The idea of having and secret war between Vampires and Werewolves is ingenious My let down in the movie was that they didn’t give much character development on Elder Amelia . Her ambush scene on the train was a missed opportunity. She was known to be a skillful warrior and I would have loved seing her battling lycans until ultimately being betrayed by the coven who were supposed the help her But unfortunately , the sequels were a disappointment

Then when Lucian did save Sonja's life, he punished Lucian instead. Final mistake was killing Sonja. She was the only reason Lucian didn't allow the werewolves to storm the castle. With Sonja dead, there was no further reason for him to prevent the werewolves from coming in.
