- On the second episode of Season 2 of The FADER Uncovered, host Mark Ronson is joined by Kelis, the genre-defying, future-everything artist whose arrival on the music scene two decades ago changed the game forever. Together they revisit Kelis’s 2001 FADER cover, written between the release of her iconic albums Kaleidoscope and Wanderland. They look back on that period of Kelis’s career, taking in everything from making studio magic with The Neptunes to the downsides of touring Europe with U2. They also reminisce about the time Kelis, a Cordon Bleu-trained chef, catered a party at Mark’s, and look forward to new music, including her latest single, “Midnight Snacks.”

Such an underrated interview. Kelis is so overlooked in current time and I can never figure out why. Her being snubbed accolade-wise during her prime has always been the biggest mystery in pop culture. She always had futuristic bops ❤
May I offer a reason? It’s no mystery anymore. Those who don’t get down with whatever they’re required to get down with, are snubbed in favor of those who do. How many artists have said this directly or indirectly for us to accept and believe it?
Kelis is one of those humans that we felt accomplished that she was successful after all the rollercoaster rides.
Like we're genuinely happy to know she's great and we wish her all the happiness that's available for her.
Kelis is 1 of the most creatively free & courageous artists of our time. She didn't get the full accolades she deserves, but I love that she doesn't even care! She's so unapologetically herself... very refreshing & I love & miss her music!
same! and im not even an original fan I became a fan in like 2011 I think
kelis a legend 🖖🏾
LOVE KELIS! I think this is her best interview, very candid.
Star trakkkk 🖖🏿
Great point he made about Aaliyah
I agree aaliyah and kelis made r&B music that was very progressive! very ahead of their time.
I loved when she went into the details of the Wanderland album troubles and the label problems - I wished Mark would go into it more and the early deal with The Neptunes, like having two massive people like this was the perfect opportunity to discuss the industry more.
That part!
She went into detail about that deal in an magazine interview . I don’t think he was trying rehash that especially since he has a relationship with Pharrell

Two of my favorite artists! Mark and Kelis! Mark's lisp is so cute!
Amazing interview. Kelis has always been a trailblazer and deserves her flowers!!!
This interview also gives me further insight on how infuriating record labels can be when not understanding an artist’s vision. I agree with Kelis about the re-recording, why do it when it was already finished a year prior and already starting to be put out overseas?
She opened for Britney Spears at the onyx hotel tour and she was da bomb
Love Kelis 🌈
I wish Aaliyah had the opportunity to make a song with Kelis.
Oh my gosh
I love her!
The queen
Great podcast interview 👏🏼 I LOVE Kelis! ❤
Kelis is a icon!
Someone be a hero and post time stamps! When do they mention the Neptunes??

Def need a collabo from them too. Crazy it hasn't happened yet.
Not enough views.
Millionaire would’ve been a great 2nd single after Milkshake
Protect My Heart or Attention would’ve been good too
it was a single, it even had a music video
