- Ha, I don't own the film... I just put this video up 'cause I thought to was sooo good for UA-cam. I kinda couldn't resist this moment between Louis and Armand.

In the book, Louis and Armand actually travel the world together after Claudia dies. They even live together in New York in the 20th Century and apparently enjoy a lot of long years together. It's pretty gay. And awesome. Louis still ends up alone, though.
what's the name of the book?
Dx
its a book series called the vampire chronicles by anne rice (11 books)
tell me more please!! if they were together, why Louis ends up all alone?
*****
Louis breaks up with him, basically. In the book, Armand denies being responsible for Claudia's death so Louis will become his companion. After many years pass, Armand notices that Louis is growing distant and quiet. He admits to being the reason Claudia is dead. When Louis makes it seem like he doesn't want to be with Armand anymore, Armand asks him, "Is there anything else you need from me...?" Louis says no, and then Armand walks and never comes back.
Armand did not expect louis to mourn for claudia. He doesnt regret being responsible for claudia's death, only that louis got mad at him for it
charissecoal Was Armand or Santiago who made the decision to kill Claudia?
Because it always seemed to me that Santiago was the one who did the reckless deed.
I haven’t read all the books but there’s an account of Claudia actually making a pact with Armand. She will give up Louis if Armand can make her a grown woman, so Armand cuts her head and try to put it on a headless female vampire body, hoping that the dark blood will fuse them together. The experiment fails and that’s how Claudia dies
@@basiliskos119 bendiciones
Basiliskos bs it doesn't happen like that in the books jack ass lol, she's put on trial and faces execution... Although interesting you made all of that up...
@@micaylab1 it was absolutely Armand's doing. He decided to destroy Claudia when Louis said he can't abandon her. Armand wanted to leave behind the theatre and make Louis his companion. He didn't care what happens to Santiago and the rest. That's why other vampires didn't attack Louis after Armand set him free, they were doing Armand's bidding. Armand was their coven leader and he basically betrayed them all and Louis, too.
In the book Armand is about 16-17 years old but Antonio was PERFECT in the role as Armand.
I think the casting in this movie was FLAWLESS even Tom Cruise as Lestat and Brad as Louie.
+Richie Daniel Agreed. Also, I forgot how young Armand was when he changed. I really should go back and read the books.
+Susiowong Amen to that :D
@@vinushkas did you ever read Lestat and atlantis?
@@Prince_the_One unfortunately not. Is it good?
Ya he's 17 and has Auburn hair
Yep. About as close to a kiss as a non-kiss could possibly get. Dying from the antici........PATION.

Hehehe
And yet there’s nothing gay about it! But if u saw that today 🤔
@@erysilva5808 I dunno bro... it's not straight 😂
"Louis?"
"Yes?"
"I will die."
I would too if had that much sexy up in my face. Jesus.
Your comment made me laugh so hard, because i agree XD

😂😂
minutemuse 😂😂 me to
Lol
Just FYI, when, on March 17, 1995 I and 240 friends had an audience-participation screening of this movie at the Super Saver Cinema in Seal Beach, CA (RIP), at this scene, when Louis takes Armand's face in his hands, the entire audience began screaming KISS HIM!!! at the top of their lungs, and then it became a chant, KISS HIM! KISS HIM! KISS HIM! before becoming a wordless scream as their lips almost touch and then rolled on, into a gigantic, disappointed AWWWWWW! as they parted, unkissed. Thought you might want to know. Cheers.
I was screaming it on the inside, myself! The single hottest moment on screen I had seen at that time.
Laura King best comment ever
Ive been in movies in many countries and i literally hate when people dont keep their mouths shut or have to nipple with their celphones. Unless its comedy which come with laughing any words from outside screen takes away from scene
And I was screaming it in my mind today when I saw this movie for the first time. Lol!.
Same!!!
Louis is such a fuckin heart breaker haha.
If he was any more Emo the grass would cut itself and everyone elses grass nearby, lol. I love him though, he was very much connected with his human emotions throughout time.
@@o0gothique0o37 same
@@o0gothique0o37 Agreed.
He’s too much of an eeyore for me 😵💫
Louis was one of the most beautiful looking men I had ever seen when I first watched this movie. I would've kissed him in a heartbeat!!!
Kierra Ranae I would Kiss Louis too in a Heartbeat, he is a Beautiful man and I Love Lestat Interview with the Vampire is always the best
Armand was more beautiful.
I just can't see it with Brad, fish face to me lol, but omg Armand
I still think Tristan, from Legends of the Fall, is the most beautiful man I’ve ever seen… No homo. 😅
@@MrMickeyQ22
I agree with you. Tristan will always be my dream man followed by Louis De Lioncourt.
