    I worked a car parts retail job were I replaced a guy that was executed by some thugs robbing the place and I remember looking in the work manual about how to "defend" your self against armed robbery in the store. It had illustrations on how the employee was to get on there knees at gun point and cower letting the criminals do whatever they wanted in the store. I remember that being such a joke but its actually more than that its a great evil that these companys make working class citizens cower to the criminals and let them do whatever they want with you. These companys have insurance to cover there losses and pretend they care but in actuality they could care less about what happens to you.

    My office does not allow me to carry. I have a firearm specific back pack with hidden compartments

    So if you have USCCA as your personal defense insurance, you carry at work and your work is a gun free zone, no guns allowed, but you have a valid state carry license (valid license form the sate one lives in).... you use justified deadly force to protect yourself.... will USCCA still have your back? or the fact that you weren't allowed by your employer to carry (legally in/on private property) will void your insurance coverage with USCCA?

      +Eslamizar good question, I would like to know this as well

      I don't know about your gun-free workplace, but carrying under any circumstance where I work would get you a quick, escorted trip to the front door, after which finding a new job would be pretty high on the list of things to do.

      Michael Ogden we are in the same club buddy lol. But if someone decided to carry.. (s)he should ask.... would I rather have some degenerate kill me and leave my family and friends sad? or would I rather loose my job and live to fight another day.

      yea, I posted about me not being willing to have a "gun free" job, but my Wife delivers auto windows in the wee small hours of the AM and is alone, her knife and pepper spray just don't give me a huge amount of confidence....

      +Eslamizar USCCA coverage is in place when you are following the laws within your jurisdiction. Please check with your locality to determine if "gun-free" zones carry a legal penalty. In some places violation of a gun-free zone is not a crime, but just an ordinance violation. In other places it can be a felony. You need to check your local laws... and I will have someone from USCCA member services area answer this question.

    Outstanding. Glad to see someone talking about this is a more common forum. One of the most powerful things i heard recently was "Carry your gun every day. Nobody is going to supply you with a gun the day you find yourself in a gunfight. That day can happen any time. The only person that will be at your gunfight is you and the bad guy, be ready for it, the bad guy will be ready".

    Off body carry in "my opinion" should never be an option. you should and need to always be in contact with your weapon.

    • @michaellindstrom8402
      @michaellindstrom8402 8 років тому +4

      +TheMrTopman Please be careful about absolutes like, "never". I work in an office type environment and due to my job duties I can NOT carry concealed (it's not practical.) Open carry is too disruptive. Not everyone is on the front lines. So one-size fits all, does not work....My best option is to have my gun concealed, but within arms length. No one is going to rush me to get to a gun they don't even know is there. I carry every day. I work next to an Army Recruiter, a busy mall food court, and across from a movie theater; all soft targets. The chances of something happening is small, nevertheless, I'm prepared. Be smart AND be responsible.

      I agree, there are plenty of ways to conceal. Ankle carry is what I do in office settings. No one is looking at your feet. Also if u wear a suit or button down shoulder carry is a good option. Just because you can't carry iwb doesn't mean off body.

    • @TheMrTopman
      @TheMrTopman 7 років тому

      Like I said "in my opinion" I am not in favor of off body carry. You should always be in contact with your personal protection tool. There are so many different types of holsters and small firearms to conceal. Velcro elastic holsters helps you conceal in unique ways. Peace to all!!!!

    I'm surprised you didn't mention ankle carry. I regularly ankle carry because nobody notices it and it is the most comfortable on-body carry method when you sit in a chair most of the day like I do.

    • @S0cualm3nace
      @S0cualm3nace 8 років тому +4

      Completely agree. It's way under rated. Ankle carry is much better than any bag or planner. No one is looking at your feet, even if it does show wheat black socks and no one will notice. Did this everyday for 2 years.

    I work in a Manufacturing Company, and I keep my firearm in my lunch bag, and inside is the bag is a small safe. I wonder if you have any other suggestions.

    • @USCCAOfficial
      @USCCAOfficial  6 років тому +1

      DeJuan, the most important part of carrying at work is making sure it is secure. If you are going to be carrying in your lunch box I would pay special consideration to what else is in the same pocket to make sure there is no interference with your firearm. Furthermore, I would also make sure I had control over my lunch box throughout the day if you were not able to lock it up in a locker or a drawer. Are you able to carry on your person?

    Great video but one small critique:
    Locking office filing cabinets and drawers have a master key that is easy to get. We had a contractor that was caught using one after hours to steal laptops that were locked in these drawers. I recommend a small gun safe with a mounted security cable so it cannot be taken if the drawer lock is defeated. Personally, I will not off-body carry which influenced to my EDC selection to choose a firearm and method of on-body carry that I would be comfortable with. My choice ended up being a deep concealment holster shirt by 5.11(there are other manufacturers as well) and a Glock 27 with a break away shirt. Yes it adds time to the draw, but it is the most comfortable on-body carry I have found. I can keep spare mags secure on the opposite side of the shirt that help balance the weight. I never have to worry about a shirt riding up and exposing my carry when sitting, bending, etc. which causes one to check unconsciously with their hand that can be a huge tell. These are bad habits to get into. Even though I own the business, my clients do not need to know I carry when I invite them to the office for meetings.

