On the eighth episode of The FADER Uncovered, host Mark Ronson is joined by the one-of-a-kind superstar Santigold. Ronson and Santi, friends for over two decades, talk about her genre-spanning 2008 debut album and its unforgettable singles “Creator” and "L.E.S. Artistes." Santi goes back in time to discuss her first band, the punk group Stiffed, and her days as a regular performer at CBGBs as well as her transition into becoming an unlikely popstar in the mid-2000s. Later on Santi fills Mark in on upcoming album Spirituals, her first new music since 2016.

I had that CD on repeat. I loved it. I was traveling back and forth to NYC for work back then and the album felt like my own personal soundtrack of NYC. So many amazing memories.... 💞💞💞

Yes! I was in high school and my cousin who lived in NYC invited me to visit for a summer and introduced me to her first album- it definitely felt like the soundtrack of new York that year- that and MIA's paper planes. So many great memories

Yess... MIAs album was a masterpiece too. Also the first sex and the city movie reminds of NYC. I never watched the show but saw the movie there and met SJP at a party. She was absolutely lovely and funny 💝

Santigold was still known as "Santogold" when I first heard "Starstruck" and "Lights out" on my roomies Xbox 360 in 2008/9. I bought Master of my Make-believe in 2012 at an HMV and never turned back since (as a fan of her artistry).