This scene gets me every time I watch this movie. I'm like "little bit closer...closer and....shit" =/
There's gay, and then there's homoerotic, and the teasing aura of the latter makes this even HOTTER.
pretty sure those mean the same thing, wise philosopher.
Hello fellow slytherin 💚🖤🤍
Lmao. Comments are like, "now kiss" *bangs Louis and Armand's heads together*
There's something really sexy about this scene... Even when they're just walking haha
@@cassandramayrick9586 Antonio Banderas' accent doesn't hurt either ;) Very hot!
How did Pitt get THAT close to Banderas' face without any actual physical contact? Now that's talent! :-D
Now that I think about it yea that is a talent
His nose touched his forehead, so there was *some* physical contact
Lol Knighthood! XD
I had to watch it so many times to realize that there was no contact
It would have been cool if they kissed 😔
Louis: What if all i have is my suffering, my regret...
Armand: Don't you want to lose it?
Louis: So you can have that too?
Gets me every time.
Sometimes, we must be shackled to our pain to remind us of what we lost
And, I am very much fettered to mine
Maybe I'm used to it, but I don't see the fuss in pointing out how closely they act together...Vampires, in this movie anyway, are such emotional and passionate creatures, it really isn't a big deal.
Besides, Louis is mocking him by getting so close because Armand wanted him for himself; it's crazy how much things backfired for him right here.
Lots of people don't understand that that sort of behavior is relatively normal though as you stated above- I feel like a lot of times perhaps sexuality is viewed almost as a must with just vampires in general and definitely character ships. To me the relationships that existed in the books transcend sexuality and much more.
Twilight, queen of the damned & other vampire movies have nothing on this these vampires are absolutely gorgeous & look really realistic.
@Moonlight & your point?
Queen of the damned and this movie here written by the same author and are in the same universe. During this kiss akasha was still asleep somewhere😂😂😂
I know Armand doesn't LOOK right but I think Antonio portrayed him wonderfully. It's not like he could reverse time and become seventeen to do the movie.
Its' the fact that they don't relieve the gripping tension in this scene by kissing....that allows it to hold on to you....and NOT let you go...not even when it ends...the relationship wrestled with here is far more powerful than could ever be conveyed by a single kiss. It's about eternity and what is at the very heart of their Being ...what animates it....It's a devastating scene.
"we must be powerfull, beautifull and without regret" Armand
the words of a true vampire
Louis is such a tease jesus christ
-Louis...
-Yes?
-I will die!
-omae wa mou shindeiru
That came to my mind too
OTAKUs are everywhere
🤣🤣🤣
This movie gave us the 3 most beautiful men ever.
That Ladies and Gentlemen is what you call a vampire burn
I've loved this scene since the very first time I saw the movie, and, of course, read the books. it doesn't matter if Armand does not look like the book's description. they both made a great job for their characters, and the essence is finally there, sad and seductive.
Yes I remember Armand was 17 years old and blonde! Lol
Proofs beautifully how changes from the original story can be both thoughtful and respectful to the spirit of the source material
FUCKING KISS
Antonio IS armand. He fits it perfectly, and I could imagine noone else doing it. ESPECALLY not some young buck tween star. He knew how to do it.
-Twilight-Shmilight. There is NO comparison.
I mourned with Louie when he talked of his heart mourning for Claudia. She was the only one who could "quicken" his spirit. And now she was dead.
Tilt of the head, sensuous smile, "and as much as your invitation might appeal to me..." Gawd this man is hot.
This scene hints at something. The more Louis kills vampires, the more he seems to grow stronger. He knows at this point that Armond had them killed, even against his will, but his strength is rare that he can feel the empathy and regret around him, much like himself. That is what makes him unique.
Has to be one of my favorite scenes from the film, and just one of them in general. I love Louis line "So you can have that, too? The heart that mourns her, her who you burnt to cinder!"
I agree
Armand wants him and he knows it sooooo much cx
Antonio is just flawless in this movie 😚😚😚😚😚😚😚
Antonio banderas is handsome
He’s one sexy vampire
I wanted him to,kiss him so bad. I yelled "just do it " out loud.
I know!! It was so frustrating that they have not done it!!
Bright Like Fireworks same
One of the sexiest seens in the movie....... both look great with long hair
This is so damn hot. I love this scene.
antonio looks so beautiful in this movie, serious my heart exploded
Armand has to be the gayest character in this movie
Lol
It's so much worse in the books, the amount of sexual tension between them is fucking deafening
and not lestat?
@Big Jays Hair I do agree about the masc and fem thing but when comes to Armand and Louis, they're very much gay. While Lestat is bi. Is more explicit in the books. Basically the vampires in Anne Rice Books fall under more as Sexuality Asexual and Romantically Bi. The movie tones in it down but the gay still bleeds through.
