      You look like you were extremely hot 25 years ago. Too bad age makes women expire so quickly even though looks is all making them interesting. Many fans were disappointed and some of them were even outraged when they learnt that Antonio Banderas had been cast as Armand in the film. Books and Films are completely different mediums. When it comes to telling a compelling story, the directors of films often rely on visual aspects of the story. Writers on the other hand tend to capture the imagination of their readers. If the director had cast some teenager for the role of Armand, it would have looked utterly cringy and unsuitable on screen. Just imagine a teenager trying to seduce relatively much older Louie on screen. That would have looked lousy.

    Antonio Banderas, being casted in the role of "Armand", was an excellent choice... He is of Hispanic-Caribbean descent... The origin of vampires are believed, by many, to have been rooted in the Hispanic and French colonies of the Gulf and Caribbean; pre the Western European introduction of Bram Stoker's novel, "Dacula"...
    Keep in mind, the ship "Demeter", was once a slave ship that traveled from the Caribbean to Europe; as the Caribbean was of Spanish and French territory... Tge original vampire was not a White Caucasian-European... The the original vampire was of Color; African/Hispanic/Creole brought to Europe... Both, Lord Byron and subsequent, Bram Stoker, made that indication in their individual descriptive novels... It's White Europeans and White Americans that have given distorted narratives in their rebranding of vampires, as to history.

    I didn’t really understood this part 😭 wish someone could explain it to me. I feel like Armand is enjoying destroying Louis’s hopes to make him his, but he is acting as a teacher who knows everything while he doesn’t know more than Lestat (who at least admitted that he didn’t know anything) I feel like he wants to hurt Louis in what he believes so he becomes more vulnerable and feel this “human pain” that makes him so desirable. Again, I don’t think I really understood it correctly 😭 if someone has a good interpretation...

    • @stefanfilipovits21
      @stefanfilipovits21 2 роки тому +13

      I think he’s subtly trying to manipulate Louis into becoming dependent on him. Dependent for answers, understanding, and companionship. By this point Claudia & Louis are unraveling and It’s safe to assume Armand knows this. Armand wants a companion who will keep him connected to the age they’re in and Louis needs a companion who will share knowledge for once (unlike Lestat) and treat him like an equal. So Armand strings Louis along and tries to tease that he might have answers and in time might reveal them or they can potentially discover them together. I think Armand is using his wisdom and age to string Louis along and keep him interested in him until he can break him away from Claudia.

    • @stefanfilipovits21
      @stefanfilipovits21 2 роки тому +3

      I also agree with you that Armand is probably subtly breaking Louis’s “faith” and “belief” (such as it is) to slowly make him more vulnerable and dependent on Armand’s wisdom and companionship

      He’s explaining what it’s really like to be a vampire. He’s telling them that vampires age but they never change physically, but everybody else does so they have to cling onto something or someone so they don’t grow old and Give up on life and just wither away so this he’s actually telling him why Lestat chose him. He’s also kind of lying to Louis. He’s actually with holding a lot of information to probably get Louis on the side. That’s manipulating Louis because Armand’s maker is , Marius But at this point in time, Marius is probably asleep, as are most the children as most of the children of the millennia

      Which makes Louie the best. He folly within his own philosophy whole Louie became a grim reaper for the night due to love lost. Love is very powerful and Louie countered his philosophy with a delightful "regretfully decline" while Armand eventually knows what Louie is going through only to tell him his vampires are useless and decadent and he wants to die too after the sun burn of his love Claudia. After this, Armand fell into a purgatory like state of reality to know what pain means again as he told Louie he reflects broken hearts. This power Louie has is what makes Armand wants to die. Only to Louie, letting him live to never know peace, will always be a suffering As a memory because of that moment. I'm not surprised if Armand commit suicide shortly after cause it showed nothing of him afterwards besides that fiend....that likable fiend, Lestat, returned. ...
