Si, todos somos bilingues, pero no todos somos hablar con la misma fluidez de los hispanoblantes nativos, asi que, nunca he oido la mayoria de los expresiones que Antonio me enseñó durante la leccion porque todos eses modisimos son muy coloquial no? Mi favorito fue la expresion eres un encogio, porque estaba pensando ayer como llamo a alguien un "cheapskate' en espanol y ahora sé decirlo.
He did not speak a word of English when he moved to America and started acting but still memorized all his lines, not knowing what he was saying.
Sounds like an embellished story lol. But respect to him nonetheless
Hahaha that's what i did when i moved to america
@Pelado Hdp Yeah it was kinda hard when i started but right now i don't need to memorize it.

That's what I'm doing now, living and studying in Spain, without speaking Spanish 😀🙈
"why a pepper is more than a tomato" -Antonio Banderas
no, el dijo lo contrario "less than a tomato"
There's clearly a vegetable heirarchy in Spain...
@@sulamith105 as a Spaniard myself, I can confirm it does exist
@Roman Sionis The first one is the tomato, no doubt about it, followed by the onion, then garlic, and finally pepper. There you have the Spanish hierarchy of vegetables with which you can cook almost every Spanish dish.

That's because in spanish the ''S'' it is not like a ''whisper'', it is an actual word, ''ese'', so when people is used to talk a lot in spanish it is normal to pronounce the S that way. He probably doesn't speak english a lot too.

It would make sense in Greek as well. So i understood what you meant...
I'm Spanish and I keep coming back to this video, it's HILARIOUS. I love Antonio and his voice tho
This by far the best video in this series. I love that he gave the literal translations, explained the meaning, and used the slang is sentences to give us non-Spanish speakers context.

“Me cago en la leche que te dieron / que te han dado”. Se refiere a la leche materna, primer alimento que toma el hombre tras nacer. Hay otras expresiones como “tener mala leche”, que vienen a referirse a lo mismo.
"bruce eh-springsteen ES...la leche." gotta love the guy
vickie g every spanish person adds "eh" before pronouncing a word that begins with sp,st...
(Ex: eh-Steven eh-Spieldberg, eh-Spiderman etc.)
Megaminter 99 espiderman "e "no" eh"
We cant pronunce the "sp" sound.. thats why most of us cant say "springsteen" and we say "eh-springsteen"
Its the same for english speakers.. with spanish words... you cant pronunce words with "R" properly.
Its not because we havent learned to... its because it is difficult to learn.
Yes, teachers always explain that and they insist over and over, but anyway, we Spanish always say this "eh" sound before a word that begins with S. We just can´t help it.

I don’t know whether he’s acting or not, but he definitely seems to be a great person! And by the way even when I am not jetlagged or tired, I don’t have as much energy as he has in this one video 😬😂
Lol he starred in 3 movies in 2017 alone. Check them out on Netflix, they're actually pretty good!
Abera Cadabra What I meant is that I don’t know whether he’s acting in this video, as he seems to behave overly and unrealistically energetic. There’s a different word in english that better specifies this kind of behavior, but as english is not my native language, I don’t remember what that word exactly was.
The voice is a little bit acted, he makes a deep voice wich is not natural at all, but the energy is normal, idk, he's representing the feelings of those words or phrases for a better understanding I guess.