LESTAT
Love this! The metaphors..the irony... The seduction of evil, the lack of empathy, in the world. Louis is my equal...most hate him, or what he represents (personality), I see him as my equal. " you feel too much"... Fore, the INFP does not know such things. We see quite the opposite. 💔
What??? Why do people hate Louis??? I love Louis!
@@o0gothique0o37 haha! Everyone I've ever known didn't care much for him....people love Lestat....my thoughts is that its in relation to the narcississtic programming that we are witnessing and the book/ movie is essentially a story of humanity. Sick people are most drawn to those that empathize with them....confusing it for sympathy...having said that,, I tend over analyze everything....so there's that. Lol
@@o0gothique0o37 Thought you might appreciate this... "when the marriage is finally over" I relate...lol ua-cam.com/video/D0DtooamB1k/v-deo.html
@@LareesieAlice XD that is too perfect, lol. It's once the honey moon phase has gone away. Aw their first major fight... atleast it's not as bad as the fight between Lestat and Claudia she just straight up goes full tilt on him.
@@LareesieAlice no... I don't think you are over analyzing it at all. Given Louis backstory leading into how he met Lestat, personally to me, was not and could not have been given a solid pathway in the movie to understanding the relationship they had. Louis is a very ... complicated and complex character that regardless of how emo he was at times I still really loved him the most probably of all the vampires- other than Marius and Amadeo.
RIP Anne. Thank you for your stories.
Armand was so awesome in this movie - it's crazy how great Antonio Banderas played him...even though I felt it was weird he was playing a French character, he really did a fantastic job.
Armand is not French, he was born else were and was raised partially elsewhere and Greece(where he was turned)
He’s supposed to be Spanish which what Antonio is in real life.
Also He played a half French man in Take the lead .
I just love the was Louie gets even. It's as if he deliberately walks into the room acting as if he's conquered the world only to slam Armand down big time and then more or less tells him quietly to go die lonely.
That almost kiss at 1:39. I know a lot of people said this movie didn't go far enough to depict the underlying gay relationships present, but it was the 90s, big Hollywood movies still weren't ready for that yet. At least we have the 2022 Interview With the Vampire show to make amends.
OMG I would have been DYING of laughter if I had to do this scene. Kudos to Brad Pitt for holding it together.
Weird that Armand is a 16 years old, redhead, Russian boy in the books
Gorgeous..!!!! I will hold out for one that looks like this always .. the rest ... just play things ... with no strings attached what's so ever!!!
When I first saw this movie I TOTALLY THOUGHT THEY WERE GOING TO KISS. And I kind of wish they did.
"what is all I have is my suffering, my regret, and my sad beauty." that's why vampires must be limited to telepathic communication cause i bet that's all they like over and over.
The best and most beautiful vampire movie in the history of cinema ❤️️
1000% agree :)
OMG I love this kind of scenes!
Just perfect!
"...And as much as your invitation might appeal to me...I must regretfully...decline."
BOOOOOOOM! MOST UNDERRATED MIC DROP IN HISTORY!!!
*CUE THUG LIFE MEME*
The acting in that movie was phenomenal!!! All three legends Ethan hunt, Marry jane watson (MJ), and Mr smith killed it. Hard to believe it was 18 years ago🔥❤️
I'm honored to have the same name this vampire has.
my sister and i watched this movie for the first time in years and as i was watching it i was like "i dont remember it being this gay" but hey im not complaining
the book is waaaaay gayer. Lestat and Louis are a legit couple as well as Louis and Armand
that whole movie has many different spices added to it, lol.
@@Adolphus91788 i bought the whole book series after rewatching because of that! Apparently the movie wasn't gay enough and I agree
This looks better than the twilight saga and most vampire tv series that are on now. Am I the only one who thinks so? Also kind of looks better than Queen of the Damned.
that would be because thanks to that movie all those other movies exist
agenttheater5 the film for queen of the damned was a monstrosity, but the books are absolutely amazing
That is way more sexual tension than I can handle for today Lol
Banderas killed it.
i watched this on netflix the other day for like the 20th time and it was called interview with a vampire!!
They have forgotten the first lesson..
That we must be powerful, beautiful, and without regret.🍷
Hair goals.
1:30 ohh my goood

As a star wars fan I can’t help but notice Brad Pitt’s voice here and even a bit of his acting. Why? Because it reminds me exactly of Hayden Christensen as Anakin. People criticize him heavily yet his acting resembles so much of Brad Pitt’s in this movie, someone who is world renowned as one of the best actors. Perhaps Hayden used Brad’s Louis as an inspiration for Anakin.
