      Where do you buy the sticks for the vita 2001? I had a stick break on me and it started drifting (the tension was gone) and I ordered replacements but the actual stick looks like a GameCube stick (not slick like the vita stick) it works great but just doesn’t look good.

    17:48 Regarding #8 and#9, that problem of ghost movement is one of the most common issues with the ps vita pch 2000 models. Tilting the joystick at different postures and blowing compressed air generally fixes it in most cases. So better to try that before trying to dismantle it and replace the joysticks.

I had a 2000 model with a bad connection for one of these, the button registered a constant input (as if it was constantly pressed down). For some reason that messed up the other buttons. One thing I can say about the possible liquid damaged devices is don't test anything or replace anything first. Just clean the dirty stuff off and put flux on nearby components and resolder them by hot air gun.
    During the process, also move the capacitors and resistors to check whether they're connecting to the board or not, which can cause the broken connection between the motherboard and the daughterboard.

  • @SirCharles.
    @SirCharles. 4 роки тому +15

    I still love my Vita, it's such an awesome handheld, and it basically has a full PSP built-in that you can access after hacking. I've also done some motherboard swaps a couple years ago when FW3.60 was big in the hacking scene. The Vita is pretty modular in build, so replacing faulty parts on it is super easy and straightforward.

While Sony does make good handhelds I'd argue game wise the gba-ds-3ds had better titles than the psp-vita. About the lower firmware ones being more valuable: Previously they were before but now you can hack any firmware version and downgrade to a lower one relatively easily now. So you can go from 3.73 to 3.60 or 3.65 without much hassle. So I'm not sure how much more value you can get from the lower firmware ones compared to one at 3.73