      LANCE HECKERMAN Most office furniture locks are not master keyed but some are. Most are also very easy to pick open or force. I've unlocked many in my 30 years as a locksmith.

    it is interesting that he is dancing around the top if your employer doesn't allow guns in the office. He give advise on how to fool your boss.

    • @patrickconnors8403
      @patrickconnors8403 8 років тому

      +Castle Tutelage he wasn't dancing around anything, this was solely about a workplace where firearms are allowed. I work in security and here's a paradox, though licensed as an armed officer, we cannot carry loaded firearms into our headquarters and in fact, cannot put the gear on or holster a gun until we are on the site that requires being armed.
      Now, this is Arizona... I conceal carry, and work a post that is unarmed. I cannot conceal in any way while on the post, but do keep my firearm in my personal vehicle. I drive a patrol vehicle on post, the firearm cannot be on my person or in the vehicle under current rules. Part of my work requires making traffic stops in a very large private community which observes tens of thousands of vehicles every month, construction traffic, vendors, guests, large social events and residents in the approximately 1700-2200 lot large property. Fortunately, I and we have never had an incident involving use of force.
      The point here, like the one Kevin was making... We are subject to certain rules of engagement anywhere we work and this video was about a workplace that allows carry.

    • @CastleTutelage
      @CastleTutelage 8 років тому +2

      that funny. he talks about "discrete" options come on. He cannot tell you to carry at work, if illegal but he gave you some options. dance dance dance
      Your second paragraph has no value to advance the conversation. Everybody can keep a gun in their car on your employers parking lot. My State of Minnesota has a law saying an employer cannot prevent you to carry on the parking lot and there is case law too in every State too.

    • @patrickconnors8403
      @patrickconnors8403 8 років тому

      You are simply a contrarian, it's obvious. Concealed carry is all about being discrete, that is not a buzz word for sneaking around and circumventing the law or an employer's rules. Hence his use of the planner and the briefcase. The simple fact is, concealed or not, we are not allowed to carry everywhere, period. We don't have to frequent those places or work for those who desire us unarmed.
      So, you're a lawyer as well and understand or know case law in every state? The best writers on the subject can barely do it and say so... that's a lot to know. Later.

      nice strawman dribble. Can you tell me more about your job that has nothing to do with concealed carry?

    • @patrickconnors8403
      @patrickconnors8403 8 років тому

      First, get the words right... it's "drivel," when one wants to be cute and we do some concealed work in security, it's relevant; I have done some work in that mood. Second, I use my real name here, nothing fraudulent or adolescent. Happy trolling, CassyTute.

    Strong side of the leg which is always on the bottom when I cross my legs - I do not need my ankle rig popping up if I 'forget' it is there (because it is so comfy!) Otherwise I like the 'day planner' idea - I have a nice one which I can modify to hold my compact and mag just as you showed - thanks Kevin another good video!

  • @Curzyk

    Just a brief reminder: Never tell anyone, especially if you are storing your bag or "day planner" in your desk. Desk locks will only prevent accidental discovery, but only take a few seconds to pick.

  • @barelyfree9427

    Yeah my employer has a strict "no weapons" policy. They don't remotely elaborate on that point and keep it intentionally vague. People carry pocket knives all over and the clips are all very obvious but I have a feeling a firearm would be a different story.

    Unless there is a physical impairment that prevents it, always carry on-body. You won't be carrying around a "tactical briefcase" everywhere you go a work.

    I went to the point where I will NOT work for anyone who doesn't respect my right to carry my firearm at all times, I also will not work for anyone who does not allow me to open carry my firearm, since I do a lot of manual labor jobs; painter, landscaper, stone masonry, etc.... I cannot really carry concealed, but it is easy for me to hang my edc from my belt. When I say I cannot really carry concealed it is because of all of my body movements, it hikes my shirt or jacket up just enough to drive me crazy all day, so yea, open it is.
    I know many folks do not like open carry, but I have personally been the deterrent for a few would-be bad guys because they saw an armed citizen ho might get in the way of their crime. I have also heard that it makes me a target when I open carry, I am ok with that because I am the target, not my Wife and kids, or YOUR wife and kids....

      An interesting option for you might be a chest holster. It could be open and upfront when you want it to be or concealed under a button down shirt or jacket when discretion is called for. It ain't cheap but looks like it should last a lifetime.

      oh, I am covered, but this one intrigues me for my outdoors activities as well, since it removes my firearm from my hip, where I am constantly moving it forward and back to keep it out of the way, this one fits the role I need, and they are local to me, so I am giving them a shot

    In Ohio if a buinsess has posted a no guns sign in a conspicuous place and you knowingly disregard and carry anyways, it is a 4th degree misdemeanor, which is up to 30 days in jail.
