Thankyou soooo much for an up close easy to follow tutorial on the crochet method. I'm 55 and just starting my dreadlock journey. I've had my hair for a day and have only managed 5 🤣.
@@sabrinadaniel5165 hi, I've made 140 DE dreadlocks, bought lots of colours in the wool dreads and absolutely LOVE my hair now. Took a while to get used to weight and wearing a night cap, but I wouldn't go back. Hope you have as much fun as I've had on your journey. 🌈❤️
this is what i needed to see, id rather make my own synth dreads, its my art, but this technique has made my time crocheting much faster than what i was normally doing, you rock!!! Thank you!!
Thank you so much for your videos - it's been so hard to find good videos on the basket stitch and I think I'm getting a repetitive strain injury from my narrow crochet needle, your handle looks much comfier. Im wondering if there's anything I can do to secure the end of the basket stitch, yours are staying in place but mine seem to slowly unravel or get less tight over the following days or week from the bottom of the basket up...
its funny because i gave up watching tutorials for a bit when i first began making dreads and i would actually attempt this but it would get annoying when it seemed it was getting too tight to stitch back and forth and of course your the only person ive seen do it this way so i figured it wouldnt work out or was wrong.. but i love the way you make dreads as your past videos have helped my synthetics come out alot better as well as the loops. I am infatuated w/ your hair and makeup as well great color combinations
Same! Ive already killed an entire pack of black trying to figure out how to make my own locs. 😄 The way you instruct truly does make it click! Please make more videos. DE's perhaps?
Hi, I really love that you have this video out because I have more of Caucasian hair and why am located there isn’t any Loctician‘s that work on my type of hair. I am curious to know if this technique is OK to do on my dreads that don’t have any extensions? My dreads are about six months old and they are absolutely out of control with frizz and the hair doesn’t seem to want to stay in its place at the moment, I know that it takes time for them to mature but I’d like them to stay presentable for work.
Hi, I'm glad you found this helpful. This method is absolutely ok to use on locks without extensions. I have another video about dreadlock maintenance that shows how I would maintain grown out roots using the crochet method. You're right that it takes time for locks to mature, but using crochet maintenance to stitch in any longer loose hair will help them do this quicker and will tighten them without causing any damage. Wishing you the best of luck! xx
Hey there, I'm curious because I'm having issues with my crochet synthetic dreads being pretty itchy / velcro-y when installed. Is there a way to soften them further after crocheting and before install???
OMG IVE WATCHED DOZENS OF THESE HOW TO VIDEOS BUT WHILE WATCHING YOURS, IT FINALLY CLICKED THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR PUTTING THESE OUT
You're very very welcome! So good to hear. Please let me know if you have any requests for the next one. :-) x

That's how I do it, also.
It feels very productive.

Could you link me to this course please 🤩😃
Would you do maintenance with this technique?
What kind of hair do you use?
How do I smooth this out? Mine turned out very scratchy 😢
I know this video is old, but I would like to do your course. Link doesn't work.

Dip them into hot water
How do you make the dreads that look like yours? With the wispy wavy ends. I cannot find a video ANYWHERE!
