commander, they did that a believe last week, you should totally check it out if you haven't seen it
Good idea, but needs best general and best admiral, since what makes a great general is different than a great admiral.
maybe republic has the upper hand
i think the malevolance would be effective with a support fleet. using the ion cannon to disable ships and use the main guns to pick apart ships while being supported by a large group of vulture droids and hyena bombers
20 viscount stardefenders verse the first Death Star
Ninja 84 death star would win
Toxic UA-cam Damn you're stupid
Whats with that hour long ad in the middle of this 12 min video? That's simply insane!!!
It might be just me but the ion cannon on the maleovelent(not spelled right) definitely makes it the best. I mean it could completely disable a republic star destroyer/venator class. That means it could probably disable most ship/battle stations. Just think about this... disabling the Death Star.
How about a video on which fleet would win? And have all the factions, with a small fleet, go against eachother.
Empire (Star Wars) vs The Ori (StarGate)
Would be curious to see a video on the eclipse VS. The phalanx from 40k
I'd say:
1. Supremacy (Mobile shipyard, hyperspace tracking and FO tech is very impressive)
2. Eclipse (High tech, gravity well, superlaser)
3. Viscount (Just a really good ship)
4. Malevolence (meh)
Hey, just saw you on Reddit (DeusVultSaracen) and decided to come check out your new video, love the versus videos, and I may have a Star Destroyer obsession.
I vote eclipse because it's massive and powerful...
My actual favorite ship is sovereign
And supremacy
Aye
Idea for a video: what kind of fleet composistion would you have, for each star wars faction, using these flagships?
Which faction had the best special forces?
All factions included in this video had some sort of Special Forces, the empire had Inferno Squad lead by Iden versio which that switched sides and became Rebel/New Republic Special forces. I do not have a exact name of a clone special forces, but the droids that invaded the place with the all good beacon up could be considered Special forces.
And i don't consider a best.

Making ships that are actually practical and not just a firepower show🖒🖒🖒
Good video. Now we need a Malevolence vs the Senat match up.
Just hyperspace-ram the Supremacy and it would be all over
Edward Barillas then any ship is weak, they can all be easily destroyed.
Zachary Thanstrom BUT CAN THAT BEAT THE ULTRA STAR DESTROYER?
First of all the Supremacy needs raw materials to construct vehicles.
Secondly, if it could just sit back and use bombers to take down an enemy ship, it would've done so in the movie. It didn't, and that wasn't even a dreadnought it was up against.
Andy Jacobs true but in the movie we can see what looks to be construction being done, that and the reason they didn't do this in the movie is one plot armour and two they wouldn't be able to provide coverage for the bomber's as we sour when Ren had to break of his attack.
I had no idea the Eclipse was used in Legends. I only thought it was created in the Forces of Corruption.
Now I love the story even more
I actually really like the malevolence. so what
Fucking dumbass phone.
So what if it's smaller, if that ion cannon hits you you're fucked.
@@connorgolden4 exactly. Just look at hoth defense ion cannon vs the isd. It is tiny by comparison but crippled the ship. Or how about the experimental b wing vs the imperial light cruiser in rebels that one taps it. Judge me by my size do you?
Ahh yes the phenomenal Eclipse class SSD. Fully agree with that, annoyed to no end we don’t get to see that in the sequels.
Next vid you should do who had the best admirals between the Rebellion, The Empire, The Cis and The Republic
Like capture the flag, a flagship should be defended as it may hold EXTREMELY valuable individuals onboard, and will cost ALOT of money to build.
loving thee videos Eck keep up the excellent work
Two criticisms regarding the Malevolence, firstly that ion cannon's blast expands rapidly as it travels, the cannon itself is not larger than three venators but when fired on Plo Koon the blast swallowed all three of his ships that he brought, which opened them up for the second criticism I have what is the 500 turbolaser batteries, which are positioned in such a way that I can be just as effective in a broadside as it is firing forward. The Malevolence can potentially bring down any ship on the list just depending on where it fires its main weapons from.
"I ended going with the vi count because its such a phenomenal well ROUNDED fleet
bad pun
A video you should do is out of the first order, empire, droids, republic who had the most powerful leader
The malevolence was based on the Bismarck from WWII
I think the malevolence is the most powerful ship in Star Wars but only if it uses the thrawn catapult… if it does that behind the supremacy it can knock out its engines so it can’t turn and the supremacy doesn’t have turbo lasers behind it
