Love his drumming, one album that did not get a mention here and I think he did an amazing work on is Killing Joke´s self titled album from 2003, the albums opening track "The Death & Resurrection Show" maybe a stand out but excellent drumming on the whole album ...as to be expected.
Thanks for the funk , Gap Band, Parliament call out that everyone likes to pretend he didn't say and doesn't exist. Nice to be up front about it. Its obviously not his ONLY influence, but for me that makes him cooler than I already think he is! Dave is so FUN to watch and absolutely ELECTRIC live. I recommend everyone to go see the Foos, even if its not their kind of music.
@@Jakubjakee Then I'd be delighted for you to have your cymbals cracked and hoops bent. Sadly I can't afford that. Doesn't detract from the fact that he's one of the most grounded and decent human beings on the planet (based on his interviews etc) I just don't share his endorsements that guarantee unlimited supplies of top quality gear, meaning he can smash the crap out of his kit and it magically fixes itself every morning...
Yea, he's a great drummer. One of my favorite drummers for the power. But jeeezus he is lame as a guitarist/lyricist/songwriter. First couple albums were great but everything since with the Foo is the most bland bs, and he just keeps pumping out more of the bland bs, plastering his face everywhere, jerkin himself to all the attention. Just sad that this is what the general public considers a "rock star" to be.

Yes! It's a great record and a great sounding drum recording, tight claustrophobic and energetic at the same time
Total invasion!!!!
Dave's drumming in the St. Vincent's latest album gives so much punch to the record ngl, even when it's like only two songs.
Great analysis -- going to hunt down that Tiny TV interview. Sounds like Emma also has a new sub.
Extra points for mentioning Emma. She's great!