@Katanankantaja No one was willing to play Armand, Neil Jordan (director of Interview with the Vampire) and David Geffen (producer) had to cast Antonio banderas at last minute because the film was set to go into production with no set backs and they couldn't afford to delete the character from the script because Anne was against it. She was also against the whole cast but was pleased with the finished film and apologized to the whole cast after.
ho !!! i love that part so much!!!
So eloquently stated....immorality is far to burdensome for the masses...
I wish this movie was... close(r) to the novel. Specially this scene.
🩵 This is a profound scene that Antonio & Brad did justice. It crystallised opposing sides of humanity, love, survival, immortality. I saw this in 1994 I think (after reading the Vampire Chronicles books). The whole cast and crew did well. Thanks for uploading
when Louis actually stood up for himself and began running the town. Like five minutes before the end. That was when he became hot.
Sorry it's just a scene that has meant alot to me for quite some time. It speaks my wounded soul.
Alas, Armand demonizes Lestat so much that they don't really have a chance in canon...Lestat and Louis, that is. But Armand and Louis, they are together for a while...
Antonio Banderas is good...but Armand in the books, a beautiful teenager with long red hair, so enchanting and old and wise...ahh, he is fascinating!
How many girls here thought "NOW KISS!" when Louis gets close to Armand? lol XD
Meee
Me
I love this scene
Antonio Banderas did convice me as a vampire in this movie...he's stunningly gorgeous here.
What a masterpiece ❤
One of my favorite parts of the movie🙌🏾
You're minds are all poisoned... he was threatening Armand. This wasn't meant to be romantic at all... he's showing him that he could kill him right there but chose not to.
Armand, Armand, Armand., YUM
They depicted that scene so perfectly.
I love this part. While watching it I whispered "Kiss him... kiss him...". :) Thank you for uploading.
@EarthenAncient I agree with everything you have just said, he knew what Armand did, he knew his motivations, he see's the truth of him, he wants Louis, so that he can feed from the humanity that still remains within him, very selfish motives, i too enjoy the part when he leaves him, and you see him standing alone, a very powerfull scene
Excellent acting
Best vampire movie of all times!!
Now..... that's....a fashionable, Vampire with a hypnotic ability to even subdue another . With sorrow and guilt,Leo has learned more than even his predecessor.
Louis reminds me of a lion with that mane of hair. A beautiful, wonderfully amazing lion.
it's about feeling bad! Armand wants to feel Louie's pain. It's better than feeling nothing. I love this movie. Especially the 64 mustang at the end, and Lestat's return.
Every time I see it, I always want them to kiss and it just never happens. Just KISS ALREADY! Brad is such a beautiful man. And after watching this movie I've had a little thing for Antonio, which I've never had before. One of my fave movies, indeed.
I love it😍😍😍😍
I liked Louis in the movie, then I read the book and he really pissed me off. On a few occasions.
The main one is what he does to Claudia. He's so incredibly selfish, despite constantly saying how much he loved her and regretted his role in turning her, he escapes with her and they tour Europe together. Loving and depending on eachother. Then as soon as Armand showed up he's like "Whatever Claudia" despite her desperate and justified pleas.
He ignores all the clear and obvious danger they're in and doesn't take her word for it that Armand wants to kill her when he literally controlled her with his mind Infront of Louis like a little puppet.
Throw in the threats of the other Theatre vamps who toyed with him and also ridiculed Claudia, hurt her infront of him and she's clearly affected. She confesses all this to him and he flat out denies her, which then understandably forces her to seek another "adult" vamp so she can survive without him and he says NO, only giving in later after a horrible desperate argument which forever changes their relationship.
It was heartbreaking reading it. I thought how Anne Rice wrote Claudia's character was fantastic.
In yrars to come this movie will be a classic what a gem of a movie
Antonio Banderas and Brad Pitt had so much chemistry togheter. The homoerotic passion and the sexual tension between Armand and Louis is very intense and believable in many ways.❤
Yeah, i wondered that too. Armand is older in the movie than the book; in the book he's like, 17 or 18. And they got his looks all wrong, but like you said, Antonio is gorgeous and i guess they were going for proper character portrayal rather than getting the looks right.
Oh my. I love this clip. Sooo much UST.
Powerful acting
great moment
What amazes me most about Brad Pitt's acting is that when his character is first introduced, i always feel as tho he's trying too hard but he commits so much to the role and he rlly brings something to the whole tone of the film. Once he's in character, he's never out of it.
This is art.
My favorite scene for sure
I WANTED THEM TO KISS SO BAAAAAAAD
I wonder how many times they filmed this? It feels like Brad would have kissed Antonio when they got really close as a joke on occasion, idk why
Louis truly loved Claudia. All the other's crossed the line when they killed her.
Oh my God I understand now
