The nitro deck is a Nintendo switch grip that seems to be catching everyone’s attention online. Mixed reviews all over the place but I have to say I absolutely do not like the nitro deck. However I do believe I have found some thing to take its place that not only looks cooler but is an all-around nicer product for your Nintendo switch. Just a warning, the Retroflag also scratches the Switch (worse imo). I've covered it a lot, it has metal latches to hold the Switch into place and those metal latches completely remove the black paint on the Switch's joycon rails. It's a great bit of kit but you won't avoid damage there.

He spent a few seconds talking about the Nitro Deck. He said he didn't like the feel and it scratched his Switch. Then he proceeded to sell another product. Garbage info. The Retroflag scratches all Switch rails, but he fails to mention that. I have the Nitro Deck, and do not use it because of stick placement, but it deserves a bit more of a explanation.
I’m glad I found this video, the wife and I have been looking at the nitro deck since it first came out. It started to dawn on me though, that the d-pad is too far down on the controller. I play way too many sidescroller type of games, we both like the looks of this device.
Everyone is so nitpicky on this. My god. I bought it and it feels great. Way better than the joycons.
I still kept my Joycons even if I have this. The Switch with the Nitro Deck fits good in my Hori Go Pack. And I still have them for tabletop mode. I just took apart the grip and left the center piece to easily fit in the remaining space of my go pack.
I saw in another video that the retro flag scratched the side rails part of their switch...
I've also heard about the back of ppls switches getting scratched on the nitro. Not seen anything yet
It looks like most of the grip controllers have this same issue because they all use scraping metal clips, this is the only controller that clamps down this way but it's so goddamn ugly

Just looking at it. I like how the air in-take isn’t blocked 😍 was a bit annoying with some of the other grips blocking that and it would heat up so quickly
I got a nitro deck and it’s my favorite switch accessory by a longshot. I def understand it’s not for everyone but I absolutely loved it
currently waiting for mine to arrive. Had set down my switch for about 6 months now due to drift. Also got Tear of the kingdom to go along with my new nitro deck. Expecting tons of gaming hours after I get that

I also do not like my nitro deck whatsoever. It is by far the most uncomfortable controller I've ever held. That manba controller looks so much more ergonomic, I just added to my amazon cart! Thank you so much for showing me that!
Hori split Pad Pro for me, though this quirky one looks pretty ergonomic
Looks cool, might have to check it out, but I recommend the DOYOKY grips, they are way more comfortable than hori split ones and upgraded sticks, mappable buttons, rgb lighting, and can be taken off to use wirelessly with vibration and gyro sensor if wanna play in a group,

Thank you so much for this. Was thinking about that dock because of the Gamecube look and the hall effect joystick but the scratching....just no. If the Mamba has Hall effect I will buy it.

You got my sub, I wished I knew this a month ago. I have mixed feelings about the NitroDeck. I don't regret it because it goes well with my switch oled. I just don't like the feel in correspondence to shooters.
The RGB and the button placements got me for this grip. I just have to feel the shoulder buttons and my hands are on the big side.
I also bought this because of my abnormally large hands. To put them into perspective, they’re the same size in measurement as those of Shaq O’Neil.

Apparently nitro deck announced an updated model that fixes basically every problem and even added hdmi output (of course adapter sold separately)...however they changed the sticks to make them both top symmetrical which is a deal breaker
CRKD took the community feedback and are relaunching the nitro deck + with a new layout and the deck will also have video output to help use like a dock. I would

NIce looking device, i have a dobe/nexigo that i had for last few years and eggshell version that came out a bit earlier this year. I like some of these other controller docks better than the nitrodeck. I seen something like eggshell design that has hall effect thumbsticks and acts as a dock.

@@DripMediaGaming i have to take gander. I hate that so many of these types of controllers ocming out and its a hite and miss. I had a gen 2 nexigo controller but i had few issues with that version. So i kept my original and the eggshell version my brother got me earlier this year

I actually love the nitro deck but I understand it’s not for everyone. It more comfortable for me then the joycon and split pad pros.

I’ve heard a few people say that it can scratch your switch. Idk they there isn’t some sort of felt or something on it. The first time I saw the thing before I heard anyone say it was scratching their switch my first thought was “why isn’t there something so it’s not just plastic rubbing on plastic?” Seems like a HUGE oversight.

I prefer binbok joycons that I like that my brotberuses. I also like nexigo and dobe ergonomic controller grip that similar to but in my opinion better than nitrodeck

Not gonna lie I bought the Nitro Deck (Black) before looking for any reviews. I love it so far (No scratches after three months); but I saw on their website that they have other products and wanted to see other people's opinions to see if I missed a few details before I go all in and start buying more stuff from nitro deck. After seeing various videos... the hate is real, the excuses youtubers do to hate on a product and plug in another product is disgusting. I know; to each their own, but at least give a good reason why it sucks.

Idk, the best 1 that I've seen and have is the skull candy grip protector and case.
I have 3 sets of grips to swap out for the right feel, a case that holds it, and over all it hasn't disappointed

The dpad looks nice. God! It's takes like 2 mins to test a dpad. And the dpad can make or break any controller unless you only use them as extra buttons.
For me ...scratches are there because you use the switch for your enjoyment...dont want scratches..Dont use it...😂
The manba grip is pretty darn bad. I have one and for 45 buck it's the worst deal. The nintendo switch is the only console so i play it for hours on my days off. The Manba is just way to thick, the bumper buttons suck especially if you play games where you use them often, and after maybe an hour later i get wrist pain from holding it straight. Worst part I got stick drift 2 weeks later.

I’m not a fan of the nitro deck either. It’s too heavy and bulky. I’m looking for an alternative because the concept it still a good idea.
For the price, you can get something better and with hall effect joysticks..
The hori is what I go to. My main dislike of joycons is how small the joysticks are. They don't feel good in my gorilla hands.

already tried bunch of grips in this video not fan of rgb and futuristic tech design all are same waste of money only the nitrodeck was worth the single penny nit clean retro look customizable/adjustable trigger vibration back buttons firmware updates etc / my son love it.. plus the case design itself extra protection..
I have this and the grips are terrible. It’s like holding an original Xbox controller.

Oh no it scratched the back of your switch, 🙄 seriously dude, come on my switch is literally falling apart at the seems, a damn screw feel out of it today, on the floor never to be found again, & ya know what I don't Even care it still works. 😂 But yeah, main reason why I want a nitro deck is to cover the back of my switch so I don't have to worry about it falling apart any worse, & the mesh on the bottom is peeling off as well
Thank you for saving me $100. In this day and age of every business being sketchy, it was a big red flag that they don't want to answer if the back will scratch limited edition consoles. Stick placement is nonsensical, and the build is horribly cheap. The price I said was also because they chose to ship it more than twice of the usual rate to Canada and probably get a bit of kickback on that too. Hope the company goes under, but knowing 2023 is the generations of whipped consumer weirdos we have 100 more "companies" waiting in the wings

i bought one and just waiting for it to arrive but looking again what bothers me is that the right joystick looks too low. hopefully it doesn’t feel uncomfortable
