In regards to why Hera's actress looks so familiar is because she is Mary Elizabeth Winstead, she played Ramona in "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World". And just a cool note, she is married to Ewan McGregor!
I just love that Hera is played by Ewan Mcgregor’s (Obi Wan) wife. Ewan’s daughter is a drug dealer in the kenobi show (pink hair chapter 2) and Ewan’s uncle is wedge Antilles from “a new hope”, “return of the Jedi”, and “rise of Skywalker” Star Wars is family affair for the Mcgregors
I think Ahsoka LOOKS great, but Rosario is a little bit _too_ stoic. A little bit _too_ reserved. She was much warmer in Rebels. Doesn't ruin anything for me, just feels a bit off.
@@DarthDimadome true, Ahsoka was not exactly spiderman jokey, but did have banter during fights and dogfights, etc. we’ll see if they bring that in later. This is Dave’s character, so hopefully they let him do what he wanted with her representation and Dawson carries it out
@@DarthDimadome I know what you mean, but there's been a lot of stuff happened between the end of rebels (not the epilogue) and this, so I think she's changed over time, which is fine. The core is still there and right.
I love that (Baylan) Skoll and (Shin) Hati are Norse Mythology figures, being two wolves that chase the Sun during the day and the Moon during the night, respectively. It’s very evocative, especially for ex-Jedi who are now bounty hunters.
Skoll is an Order 66 survivor who presumably took a young Force sensitive Hati under his wing as an apprentice. They are (just like Mando and Grogu, or Joel and Ellie) a Lone Wolf and Cub duo.
This first episode was phenomenal the second one just as good and I cannot wait to see the rest of it shout out to Ray Stevenson a great actor who will be missed
I'm glad people who didn't watch "Rebels" is going to experience some of the best characters in the Star Wars franchise including the best droid. I'll be content with this series if we see Chopper dropping bodies and committing war crimes.
The moment when Steven goes "I think it's a LothCat" is hands down the greatest "i clearly know this as a full blown star wars nerd but I'm going to say "I think" before I say it" in history.
I love the way she was introduced, as well. Even for people who haven't seen Rebels, you know everything you need to about her character in the first minute she's on-screen.
Have to agree with Steven here, the whole puzzle in the temple thing, when I saw it, all I could think of was: what's next? Rolling giant metal spheres into slots to raise platforms, open doors? Nice touch by the writers there.
Sabine was not stabbed in the stomach but to her side so the stab missed anything too vital unlike Qui-Gon who got stabbed in the middle thru the stomach and spine. Sabine got the equivalent of a side gunshot in a cop show so survivable...lol
@@MaverickIceman Exactly, so we can stop having these redundant conversations. The events must move the characters forward through risk and survival for development. It’s why Din was saved by Grogu in S1 of Mandalorian, and the list goes on. These are story devices, common in fictional storytelling.
@@MaverickIceman To put some logic into it: she's a Padawan, so not as well trained and aware that more enemy are coming from behind her - possibly a Jedi - so possibly a little stressed and rushed. The question: why did Baylan not come? Plot wise, of course, to have his padawan face Sabine. Logic wise: what was he doing instead?
@aussiejed1 my theory is that her master didn't order a kill because she knows how he feels about Jedi, and she only stabbed Sabine to keep Ahsoka from following. Dead or unharmed wouldn't accomplish that.
Nikki seeing a Loth Cat for the first time 😍 hehe those little darlings better hit the shelves soon. I kinda wondered if we’d see the return of the Notebook, to keep track of everyone 🤔
I went to the Montreal Comicon and I always get excited when I get to the Quebec Astromerch booth (SHOUT OUT!!!!) and this year I was like "Oh , hey, there's K-2S0, hey R2... Hi, R5... CHOPPER OMG THAT'S CHOPPER!" and I wheeled my wheelchair so fast towards the life-sized droid, my Godson had to run after me to keep up. The guy who was controlling the droid heard my scream of joy so he had turned it around and Chopper was wheeling towards me just as fast. I gave it a huge hug. The guy told me he was happy to see someone who knew who Chopper was before the Ahsoka show. When my Godson was finally able to drag me away, he said "Aren't you almost 50?" and I said "Your point being?" haha
I loved both episodes what I'm so excited for is that they're going to another galaxy which could be a tease for the Yuzhan Vong if you were scared of the sith you'll be terrified of these aliens
Rosario wanted the live-action role of Ahsoka years before she was cast as her. She was always a big fan of the character and you can really see the passion in her portrayal. Also, the Rebels women are freaking hot. I understand Captain Kirk now. The actress playing Hera is Mary-Elizabeth Winstead, married to Ewan McGregor BTW.
I’m convinced their orange lightsabers are using Kohlan crystals (as detailed in the Master & Apprentice novel with Obi-Wan and Qui Gon). Their properties make them much weaker against many materials and could explain how Sabine took it so well.
If something is thrust into your body I don't think it matters what its made of, its still went through your body! Its like comparing a bronze spear and a steel spear, its still metal and its hurts the same assuming you survive it!

I have never watched any of the animated series' and I really enjoyed the show and I felt like I was introduced the characters well enough to know what was going on with them.

I like the music during the open intro of the characters in lightsaber colors. It’s not the usual sound they use but music from the series. 14:18 Hera is played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead who is married to Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor). 15:47 that droid is based off an old Kenner R2-D2 toy they made. To all the doubters who were afraid Ahsoka wasn’t going to live up to the hype, this and the next episode prove that Dave Filoni is the true apprentice and successor of George Lucas. His eye for the details of the same classic samurai films that inspired Lucas is all over this show. What’s really surprising is that these episodes are made in a way that even people who didn’t see Rebels can get into this show without being lost, while hardcore fans like myself who watched it from day one are well and truly rewarded for watching it from beginning to end.
