This video was helpful. I was still not totally decided on which grip to get, but this solidifies the CRKD Nitro Deck for me. My daughter had an original (hackable) Switch where one of the rails actually BROKE OFF attached to a Hori controller, probably because it's so dang beefy. I bought her a Switch Lite since she only ever plays in handheld mode and had the old one repaired for myself. I don't want to repeat of the broken rail system so before I play it in handheld I want to get a decent grip/controller. That seems like the right choice.
Yeah, I feel the most comfortable with the Nitro Deck over some of these other grips. The lock is sturdy where it should and it doesn't feel like it puts pressure on the rails.

I have to owe it to this video for solidifying my original decision. I went into this wanting the Nitrodeck. I saw a lot of videos which were so long ago. You kept up with the times and delivered. I would do the Nitrodeck followed by the Nexigo Gripcon as a solid second. I will purchase the Nitrodeck once I get the chance to. You got my sub and peaked my interest.

@JustinAfterDark the video was super convenient, I upgraded from my OG Switch to an OLED Switch. I purchased an OLED Switch Console by itself and I'm keeping my OG permanently docked unless doing otherwise. My original plan was to get the Black Nitrodeck. But seeing those transparent variants make me want to purchase an extra Nitrodeck.
Nice! Always nice to have a switch as a permanent console on the shelf!
Crkd certainly has come out with some good looking versions! Had my eye on that Game Cube one but ended up with white.
Really excited to see what the company does in the future!

Wish id seen this BEFORE I bought my nitro deck. Spent about a week searching for a good grip that held the switch instead of usong the rails. Hopefully i like the grip because my biggest selling point was the no drift and the fact that it locked the switch in
One thing I love about the nitro deck is that the part that connects to the switch is part of the body as with the others it’s a block sticking out of the bottom that looks cheap to me and makes me worry it might have something happen hit it and have it damage my switch (I’m not rough with my switch but it’s still a fear of mine)
💯 I agree! Honestly the extra girth there makes it feel much more protected and I have had plenty of problems with cheaply made usb c ports. Great point dude!

I use the Dobe Eggshell personally. The back buttons suck (rubber on mouse mechanical switch) and the face buttons are relatively low quality, membrane for the A button was torn from overuse.
Managed to mod the face button membrane with the one from the 8bitDo Ultimate controller with a bit of cutting some parts to fit into place.
The Analog sticks absolutely need a Joycon thumbcap for better comfort.
The kickstand and the ability to carry 4 cartridges is nice IMO.
8:42 Only possible if there's a hard material stuck between the Switch rails and the Eggshell's rails, the rail materials are softer (plastic) VS the Switch's rails (metal)
All in all, not a bad grip/shell controller for under 20 USD where I'm from
Dobe not available but the newer Nexigo seems similar. I think im gonna tyr the Mobapads first.
Original nexigo i got last year and newer eggshell style from this year i got from my brother as bday present are my personal favorite. They have a new one out but going wait for that will till next year ^°

I do hope you can get a full refund from Amazon. And if you do, black Friday/cyber Monday may have something like the Nexigo controller on sale which came with the hall effect sticks. I know it's a pricey boy though....
The springs in the triggers of the Elecgear dislodge very easily, and are damn near impossible to fix. That model is sold by different brands, including Dobe.

Anyone had try dobe eggshell 2? How's the vibration and is there any hall effect controller ?
I got the Nitro Deck and thumbstick placement is awful, so I hardly use it, did any of the other one feel more comfortable or are they about the same?
Nexigo, for sure. They give ya a little more to hold onto so your thumb ends up in a better spot. If I didn't get the nitro deck I would have got the Nexigo.
NexiGo Grip Con with Hall Effect thumbs is a great way to go I recommend it have the cosmic nebula and the clear edition

I have this nitro deck the only one flaws is the right thumb stick is too low they should make it abit higher to the left abit as it's abit hard to play specialy when a shooting game using the right thumbstick.
Totally agree. I'm looking forward to getting the gen 2 or "plus" version. I have the pre order and it looks like they've listened to us in regards to that stick placement. Excited to find out.

Which is the best for large hands? I find the nitro deck was meant for smaller hands.
Ergonomic wise, the Elecgear but, I don't think anyone should buy that product.
The Nexigo has a bit of girth to it and would probably do right by ya.

Is the Nitro Deck good for Oled? No issues? I'm thinking of getting one but I'm not sure if it was good than Nexigo or Retroflag.
I think it works great with my OLED. I know some aren't a fan of having to put pressure on the screen to get it out of the device after you push the release. That said, I haven't had any issues that feel like I'm damaging my screen by any means. It's not anymore touch pressure than I give to my OLED phone screen. I think the OLED looks great in the Deck and I prefer having a lock and release to slip it in and out instead of pressure of the device keeping it in.
I really did enjoy my time with the Nexigo too but the style of the Nitro Deck swayed me to that.

Does any of these joy cons back paddles can map to the other side? Like, can i bind the left back paddle to "A" button?
The detachable joycons i've used so far can't really do that.
Yeah! So my nitro deck can have the right hand controls mapped to the lefthand back paddles. This is one of the bigger reasons for going with a controller of this style. The other three can do this too I believe but I do not have them anymore unfortunately.

Me and brother have the dobe/nexigo eggshell version and the dobe/nexigo white version and we love them. We had thought about getting the nitrodeck but we don't like how you remove the switch out compared to the controllers we have already. I had a gen two but that got ruined as my puppy got hold of it but luckly we gad the old ones n storage just incase. I would like nexigo/dobe combine best aspects of their three controllers. The eggshell is my favorite but my issue is i wish the thumbsticks were a little bigger. We had thought to get the nitrodeck but we dont see the point since we got the two nexigo/dobe style controllers already.
For sure! I was surprised by both of those, especially the pricing. It's just nice there are so many options at this point.

Are they the same brand?
Nah, all four of the products are different brands. However, if you look hard enough on amazon different brands sell the same models of some of these controllers which most likely means they are bought from the same manufactures.@@RFNY315

RetroFlag seems like a pretty popular contender! I honestly didn't include it because it seemed like it was getting a lot of coverage already. Good price at $44.00 though!

The only reason why I'm not buying nitro deck is due to the grip feel. I've seen a few videos and ND seems to stress your hands quickly. Not good for long use. Other than that, I think it's the best out here.
I get it. I've heard of others not into the texture of the grip or the sizing. What option do you think you're gonna try instead?

After watching this, I sold my Nitro Deck and bought the Dobe. It was on sale and had a coupon, so I got for just under $24. It blows away the Nitro Deck in every category. The dpad (although not my favorite at all) is soooo much better than Nitro. Thanks for the video

Dobe sucks and the thumb sticks are small and garbage The Nitro deck has Hall effect sensors so you just downgraded to cheap crap

@@davidecalitescu3727 it's been great. I did have one issue with the pass through charging not working well, but they were actually really awesome about getting me fixed up. Their customer service was honestly outstanding. There is essentially no wear on it at all. Although I haven't been playing much the last month or two.
